    Great video! In Jason Dions practice tests there were a decent amount of questions related to Regex expression. Do you remember seeing anything related to regex on your cysa+ exam?

    Network+ is a useless cert. CCNA carry’s some value proving that you have the hands -on to configure. The Network+ is just theory. Cheers!

    I thought security+ was easy, after studies, the cysa is harder to study with the more technical stuff. I am finding so far.

    After two years in the field, I have the A+, Net+, Server+, CCST-Networking, and CCNA. Now working on Redhat. If I had to do it over, I'd skip the CompTIA stuff. You are right; not worth the cost. Also, this probably won't help get past HR, but the CCST-Networking is outstanding prep for doing the physical hardware side of server admin. That's the most underrated entry-level exam in IT. I'm a career educator and may return to the field later to create a high school career training IT program. If I do, I'll use the CCST as a foundation piece.

      do you recommend to skip the comptia certs and go straight to CISCO , im planning to start doing certification in IT field , ccst it support and ccst networking and ccna

      @@vicecity8433 CSST to CCNA seems more efficient than doing the CompTIA certifications. That said, the Sec+ is required for some jobs, and I may have to go back and do that myself later.

    haven't watched any "methods to pass" videos before, just studied and used packet tracer and exam topics and guess what? Passed it first time. The allotted time was 2 hours, I have completed it in 1 hour and 10 mins. My suggestion? make sure you know the practice and use exam topics. The questions you really struggle to memorise.. get a screenshot and practice them over and over.

    Thanks for sharing, do you think studying with the, Cisco CCST Cyber security official cert guide is enough to pass this exam? I presently have my A+, Server+, Security+, and Network+. Been wanting to get the CCNA, but was thinking taking the CCST Cyber security might be helpful since I've never taken a Cisco exam

      To be honest if you have all of that then I would say yes. Your prior knowledge alone would likely allow you to answer most questions on security.

    Working for the army helpdesk. A lot of acronyms. But how long do you stay at helpdesk before jumping ship to cyber?

    • @Jamesytech22
      @Jamesytech22 24 дні тому

      That's a good question. First off starting in military is great for cyber because of some of the clearances you get and just the fact that a lot of employers find ex-military attractive for cyber roles. It really depends on your drive and how fast you want to go. Some people can do a year in help desk and jump ship with a few certifications to back it up. However, some people may go an alternative route and go from help desk to sysadmin/networking and then to cybersecurity. Let me know if you have any more questions!

    I haven't taken A+ but I have taken Sec+ and studied for ccna. In my experience the CCNA is extremely practical and hands on while comptia is very conceptual. Ive heard people say you can take an A+ or network+ course just to prepare for ccna and that seems true. Regaurdless you learn most of the fundamentals in ccna and can do it with no experience. Most classes do move extremely fast for someone with no experience but they do cover everything even for complete beginners.

    • @Jamesytech22
      @Jamesytech22 Місяць тому

      I see what you're saying. I think that those courses can help you learn networking fundamentals but will not fully prepare you for the CCNA. I think it's a good start for someone who wants a solid networking foundation before you get into the nitty gritty configurations. However, if you're able to find a self-paced CCNA course where you can learn the concepts, then do labs, I think that learning experience would be much better.

      Hey, what's up! I finished the course a month or two ago and it's very practical and will guide you in getting a job while also teaching you the basics of IT. If you're looking for a deep dive into IT concepts, the Google course might be better. But if you strictly want a bootcamp style course that will teach you the basics enough to do a help desk job and guide you on getting that job then Coursecareers is a good option.

    Remember, the end-users WILL smell new blood. Like a great white getting a whiff of blood in the water. Try not to take it personally. It gets better. Make sure to consult internal routines, and if it isn't clear, start bothering your coworkers. Co-pilot will help a lot. Honesty is generally appreciated by the end-user according to my own experiences. After 2 years, if there's something I haven't seen, then I will be upfront with the customer/user. HOWEVER, I tend to reassure them that we have various paths we can take. Like checking internally and perhaps escalating if needed. And hey, don't dismiss the user's ideas either. I've lost count at how many times someone's general suggestion has led me to the right path even if they're not the "technical type" Most importantly, don't stress yourself out.

    I passed the Security+ on the first try last year, and I took the Server+ last week. I failed it lol. My company will pay for it though if I pass. Definitely not as hard as Security+, but I had bad time management. I must say that some of those questions were way too tricky to where I thought there were 2 possible answers.

      Yeah comptia is known for being tricky like that. Good luck if you take it again!

      i did it last week and got 710 😅 already got A+ and Net+ on the first try, was pretty confident going in with what i learned from my online course but the questions where worded a lot different and the PBQs 😅. I'm just reading the server plus book now for the areas i fell down in, nightmare

    i barely passed SEC+ you think the udemy course is good enough for CySA+?

      That's what I used to pass the CYSA+ and I scored higher than I did on the Sec+. However if you struggled in the Sec+, I would take more time while studying before taking the CYSA+.
