They just raised the prices to $3 dollars for a movie lol Popcorn, hot dog and a soda combo will run you around $8-$10 bucs so again less than back home. Plus they show some English movies as well! The last movie I saw was the new Deadpool Wolverine movie, which was great!

@mastersparkyful we have been living here for over a decade and never had an issue. Meanwhile, back in the US, you have daily mass shootings, road rage, school shootings, etc etc, and crazy amounts of violence. Even Mexico has regular amounts of violence against tourists when our area of Manta is extremely rare. We, as well as our growing number of clients, feel very safe living the beach life here in Manta:) But all that being said, we always invite people to come visit the area and see for themselves. @@mastersparkyful yes I know Don very well and we are good friends. I also know about the time you are referring to. The guy was a local Ecuadorian (not a tourist or expat) and it was discovered that it was an inside job from people that knew that he was taking $15k dollars in cash out of the bank that day. I wouldn't do that in the US or anywhere else for that matter. Keep in mind also that we don't have regular mass shootings, school shootings, road rage shootings, home invasions, etc etc etc like in the US. In recent months I have heard about a sniper in Charlotte NC that killed people at random, a guy in Boston that stabbed three girls in a movie theater for no reason, another school shooting in CA and in GA, 9 people shot in a IL McDonalds, the list goes on and on and on in the US. So far in 2024 the US has had over 485 mass shootings, and over 600 mass shootings every year for the past 4yrs. The recent power issue was due to the worst drought in about 70yrs that caused power rationing until the reservoir for hydro could be replenished. Now things are coming back to normal and the President just announced that the power outages will be terminated on December 20th so all good. On a side note, all of the newer condo towers have full generators and most new homes have them or are at least wired for them, so people still have power. Again, we invite you and others to come visit for yourself sometime and see first hand how things are here. We wish you the best and Merry Christmas!

@@mastersparkyfullol nah, I just like informing people as much as we can and answering questions bud. As for the State Department, it seems that they list every country on earth as an advisory lol. Meanwhile plenty of countries also have travel advisories against the US too. In the current world times we say this.... pretty much anywhere on earth there are issues, no place is perfect, but you do your best to not be a target. Here in EC we say don't go into the worst neighborhoods with your MR. T gold starter kit or join a criminal gang, and you should be just fine. Over the years we have heard about some pick pockets, maybe a couple purse snatches or a cell phone grab and other things of opportunity, but we don't have tourists being targeted and killed like in Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic etc. And again we don't worry about the daily violence against the public like the US does. For these and other reasons we have more and more people choosing our area and other areas of Ecuador to call home, and they are enjoying life! If it's not for you then that's cool, everyone has their own boxes to check when looking outside the US. We still always wish you and everyone else the best in your search:)

Yes, the Ibiza has a full building generator that powers the entire structure, all condos fully, pool pumps etc, and it comes on automatically if we lose power. Another nice bonus! Hey Randy good evening, so the HOA for all of the amenities is actually right on target as most buildings do not have this much community/green space, especially with only one tower, nor are they in a gated neighborhood. Plus the building has a full water filtration system as well, the only one I know of for a high rise building in the area. The terrace is a bit deceiving as it wraps around, so the front portion is long and perfect for relaxing chairs viewing the ocean, while the side portion is more open to allow for dining table and BBQ:) Thanks as always for your support and have a great week!

Short answer is yes, Ecuador remains safe for foreigners and the beach life is still wonderful! The criminal activity was towards rival factions so the public was not really involved, especially in our area. We have been here for over a decade with no issues or worries. We always invite people to come down for a visit and check out the area for yourself though. At the very least you will have a great vacation, and at the best you will find your dream place on the beach! Hope to see you in the future!

Good afternoon Scot, so this being a condo I believe it would be possible, as long as your battery could tie into your fuse box. I'm not an electrician so I would defer to a professional in our network to be sure it could be done. And the outages in Manta recently have been due to the drought that the country is experiencing for the first time in 70yrs, so not a normal thing. Thank you for asking! Tiffany's surgery went very well, and she is doing much better! She had C1-C2 fused and has already finished her rehab and is continuing to strengthen. If you were asking about my shoulder, thankfully it was only a slight tear and I already have full range of movement and back in the gym, but continuing to go a little light on press exercises until back to normal.
