I've done quite a few engine swaps in my life, and have the tools, but I have never done a FWD vehicle. Once you pull the axles, does the motor just lift off the transmission? Straight up? Or does it require to be shoved towards the passenger side? How hard is it to get it realigned? This is the part that gives me nightmares on FWD. Thank you very much for this as I was figuring this would require the subframe being dropped and coming out the bottom. In my case the transmission will be coming out as well as it's at the end of its life as well. Can this whole assembly come out the top, or would you recommend pulling the engine first and then the transmission? I have a donor car that a tree fell on with 80k miles on it. It runs and drives perfectly, but the body is shot obviously. It was crushed bad but I pushed the roof back out with blocks and jacks, lifted it and put big tires on it. Haha! But the time has arrived that I need the parts much more than the car. It has very little interior and leaks like a sieve. Something that might help you too that I know is that if you remove the wipers that cowling comes right off and gives you a ton of working room. Not sure, but I think if you removed that you could easily get the engine out with the intake attached. Any advice you can give on pulling it as a unit is appreciated. I don't have a way to do it from the bottom, so this is a big question for me. Thanks!!

Theres a bellhousing from thailand you can buy that mates right up to that trans. Its shorter for your original input shaft.

No one shows u own to unplug the main harness. I know u have to twist to remove it but what's locking it in to keep it from unlocking?

ya. they have those oil extractor pumps for european cars. pump out as much as it will. then when you open the drain plug you’ll have just a little. but your idea to put tape there was supee smart. 😊
