Yeah, let me know when a metric country puts a man on the moon! Get yourself a metric ruler and use it on a small project and you will see just how practical it is. It makes thing so easy that I'm almost ready to convert. The only thing holding me back is the hundreds of dollars that I've spent on Imperial Woodpecker squares :-)

Coasters should not have a finish on them. Their main purpose is to absorb the water from the glass so it does not damage the table. If it has a finish on it water will run directly to the surface and it will defeat its purpose. My opinion.

I’m in the US where we use the stupid imperial system. I have started building in metric as of about a year ago and it is unbelievably so much easier to use and will make you wonder why the hell we have imperial. What’s 5’ 9-11/16” divided by 3? Nobody knows. What’s 177 cm dived by 3?

I believe people don’t like the metric system simply because they’re unfamiliar with it and are used to the imperial system...
