    you must be a special kind of retarded to not even put ucp up here. also i'm not gonna watch your video since you unbearably stupid, but the chinese cloud pattern was used ONLY FOR CEREMONIAL PURPOSES, if you did your research you would know this but apparently that's too hard. also desert night camoflauge was designed to disguise the wearer from iraqi night vision goggles you sped. put china's fire-fighter pattern up here why don't you since you clearly know nothing about camofluage. also north korean duck hunter actually has a chance of blending in unlike ucp. do your research you dingbat

    DNC was designed to fool first gen night vision, which works by using an external IR illumator. Later generations instead pick up on ambient light that is otherwise too dim, which is why NVG's usually don't work in a completely lightless environment, although the solution to this is an IR illuminator (Like so much in the military, it came back full circle). In fact, earlier pieces of DNC straight up glow under NOD's. Still doesn't change the fact that it's neat and I have an irrational fondness for it

  • @Riceball01

    The US Army didn't completely abandon the idea of night vision camouflage after the original desert night pattern. It could be argued that UCP was a night vision pattern since, from what I've read, the colors used in UCP were chosen specifically for how they appeared under IR light. The Army conducted tests and chose the light, medium, and dark colors that performed the best under IR light and didn't blend into each other when viewed under IR light.

    I don't think the North Korean pattern is that bad. There are several Soviet/Russian bright green patterns that blend very effectively with leaves and grass in the spring and summer. Although those patterns are commonly used on reversible oversuits with a brown pattern on the other side for more drab environments.

      @@frostydrifter There are several, some have a drab reverse side due to less of the dye coming through, like most Partizan and Sumrak suits, while others like the Partizan-M have a printed brown pattern on the reverse. Even the standard issue 6Sh122 suit has a tan/green side and a brown/grey side.

    I remember watching a history/artifact show with my stepmother and they talked about gladiators. I always thought they were slaves and criminals put in the arena for various reasons. That show taught me that those slaves and gladiators are different. The real money from gladiators was people's attachment to them. Everyone had a favorite gladiator, them surviving more than a day made it easier when choosing who to bet on. They were also more fatty in appearance than muscular as they were fed a diet meant to give them more meat so that they could take hits and lose a lot of blood without easily dying. Basically stories where sold to the people, the more beloved a gladiator the more likely people where willing to bet high on them.

    Honestly the M3 Lee gets a lot of undo hate. Yes it's a little funky and not the most modern, but it was generally liked by its 6-7 man crews (unless they're Soviet). As well the 75mm was a fantastic gun, and helped prove the tank plenty capable in north africa. And it was able to do that because simply, the M3 Lee/Grant was good at what it was, a stop gap measure.

      Agree. If you've ever played AH's Tobruk, and struggled fielding 2 pdr.-armed British tanks against PZ III's, anything with a 75mm cannon is a gift from God. Of course, they tend to attract attention from any 88's in the neighborhood...

  • @herheartbeats5727

    Many interesting things here...though I don't think both the US M3 and the French B-tank were THAT bad at the time. . The most available "strong" tank in the Axis then was the Pz-III...whose armor surely couldn't prevent the thing from blowing like a crakerbox(full of gasoline and ammo) at the first piercing hit of a 45mm...which caliber both tanks had in turret. . And the Pz-III's turret gun at the time was a 37 mm, whose shells probably couldn't put either a M3 or a B-tank down except when scarcely hitting a weak point in armor. . Ok, the B-tank's ergonomics were SPECIFICALLY bad...it was a stupidity to let the tank commander alone in a cramped turret doing everything, commanding, loading, firing, radio communications...all with no 360° vision but to spread all torso out of the (back) turret hatch, which would have meant bad news on the frontline. And I won't even speak about the very hard to steer 75 mm front bow howitzer. . Anyway, I still think the Axis gained their first victories through superior cross-weapon coordination, transmission and frontline scouting...not with any individual tank superiority.

    This is the real deal on Latin. There were three Latins at the time: what we call Old Latin, Latina Prisca; Classical Latin, which is a purely literary language; Vulgar Latin. In Latin vulgus means crowd, so it’s the Latin of the ordinary people. Old Latin, the Latin of Terence, Plautus and Cato the Elder, was different in grammar, syntax and lexis from what came later. The date usually given for its disappearance is c.100BC, which happens to be when Caesar was born. In common Latin, there were different words (lexis). For example, the Classical Latin word for horse was equus (hence equestrian). VL said caballus (hence cavalier, etc.). The CL word for head was caput (hence capital) while VL said testa, literally pot Think of the word for head in French, Spanish, etc. By the second century AD, the language had changed. A man named Probus wrote a grammar book and its appendix, the Appendix Probi, lists all the things people say but in his opinion shouldn’t. For example people were saying mascel and femel, but he reminds the reader that the correct words are masculinus and feminina. You may notice that the two wrong words gave us male and female. He also says that people are forgetting to add the m at the ends of words in the accusative (direct object) case. He says, I know we don’t say it it anymore, but you must remember to add it in writing. Another loss he Notes is the final s in masculine nouns and also the n in consonant clusters. Constantine would have in his time actually have been pronounced Costatinu by many. The infamous Latin v, as in Life of Brian, was indeed a W in Classical Latin, but slowly became bv in VL, and eventually v as we have it today. All this was part of my doctoral research.

    The Roman Empire did not last for 2000 years. It was founded in 27 BC. Just about 16 centuries. If you include the Roman Kingdom and the Roman Republic, you can also include the Papal States. Ancient Rome is about 8th century BC to 6th century AD. Then you can’t include Byzantium. While it was the Roman Empire, it ruled over Rome until the 8th century AD, after that Rome was ruled by the popes.

    BC, not BCE. The Gregorian Calendar is the most accurate calendar ever devised. Saying BCE is an insult to the religion that invented it. Saying BCE is just saying that you hate Catholics.

    • @Joanna-il2ur
      @Joanna-il2ur Рік тому

      The Gregorian calendar wasn’t what invented BC and AD. Those were invented as Latin versions of Greek words invented by Exiguus, a monk in Alexandria in the sixth century. It was popularised by Bede, the Northumbrian chronicler in one of the twenty books he wrote, On the Measurement of Time, in about 700AD. The calendar they both used is the Julian Calendar, invented by Julius Caesar.
