The fact that it came with that Wilson combat ghost ring sight is a HUGE upgrade. You really lucked out on that deal. Congrats! I’m a sucker for the 870 police trade ins. I have 4 of them now. Some wood furniture. Some polymer furniture. One is a gorgeous polished blue.

Best part of US mess kit was that you could put the utensils along with the top cover attached to the bottom pan and hold the long handle and dip them into a large boiling can of water to clean after eating.

I carry a 6 inch knife as my EDC and I have many. On my EDC blades I Velcro and zip tie a multitool pouch. On my camping blades I add a pouch with a large ferro rod, striker and a thick stick of fat wood. With a couple Bic's in my pocket or pack. A have a couple Wazoo fire cards that really is the bomb.

nooooo cotton u will die. wool or synthetic. u will get wet and cotton pulls heat from your body.as soon as u sweat or get wet. under armor is my go to. stay warm even when wet.

I have a bk9 and the sheath pouch I have a multi tool..ferro rod..magnesium bar. Attached to the sheath and removable is a compas and cotton balls with Vaseline

I have a large Alice pack and it is big and its great for bushcraft

CCW is the best water bottle pocket and stuff-it pouch. :) It can even hold ipad in hard case, etc. Very versatile bag. Love it!

Not bad. I think you did a good job. You may want to train her in setting up tarps because bivys tend to build up moisture. I would recommend you use a 20 degree sleeping bag and a backpack. What you have there is good for EDC. Also a Bugout bag needs warm weather gear such as Jacket, puffy, fleece combination.

Have 2 twelve's and a seventy two, very good bags.

That turned out really good! You perfectly showed why people just spray them down instead of what you did which wasn't easy lol, rattle can gets that battle worn look with some use and blends even better than ceracoat imo. One thing I've noticed is larger patterns camouflage better than smaller ones, with smaller stencils you get more detail and it looks better. While larger stencils seem to blend better because the small detail gets lost with distance and appears almost as one color, larger colored areas don't lose as much camouflage effect with distance from what I can tell. Just think like Bob Ross when painting them, and it could never be wrong! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for showing!

Best use of folding shovels is as an adze, swing it between your legs. It needs to have a heavy blade as you're using the momentum to chop the ground, light is not best for that. Having said that, most of the folding, screw to lock, military knock-offs fail in this mode when the blade lock fails to hold in place. The german style one with the button is good in this respect. Do not use the tri-fold types as a lever in hard ground as most will fail. They are 'Adze/Shovels', so chop the ground and shovel out the loose stuff you create. Have fun out there!
