03 F-250 6.0 powerstroke. 50° cold start. Cranks fine and runs well but this squeak is new. It goes away... any thoughts.

Just got my scan gauge 3! With the x gauge function I was able to find all the sensors on the gauge that previously could not see. Turn the volume up. This issue isn't black and white yet to me. The whole cranking sounds nothing like any other videos I find. I'm still learning how this thing works. IPR is 85% on crank. I know that's bad. FICM is good. Can't tell if ICP is ok. No oil leaking tha...

The tool I used was a Ryobi oscillator bit. Best wishes for you. Any hardware store should have you set.
Do you have an '03 with this exact oil rail and 10.9 bolts? Do not listen to the torque specs if you have 10 mm head socket like mine. If it's a torx you can go tighter. I didn't do a video on it but The bolts can only take about 12 torque pounds. Not the 33 the internet was telling me.
I have an 03. Just like you said all the videos only show newer 04s and up and when I took the valve cover off I was like well this looks different.
Seem to be 8mm bolt head. Haven’t put a socket on it yet. When I saw that I just stopped because I need to change #7 injector and the bolts by the heater box were a bitch and I wasn’t putting it back together just to go to Home Depot not even 2 miles away to come back and take it apart again
@@billycarroll3667I bet the passenger side is a real pain! Yes 8mm sounds right. Just don't put them back on with the torque wrench and try to be as consistently hand tight as possible. I tried twerking one to 33 ignorantly and ripped the head off. Thankfully threads were above the block but I had to remove the rail again which made it another day project.
Good luck! The average mechanic takes about 6 months to wrap their head around the heui and hpop system on a 6.0 The problem with alot of scan tools is they read only the psI and not the voltage where the psi reading is possibly a inferred reading due to bad icp but voltage never lies

@@dtlife6155 yeah idk jack shit few years ago bout Diesels let alone 6.0s when i bought my 03' but after few months of going down a exspensive rabbit hole the worst thing happened I fell in love with the POS I even write my own custom tunes Watch Diesel tech Ron on youtube He passed away few years back but hes was a 6.0 guru and download the 6.0 bible

@@dtlife6155 its basiclly a manual from wire schematics to troubleshooting common failures and sensor locations ive downloaded it free a few times make sure its for 03' to early 04'
