Blender gets a lot easier after the 30 minutes it takes to finally figure out how to mirror movements on opposite verticies/faces/edges. Why that isn't literally step one in any/most tutorials is beyond me.

As the person who mostly used CAD software when i tried blender for the first time i couldnt get over the fact that i cant do precise work (maybe i can but i didnt find how to). There were so many situations where i wanted to do it the way i did in solidworks for example. I get that its not that important when you make a character but a lot of obects can be done much easier by controlling dimensions. Biggest problem for me was inability to control angles. When i did anvil tutorial i was like "what if i had anvil in front of me, how would i copy it 1 to 1 if the size of the anvil is depends on how i feel is enough to grag my mouse?" I've never tried to use CAD and then import it i to blender but i assume it would be a mess

blender guru is literally the worse place to start as a beginner. go do basic low poly stuff with basic edits first

That`s exactly how I started using Blender. For the first time i was like - yea i`m going to make something cool - open the Blender - staring at the default cube - delete it - add a new one - going to edit mode - staring at those edges and vertices - move one vertex - get extremly confused - close Blender. Open the Blender again - maybe i can do something in sculpt mode!!! - tryin to do something with cube - nothing works - get embarassed - close Blender :D That was the first two weeks before i convinced myself to watch some tutorials :D

BRO my first day in blender was human anatomy and no kidding. My sister has been trying the donut for a week and the first day she told me "start with the donut, it takes a long time to learn anatomy and animation"... Four days later I started animating.💀

I just learned that I was doing weight painting completely wrong

This video was ironically helpful for me as a complete beginner. In additon to showing me how to look around the cube, it taught me that not knowing what the heck is going on is totally normal.

if you're a newbie and this is you right now, just watch a beginner tutorial like the donut tutorial or all the other ones out there and watch them at 1.5 or 1.75 speed it definitely gives you a boost so you can actually have a chance at making something you want

I got mad today because I changed the color of my donut by using a hotkey by accident and took me like 30 frustrating minutes to fix it

Odd part is if you switch mouse button assignments and restart you're a pro..

I keep leaving and coming back to blender and it makes me laugh cuz i completely forgot how to use and but it helps cuz i start to remember where i left off last time so i've learn a bit to be fair.
