- Putting rubber bands on braces is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but this video gives some tips as to ways to do that as a first time user. Also, I have a rubber band that crosses over my teeth in the back, which is more complicated than the standard ways to wear rubber bands, so if you have the same thing, this video will be especially helpful.
As a bonus, I included a couple tips on how what to do with your rubber bands while you eat because, let's face it, the plate or a napkin are not always the best options.
#braces
i got assigned elastic bands on my braces today and the tips in this video were helpful and reassuring. i appreciate you going over what band pattern is usually first assigned to patients at 5:55, the two front and bottom hooks because that's also what i've been instructed to do and i'm sure many others. great vid!
Perfect beauty and perfect smile
Thanks! :)
Braces closeup please 🙏
Planning to work on this! I've had a lot of people asking for a close up video. :)
Can you show your teeth extreme up close and show your back molars in detail please
Yep! I haven't had the time to make this one just yet (because I need my husband to help with the filming), but I'm hoping to do soon. My goal for this one is to get it filmed and posted in the next few weeks.
what made u go with the full metal look
This is a great question! I talk about that a bit in my other video (here: see around minute 7:42: ua-cam.com/video/qu2jwwHwpH0/v-deo.html). I went with full metal brackets for two reasons: they're stronger than the materials used to make the tooth-colored brackets and the only put the porcelain or ceramic braces on the front six teeth or so. I have a very wide smile, so I was nervous that it would look strange or like my braces just started on my back teeth. Honestly, it probably wouldn't have looked bad, but I don't mind the metal ones, so I don't regret the decision.
have u tried any colors
Unfortunately, for the rubber bands that are shown in this video, the orthodontist never gave me an option for colors. They always give me the yellowish-clear ones that you see here. But if I did have that option, I definitely would have gotten colors!
@@plantedbywater I think they maybe giving u the basic ones bcoz you're an adult. Ask them if they have colors!
@@rexiioper6920 I never thought of that, but that's a good idea! I do have a rubber band that runs across all of my top teeth, and they always give me options for colors for that. I always choose silver for that one because I do want that one to be less noticeable (mostly because I teach at a university and I'm often mistaken for a student). I would say maybe that's why they give me the basic ones for the rubber bands that fix the bite, but the conversations always happen at different times. I should ask, though, because I think it would be fun to have colors. :)
@@plantedbywater literally the only fun thing about braces besides the results!!! what do u teach at uni (u must be clever lol) and don't some of the students have braces too?
@@rexiioper6920 That's true! Haha I am getting to the point where I'm pretty anxious to get my braces off. I mostly teach college composition, but I teach professional writing once in a while too. And yes, some students do have braces too lol. I've also had students tell me they thought I was a student when they first met me, so that's always fun haha.
