Weed plant in bonsai form (Start to Final Product)
very nice litttle bonsai. keep up the good work
Thank you very much I really appreciate the positive feedback
For the first year it is very usefull to put all roots inside container. It could be risky that best top roots - future nebari - can dry out. Very nice find, tree has potential!
Yes, you are right
🍻
Nice bonsai thank you for sharing,im here to support good luck Mr
Thank you for the support! It means a lot 🙏
Nice Slab . Good Job
Thank you 🙏
Wow! Really creative! Never thought of doing that before! Another 5 star video 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
You are much more patient than me, I would have used a spade and dug it up in 5 seconds. Would make a very short vid.😮
Diddy
Keep it up man!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for sharing sir. From Philippines
Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Great vids
Thank you 🙏
Bonsai yang sangat indah....salam sukses selalu
I have a problem with little gnats or something smaller than gnats
Maybe aphids?
Needs a deeper pot
You don’t think the surface area will make up for depth?
@@TGNep most honeysuckles grow allot of roots fast I usually put my honeysuckle trees in a deeper pot so they don't push the tree out of the pot or sometimes Crack the pot but that's just me either way you did a awesome job and it's a beautiful tree
Thank you! I will take this into consideration
I have allot of Honeysuckle trees Honeysuckle trees are hard to kill but make beautiful bonsai.
Beautiful tree
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi! What do you use as substrate? Thank you.
I use a mixture of akadama, lava rock, and pumice! All the same granular size
@@TGNep thank you
Those r very hard to kill. Grow wild in my yard. Have 1 in big pot as garden tree and 2 more growing on to thicken trunks. The trunk is rhe most interesting with this species, otherwise they dont male great bonsai.
i really hate to say it, but thats not a honey locust, thats a honeysuckle in the genus Lonicera, most likely Lonicera morrowii judging by the bark
Oh did I say honey locust in the video? I know it is a honeysuckle, my bad I get my words mixed up sometimes! Still new to the whole video making
Thank you! Everyone keeps telling me not to collect or repot in the summer but every sugar maple I’ve potted is doing amazing
Yes it can be done successfully! Glad to hear you’ve had good success
Would washing shock the tree?
This entire process does shock the tree no matter what but 90% of the time they recover extremely well there also thing you can do that will help shock the tree less
@@TGNep I thought so because lopping seemed almost violent when I watched Peter Chen do it in a UA-cam video. My Venus flytraps repotted each year when they were still dormant because I believed that would reduce or prevent a shock. They always broke dormancy in about two weeks and then grew again.
location?
Bruce peninsula Canada 🇨🇦
This is awesome
Thank you sir
Great video!!! Perfect for a project I am conidering using a weeping conifer tree.
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Tempat yang sempurna untuk mendapatkan yamadori
I cannot agree more 😎
People need to make more black locust bonsai
Your title should be Brutal Bonsai. Your country of residence? Hornbeam does not grow in my part of U.S., but I find it interesting as bonsai material.
Why do you say brutal? Hornbeam is one of the best for bonsai! I’m located in Ontario Canada
are you doing this for profit?
No this is a passion/hobby
Very nice styling! And a great pot selection for that tree. Here in the great Southwest, were pretty isolated, and not a lot of options for pots. We have different climatic challenges, but we share a love for the art.
Try wigerts bonsai! I get my substrate from them in bulk and they also have a nice selection of pots! Some cheaper options as well! There located in Florida and ship all throughout the USA and Canada
@@TGNep I'll definitely check it out. But fair warning: I'm a cheapskate! Lol
Maybe I missed it in the video, but what kind of tree is this?
This is an iron wood or hop hornbeam
Definitely an awesome score! I hope it thrives. A thought for future projects? Maybe remove all of the flower buds for the transplanting phase. It takes a large amount of the plant's energy to produce flowers and seeds. Removal can allow it to divert that energy to the roots and leaves as it recovers from transplant shock. Just a suggestion from a plant lover and newbie bonsai artist.
You are correct! I did remove about 90% of the flowers the next day! I just didn’t incorporate it into the video! Next time I shall
This is definitely my favourite bonsai
Thank you
Wow! So cool!! Love the work you did
Bro that’s a score! Nice work.Just imagine how much money you saved.Mother nature said on the house!😀👍🏼
You can’t make this stuff up for real haha
honeysuckle takes a big hit and will need to be tough for that much trauma 🤕
It’s doing great so far!
@@TGNep good news - it real potential for something nice
I wouldve planted in larger pot till roots are established. Then go to a bonsai pot.
Roots will establish just fine in the large bonsai pot no?
@@TGNep another two weeks should tell
With roots so deep, why the shallow pot? I feel like it needs a much deeper pot for it to continue to thrive...
When growing bonsai it’s standard to grow in shallow pots! We use an alternative to soil which you can see in the video! This allows for proper drainage and airflow to the roots! As well as lots of fertilizer to make up for the lack of nutrients in the substrate! Bonsai is the practice of a small tree in a small pot but with big features like large trunk and branches compared to the overall size of the tree! The small pot also helps keep the tree in a smaller state
I wonder if i searched around the hills here in New Zealand i could find somthing as beautiful as your tree! 🤔🤔
You would probably find something even better down there!
Was that a native or the Japanese variant?
This is a native species to Ontario! A honey suckle
I find your videos to be very good except you can only heard talking when you are near your camera so a lot of what you're saying isn't being heard. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree. I don't have any other suggestions. I'm glad your channel came up on my feed! New subscriber here.
Hello everyone I would love some feedback on how I could improve on my videos (editing, angles, etc)
Beautiful, also very lucky to find such a nice template to start working with.
I could not agree more! I was a very happy camper when I stumbled along this one!
Happy fisher, no? 👍
That's a very healthy looking roots for a small tree.
I believe this one has been hit with a lawn mower for the last 5 years or so! I found it on the side of a gravel trail in my area and once a year they cut everything back to keep the trail open! The amazing root structure is definitely what has aloud this tree to survive so long!
Eastern Red Cedar (juniperus virginia) or a type of arborvitae/thuja?
No this is an Eastern white Cedar (Thuja occidentalis) Commonly found throughout Ontario, Canada I do know the species you are referring to and it does have similar resemblance to the juniper! Commonly referred to as the red cedar by locals around here!
Noice
Is this a kind of Cypress tree?
* It's a Juniper, my bad, still learning
No this is actually a hemlock! It’s a type of evergreen tree
@@TGNep Oh! I've never heard of one of those before. Thanks!
No worries!
Very inspiring.. Thank you.. New subscriber 👍
Thank you so much!!:)
Your welcome bro
Nice find for sure
Thank you
You’re my hero
