OMG! THANK YOU FOR THIS!! This video helped fix my problem! I thought I was going to have to call someone to rip me off to come and fix it 😅 What I was doing wrong was not realizing that the white part (mine is black) needed to reengage. I was pressing the garage door opener, and I heard the motor but thought it wasn't working because the door wasn't opening right away. But I just needed to give it time to reengage with the door. I'm so happy I could fix this on my own with your help! Thank you SO much!!! The reason I had to pull the emergency cord in the first place was because I realized one of the sensors were misaligned. I must've been hitting every time I moved my recycling bin.

I've watched a lot of videos on how to reengage the garage door opener mechanism but none of them demonstrated the trick as clearly as you did. Good job! Thanks a ton for saving me a lot of headache and $75 on the service fee!

So a friend bought a house and owner said garage stop working last 2 yrs but rarely use their garage so never fix it. I went there and this was the issue 😂😂😂. But also there is a stopper that tell garage you sent to far, that needed to be adjust to.

I watched 17 videos - same crap over and over, like the copycat each other. This girl saved me $150 for the service call today and in the future. The trick was to pay attention that in other videos the model of emergency pull mechanism was slightly different, and that is why what was seemingly a simple fix did not work for my door.

Before Milton hurricane I disengaged it for manual operation. It seems , at some point in time, I must have tried operating from the wall console hence the separation of carriage. Thankyou SO much! Saved a call out fee and for a 5 second fix. It worked on my Marantec 270 where the chain wasn't moving at all, despite the motor working. I opened the door all the way manually (it didn't engage with the carriage) but when I used the remote control it reengaged and voila! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
