How do you get auto commercial insurance for junk removal business? I am trying to get Auto commercial insurance for my 2022 Ford E350 Cutaway box truck, and insurance companies are asking me 27K a year. That's crazy! I don't know how others get Auto commercial insurance for their business but I don't think they pay more than 20k a year for each truck!

Can’t sit behind a computer? Get a job that allows to you to also spend time in the field out of the office. You don’t have to now go all the way to the other end of the spectrum and get a blue collar job. I’m a PC for a construction firm. I work behind a computer but then multiple times a week, I’m out of the office at a job site running OAC meetings. Sitting behind a computer all day everyday can suck, but standing all day and crushing your back under 500lbs of pvdf pipe sucks too.

I work now in an entrepreneur job and I’m happier since leaving blue collar/trade jobs, and all those years of training and doing archaic redundant nonsense. Bottom line - If you enjoy doing those industries, that’s your choice but it’s wrong to look down upon those who leave blue collar or trade jobs/industries for valid reasons which you want to dismiss or downplay because you happen to love it. Money isn’t everything. :)

This is a safe place to share. Being a business owner can be so lonely. Society tells us to just put our heads down and push through. But it’s okay to feel. This stuff is really hard. We all need community especially business owners. Follow along if you’re interested in community.

I’m guilty of choosing work over my kids. Work, in a lot of respects is way easier to measure. Did I get all of my tasks done? Do we have money in the accounts? There are very simple ways to measure worth in our work. Kids, are different. You don’t get great feedback from young kids, you feel like you’re constantly pouring yourself out and there aren’t many ways to measure success. But sometimes you get glimpses and when you get them there’s no better sense of worth. As we were wrapping up our hike. My daughter stopped, looked me in the eye and said “thank you for choosing to be with us instead of working today.” 😭😭😭😭😭 Oftentimes I think “they’re young, they won’t remember these days anyway” But I’m wrong. For my daughter, she will remember that I chose to be with her on a day when work typically rules my schedule. And for me I remembered that, all of the work, is for them. They’re the reason I get up and work hard, push through the stress and continue to grow. And I know that there will be a day when I won’t be able to do this with them anymore. I don’t want to look back and wish I would have taken the time. The work can wait, go be with them.

I have to agree, I wasn't making much as a journeyman level industrial mechanic with crap benefits and got lucky enough to get a job as a project engineer definitely making more for the work that I'm doing. Most of these folks haven't really had to do the same work that most trades people have to do. And most old men I talk to in the trades regret not getting a degree and advancing their careers.

@@bluecollarandy than your lying about something tradesmen are leaving in droves from the trades, why too little pay. Example me Machinist 2 years ago I made $11 an hour that is 4 less than mcdonalds at the time, now you can make 18 same as any unskilled manufacturing job, and you have to buy equipment for yourself. Not to mention you cant get hired with zero experience, you need experience or a certificate which costs money. Of course there is all the damage your body takes from doing phyiscal labor in exposure to the outdoor elements. Nobody should be leaving their white collar jobs for trade jobs.

Here’s how: You need to make $274 per day to hit $100k this year. Here are the average costs of local services per project: Pressure washing = $300 Mobile detailing = $275 Junk removal = $275 These are just a few examples. If you started by doing one of these services on the side and built your way up to doing multiple a day, you could easily be on your way towards making $100k+ this year. Not sure how? I got to a point where I started asking this question “what if?” What if I work this job the rest of my life? What if I try something new? The thought of working that job the rest of my life was overwhelming so I began the pursuit to find something new. I ended up starting a new business with some friends. After we made our investment, I had $47 in my bank account. I was all in. And somehow I had peace like I’d never felt before. After 3 months running that business we made our entire investment back but more importantly I was loving it. It’s been 10 years since I made that decision and it absolutely changed the direction on my life. Are you in a situation where your asking yourself “what if?”. If so, you’re not alone and you can find a path that’s full of purpose if you’re willing to step out and take a chance. #smallbusiness #homeservice #contractor #tradebusinessowner #businessowner

Pro tip from experience , graduate highschool , go into the army , do 3-4 years service ( it’ll go by super freaking fast ) you get everything you possibly need free healthcare free housing all of it , chances of deploying are low ( right now ) don’t get in trouble don’t act dumb , right place right time right uniform that easy , don’t think , do what you’re told , if you like it reenlist for more years , if you don’t like it get out and go find a similar job , employers love the vets for the most part especially in trade jobs , they see military on your resume ( which the army does great teaching you how to write one ) and you will get good money , then go to school for what you wanna do , and guess what the military will pay for it , in full most the time , other disclaimer , if you’re a full time student the army will also pay for your housing ! Yes as a civilian ! Then go to school and graduate with good grades cause if you don’t get good grades you’ll have to pay for it , then go make bank. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I have no regrets doing a trade. I went through a 5 year apprenticeship through an union hall and now have a decent paying job for the rest of my life. As long as you pay your union dues which is only like $35 dollars a month you'll always have that job even if you leave the trade for 10 years! It's insanely valuable. The apprenticeship was difficult and stressful because of long hours and getting picked on but in the end it's worth it.

I’m in a Heavy Equipment Operator trade at the moment and I can tell you it’s a lot to learn but it’s the end that’s benefiting. Operating a Skidsteer, Excavator, Backhoe, Dozer, grader, Front end loader, forklift, and tele-handler it’s completely different compared to driving a regular car it’s fun but safety, coordination, good judgement, eye coordination and skilled hands is the key. I’ve operated all 6 except the telehandler and grader other than that if you can operate those safely and confidently you’re in the right place. It may seem intimidating but once you get the hang of it it’s a normal experience just like driving your car to the store everyday. Good luck to our future job seeking individuals 🚧🦺🇺🇸
