This was a fantastic video! Thank you!!!! ❤
I put it in my compost.
Hello! Thank you for what you're doing! I love your skill to transmit very clear informations. I have one question, if you could help me. A have a tone of "Hibiscus Syriacus - Blue Oiseau" and I can't find any information about making tea. Do you know if is safe to drink tea form these flowers or other parts?
What weeping tree is good for Zone 9?
Jane's always the bomb!!!
She's the bomb.com for sure!
Shane is was searching for some info about myrtles and saw your video. I called my wife to run and look at what I found. So cool to see someone you know on UA-cam. We are Green Biz fans and now we know why…experts such as yourself.
Ohhh, this is wonderful! Thank you for the kind words and comment. Welcome to the family! 💚
Thank you so much! Very helpful! Well done!
Glad it was helpful! 💚
Well, you have done a wonderful job of both informing with great articulation AND demonstration...thank you immensely.
You're very welcome! So happy to help! 💚
Great video! I first noticed it while watering my potted basil. The pot started letting out a black fume and I freaked out! Glad to know this is a mold. I am wondering if the black fumes/dust will cause more kf these to grow around in my yard 🤔
Yes, that black plume is full of mold spores!
hello, this was very interesting. however, can you provide a fertilizer type to feed the trees and when to apply to mature trees. I have 7 trees however they are not blooming as well as they should. thanks.... !
Great information, thank you! I'm planning on planting a crepe myrtle in my yard. How long does a new planting take to start blooming?
Depends on the size that you purchase. Usually, 3 gallon Crape Myrtles are too young to bloom; however, a 15 gallon is 3-4 years old and will bloom!
Thank you very much! Great information!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, my crape myrtles were doing just fine but for a few days im seeing the flowers dying. Its too hot in houston probably that is the reason, how often should i water them to overcome it. Can i do something else? Pls let me know thank you
It is probably due to drought and heat. While they are very drought and heat tolerant, they may still show signs of stress. You can water thoroughly every other day and that should help.

I just planted 2 patio hybiscus im in Missouri will my plants be ok for the winter?
PRABABLY should of left the patio hybiscus plans in there pots ? Was it a bad thing I planted them in the ground?
Yes, it will get too cold for them over winter. Next time plant them in pottery and move them indoors for winter or in the garage.
I love this video. It’s very comprehensive. Although I do need, or rather would like to state my experience with a couple of the things you said that are a bit contradictory. I kept and have kept Hardy hibiscus, or, the perennial variety for decades now. And, mine grow closer to 10 feet tall and about the same diameter around. Usually I have to stake them up and tie them back. And, that is including cutting them back to the ground every year. I also have had rose of Sharon in multiple homes, multiple trees or rather shrubs. Although, I use the word tree because that’s exactly what mine turned into. They were closer to 15 or 20 feet tall, and we kept them trimmed to look like trees. Are these the same type of rose of Sharon that you are talking about? Thank you for the awesome video.🐠🦯
Hi! Thanks for the comment. Yes, these Rose of Sharons can turn into some large shrubs/trees!
Very helpful. Thanks. But I’d also like to know how much fertilizer to use for a tree in the ground.
Hi there. It depends on the size of the plant and the type of fertilizer. The fertilizer bag should say how much to use based on the size of the tree.
enjoyed your video and keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
How often should i water my newly planted .myrtle tree in a hot texas weather? I have 4 10 footer and 1 30 foot myrtles
Hi, there! We have a video on watering in new plants! 👇🏾 ua-cam.com/video/Z2N0K-Ue1h4/v-deo.html
The tropical Hibiscus is my favorite flower.
Mine too!
Excellent info!
Glad it was helpful!
Awsome video thank you Mrs.Crepe Myrtle ❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Awesomely informative! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
What kind is that purple crepe myrtle? What is it called?
Hi, there! This one is a Zuni!
Thank you so much for this video! So many people come down here and don't know what'll work best.
You're so welcome!
SIX WEEKS, JUST LONG ENOUGH TO EAT ALLLLLLLLLLLL MY SWEET FIGS
Ugh, I know! 😞
How long from “bud” stage to “flower “🌺 stage?
anywhere from 1 week to 4 weeks depending on water, temps, and light.
Amazing video! Super informative can’t wait to take our crepe myrtles to the next level. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Subbed. Good info.👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
Can you guys upload a Hydrangea video? Pleeeeeeeaaaase!
You got it!
Hi! I just planted 8 Crape Myrtles in my front yard! Thank you for the video and advice. I am clueless on how to care for them. I’ve always loved Myrtles and finally decided to plant my own. They are Miss Sandra CM. ❤
So happy to help!
It is not a fungus, not a plant or an animal. It is in fact an intelligent organism that can solve mazes....
Lol!
Why? They will help your soil!
We receive a lot of calls about this stuff! Some people just want it gone.
Hello, our crape myrtles, at a recently purchased home, do not bloom-- what can we do about that, try to trim back? They are approx 20 ft tall, thank you!
Nice video!! Are you able to explain how to know if my crepe Myrtle is dead?
You can either scratch the bark and look for a green layer or wait for spring in your area to come and see if it leafs out.
Will give it a try! Thanks for that information 😃
Great info from fellow UA-camrs!
Your very knowledgeable. Thank you
So nice of you!
You should consider starting a channel or playlist for how to's or other tutorials for people just starting out in the garden center business. I own a small hardware store and we're trying to grow our garden center area - so just having video's from you for not only the owner but also our staff to educate them would be amazing. I know a lot of us are in the same boat, so you would have a lot of very appreciative supporters. You could do everything from stocking plants and determining inventory needs for zones and demographics. Or setting up displays, layouts or the appropriate structures for retail environment; or even what to water with sprinklers or how to deal with the plants the days the business is closed to budgeting and calculating margins for owners. And for associates videos on how to care for plants at different sizes - such as watering or pruning or to know if the plant is not healthy and needs to be discontinued or disposed. Just a central place for all of us to get the same valuable education to be able to help each other grow. This area is so scarce in resources and I truly feel like you could make a big impact with the value of your knowledge and experience.
We might just do that!
What do I do with my hibiscus plants in the winter?? Do we have to cover them or do anything special??
Depends on the type and where you live. If it is the tropical, you will need to bring it indoors (inside the house or garage). If it gets below 50-55 degrees, it will need to come in or be covered.
Thanks for the great video. I have very tall crape Myrtles. Probably almost 30 feet tall. I barely get any flowers on the top. Since I can’t reach those seed pods, how can I encourage more flowers?
Fertilizing may help produce more flowers, but removing the seed pods is the best way unfortunately
Saw this on my black mulch and freaked out
It does look creepy!
how much distance i need to leave between my autumn lily azaleas?
4-4.5 feet apart.
Best Crepe Myrtle UA-cam.., Thank you very much. Any specific recommendation on insecticides for each of the problems?
Thanks! Neem oil works great, as does any insecticidal soap.
I have a 20” wide pot that I would like to plant a Hibiscus in. I would want the shorter type (3-5ft. Max). I live in Zone 8 I believe, on the border of Arkansas and Texas. I have seen Hibiscus all over and love them. I’m wondering, if I pant them in a pot and bring them in, in the winter, what temperature should I wait until it gets down to before bringing them in? We typically have mild winters, but in the last four years, have had 3 really hard freezes.
Yes, it wouldn't hurt to bring it in. Anything below 32 should do.
My tree has something that looks like moss on the trunk and is not growing since the landscaper severely pruned it during the winter. What can I do to help the tree grow . The nursery recommended to spray liquid copper fungicide. Is that ok to do in this situation?
Yes, copper fungicide should work fine. Just don't get it on the leaves.
thanks. this was helpful.
You’re welcome!
Speaking of fire ants I heard they are attracted to these trees
They're not attracted to these trees, but attracted to the sugary excretion from the aphids that can be on Crape Myrtles.
Mine haven’t bloomed in 2 years
Have you tried pruning off the seed pods?
What can you do if the crape myrtle has never blossomed?
prune off seed pods, fertilize.
Thank you
I live in North Carolina and my palm does great lol
That's great!
Thank you
You're welcome
