proper job 💪
Awesome Man, Nice job
Thanks for the update Carl. It's looking good. I bought your plans & have got most of the materials & local supplier costs written up. Ran out of time this year, so saving your project up for Spring 2025 in the garden space I've prepared. Thanks again. Geoff
Good luck with the project next year Geoff, you’ll smash it mate 👍🏻
DPM same as pond liner?
Hope I can build it!!!
You can do it 👍🏻
Nice work, looking to do similar. Rough costs on materials so far? 👍🤔
Need to sit down and work it out but around £500
@@thediyfix cheers👍👍
Good shed build
Thanks Shaun 👍🏻
Good video...! All important points mentioned... and the practical demonstration... Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Did a great job bud , works for a company that does em , can’t fault it 👍
Cheers mate appreciate that from a professional
thank you for sharing, appreciate it!
Your very welcome
It is beautiful
That’s very kind thank you
Did you wrap around the DPM?
Good video buddy. Nice little gym there! What size is your internal floor space in metres? And is your rubber flooring adhered to the subfloor or just dry laid?
Thanks Marcus, it’s roughly 2.4 x 3.8 meters. You can see a video of me fitting the floor here: ua-cam.com/video/6smq2WVxo8A/v-deo.html
Brilliant stuff mate!
Thanks Liam
A year already 😮. It's held up extremely well, it was an excellent project.
Yeah one year has flown by Peter
Thanks so much for sharing the update, I've watched your build videos quite a few times now as inspiration and I'm just trying to attempt a build myself. I'm just about to finish the shuttering in order to get the concrete poured in the coming weeks. It's probably not the most ideal time of year due to the weather but oh well! Thanks again for sharing, really enjoyed this update and glad that you're enjoying your extra space!
Thanks mate. I wouldnt worry to much about the weather just get the walls up and roof on and then lots of the work is inside
Still looks great Carl. Im putting aircon in my place as it keeps you warm in winter without condensation on windows and comfortable in summer. For the outside moss, i use white vinegar. Works great on a mossy fence too.
Yeah aircon is proabbaly a good idea. I'll give the vinegar a go
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Brilliant video. I’m going to attempt this build 👌🏻
Glad you found it useful Chris
@@thediyfix I’m actually going to use the frame instructions to build an outside work style bench with shelves. It will go under my car port and store bits and bobs. I’m going to use bevelled feet due to sloping drive. But essentially, two rear frames, 2 side frames and go from there. MDF shelves. So, got myself some projects 👍
Brilliant. This is the FIRST and ONLY youtube instructional video that I have watched with a tolerable pace to it. Great job of not blathering on with self indulging garble nobody wants to hear. Steady progress throughout the entire thing! Hats off to you!
Glad you liked it Matthew
Do you remember what this entire build cost by any chance?
Just over £7k. The exact price is at the end of the main timelapse video of this entire build
I thought the point of using nails was because the tensile strength of nails is stronger and they won't snap unlike a screw?
Yeah nails are stronger.
You are seriously underplaying your skillset. Great job, mate.
Thanks for the kind compliment
1 question. Do you need planning to build one?
You need to follow certain rules to stay within permitted development
What gauge dpm is that?
You've got amazing skills, bro!👏👏
Thanks a lot Darren
thanks for the video but hope you talk about materials etc than story , make another short with names of materials and explain alternatives etc
other people who creating clip must learn from you , totally useful and powerful
Cheers mate
V nice, how much did it cost. Thanks
Just over £7k
Just about to build my room. before adding the the front piece to the roof do you plumb cut the rafters or just keep them square. So if just left does the fascia sit at a slight angle thanks
Yeah I just left them square. The angle is so small it’s not noticeable
Awesome job mate! I'm inspired to do the same! Thanks!
Go for it mate
I’ve been thinking of doing something similar to my cellar. It’s quite damp down there but I just want to make it a bit more pleasant than now, not a ‘habitable room’. This looks like an affordable quick fix solution but this survive in a cellar?
Tanking slurry is great it would work well in a basement
Hi, how did you know what depth to dig down ? is there a recommended depth that the height pg the timber frame needs to be to support the mot type 1 and then the cement ? Ideally I would want the shed base to be slightly above ground level
Honestly I didnt have a set depth I just leveled it, which meant the highest point on the right was down 75-80mm and the lowest point on the back left was pretty much flush with the original ground level
I wanted to see the inside 😢
I’ll be doing a one year update in the next week or two, so will be showing the inside in that vid
Thanks for the video mate!
No problem 👍
Looks wicked 👌
Thanks
Any problems removing the wooden form?
No I burnt it out
Great Video ❤
Glad you enjoyed
Good job - very professional.
Thanks
Top job 👍🏼
Thank you
Didn't catch in the video when you put the angled piece of wood in there. Whyd you angle it instead of having it run straight? Also would you mind sharing how big this platform is? I'd like to make one for my shed as well and Im not sure how to space the bars / shims
This is for UK only.
Perfect
Thanks
Beautiful job.
Thank you
Great work pal
cheers mate
Great video, I'm about to start building my garden room! I'm very new to this so have no idea!!! I noticed you used a breathable membrane on the outside but none breathable on the inside, should it not all be breathable? Thanks
The purpose of the internal membrane is to stop moisture passing through the walls and ceiling into the timber. Therefore it doesnt want to be breathable
Did you use for the openings the black material?
It was just part of the cat flap, it came in a few bits
Great job. I did the same myself with no help. Definitely the hardest part was the ceiling plasterboard. I used 15mm soundboard. Did it myself using a deadman prop and screwing into the walls temporarily to hold one side.
Yeah I actually got help with that bit so well dome managing on your own
If I could afford ot buy a house I'd definitely do something like this. Looks great
Thanks
lovely
Thanks
