VA Appeals to the Board Explained by an Accredited Claims Agent
Thanks for this video. I have been looking into becoming a caregiver and this information is very helpful. I have a question. I have a vet who wants to get back into the workforce (remote to start would be best)...But I know they're also going to need a lot of work re-acclimating themselves socially and learning how to communicate, set and meet goals and deadlines...and even learning what their skillset is, what they like doing or would thrive in, etc. Do you have any resources for career counseling for vets?
Totally! Have you looked into the VAs vocational rehab program?
@@prestigeveteranmedical I have not. But I will! Thank you so much!! I started creating a spreadsheet to keep track of all of these resources. There's so much out there. Will definitely add this one to the list.

I'm diagnosed with laryngopharyngeal reflux. How is that rated?
I am not really sure about that. You may want to check with a VSO. They should be able to look it up
I am a nurse practitioner and have just landed a job for VA exams. Great info! Thank you!
Awesome! Best of luck to you with this!!
I was told by my caregiver that comes to my house that at the end of the year the Care Giver Program was closing and id stop receiving those benefits.
I have not heard that sir but I hope not!
I checked off all the boxes you mentioned, I have migraines, very bad headaches, ED from zolof and gird and ibs. I may have sleep apnea because I never feel fully rested and I've gained weight with flat footed. Now I just need help to file a claim.
I am sorry to hear this! Have you gotten with your local VSO? They should be able to help you file your claim

After having a C&P exam for knees 4 months ago VA is going to get a medical opinion from another doctor for which I don’t need to attend. Is that normal?
I am not really sure sure because there are so many reasons/variables that can go into that.
What do you do if you need an MH BDQ but dont want to pay thousands of dollars for you?
The VA will do one for you for free when you go to an exam.
@@prestigeveteranmedical Are you referring to a C&P or a regular exam?
@KBoogie202757 either would be no cost

GERD caused OSA for me. The obesity often comes after OSA starts kicking in. It's hard to lose weight if you can't sleep.
I am sorry to hear this! I agree it is hard to lose weight in general especially if you can't get any sleep!
Thank you for your videos. I have a question related to MS. I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS 11 years after active duty, but 3 years after time in the National Guard. Would the presumptive period be based on time after active duty, or would time after serving in the NG also be applicable?
That is a great question. I am not 100% sure on that. I am very sorry to hear this and thank you for watching
@@prestigeveteranmedical I'm very fortunate. I was diagnosed 24 years ago, and my MS is under control for the most part. Thanks for the great content. 👍

What about physical therapy or letter of statement from physical therapist? Or do they not care about therapy idk anymore lol
It may be helpful. It just depends on the specifics
Glad they now offer legal and medical advice for discharged vets ,Served 1966-1970 they showed us the door. Got involved with the va in 2010 ,and they act like theyre doing me a favour.

If a claim is denied based on your nexus letter, do you charge a fee to reword the nexus letter?
claims are not denied based upon my letters. They may be denied based upon the veterans specific case which is multifactorial. I do not reword my letters in response to administrative denials this is often when accredited legal professionals can be very helpful.
I filled for GERD and IBS. Both were denied and I was NEVER sent to a C&P Exam :(
I am sorry to hear this sir. Thank you for watching
Thank you very much for this. I have my C&P coming up for my shoulder

As a disable veteran, I have VA health care plus Medicare part B to overlap programs that are available to me.😊
Thank you for the insight my friend
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching!
I am confused about the way the VA describes presumptive, it would lead you to believe that no exam is necessary if you met the PACT Act/ Gulf War Presumptive but yet you get a C&P exam!?
Presumptive just means that the nexus is established based upon certain criteria. The C&P exam is there to confirm the diagnosis and also to provide the severity. How would the VA know what percentage to assign otherwise?
@@prestigeveteranmedical Thank you, the fog of confusion has lifted!😀

I got a hearing for IBS that was denied twice for no service connection. It was diagnosed in 2019. The VA website says IBS is a presumptive for Gulf War Veterans ( which I am) and can claim any time after separation and don't have to prove a connection to service. My hearing is in Aug. after a long 4 year wait. Will the judge rule in my favor and will I get back pay if he does?
It really just depends on the specifics of your case sir but I sure hope so. Keep us posted!
Get with your VA Social Worker to see if your are eligible for this or any other that is available.
That is a great tip sir! Thank you for watching.
Good luck. They deny everyone for the Care Givers program.
I am sorry to hear you experienced this sir
Does this extend to community care?
I am not sure about that sir. You can always ask
I have psoriatic arthritis and lichen sclerosis and am a Gulf War vet and have not seen much on these and they are now considered presumptive. I think.
I am sorry to hear this. Thank you for watching
I just had my C&P exam for heart conditions last weeks and only had my B/P and pulse taken. The examiner did not listen to my heart or lungs and we did not discuss the METs or anything at all. Did ask about what testing I have or had. I have yearly echocardiograms which were scanned in with my claim but she couldn't find them. She did ask about medication that I take. Kind of frustrating, but if I am denied for this claim, do I have recourse because she didn't go through the DBQ? Thank you
I am not sure about that. They do not have to do interview based METS if they have METS testing available in your records
I have an appointment with a VSO in about 3 weeks for a supplemental claim for OSA. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to acquire a nexus letter between my SC depressive disorder to OSA with obesity as an intermediate step
That is totally up to you sir. Nexus letters are a personal choice based upon your circumstances. If you would like more info on our services please email us at info@prestigeveteranmctx.com
Can you please tell us the name of the articles you mentioned for GERD and NSAID usage? I was denied a secondary claim for GERD from chronic NSAID usage for knee pain.
The names are listed in the video
Served with 3rd Rangers from 1989 to 1993. I am bone on bone in my left hip. I have osteoarthritis in both knees, and my ankles hurt and make noise. The VA tells me its not related to jumping. They say there's no harmful side effects from being a paratrooper.
I am sorry to hear this sir. Thank you for watching
I recently won a claim for IBS secondary to anxiety and PTSD but was denied GERD for the same thing, with the VA rater citing that GERD is not a valid secondary condition to PTSD. I'm guessing that I can fight back and win this claim, because my mental rating includes anxiety, PTSD, and depression, but the rater cited only PTSD in the denial. There is documented medical studies linking anxiety to GERD, and the rater ignored mentioning this in the denial.
I am sorry to hear this sir. Thank you for watching
New to your page 😊 Are we to include these articles as support in our claims? Trying to prep fully in fighting a denial. Thanks
Thank you for watching! I am not really to sure about that as I am not an expert in the filling/administrative process. Best of luck to you
i needed this!
Thank you for watching!
My diagnosis was for 1 foot, by the time i got a nexus pain was in both feet and the c&p exam was for just the 1 foot. Still waiting decision, if they rate only 1 foot should i file a HLR or file for aggregation?

You can expect the interviewer to be the biggest POS non-caring, rude, inconsiderate human being on the face of the Earth because they probably again never served and don’t give a damn because the majority of people that work at the VA or just there to get a free check themselves they don’t give a damn about helping veterans and this is someone speaking from experience
