Ok I’m getting them. I had purchased the Kwik Stix several years ago for my 3 and 1 yr old g-babies, but I didn’t get to play with them much. They did make some beautiful art with them, but I’m kinda thinking the shuttle art brand might be a bit better! Does anyone have any feedback on whether or not that’s true?

I LOVE THIS! My daughter is homeschooling her 9, 7, and 4 year olds, and this would make such a great art class collab using all 3 of their prior works into one unified piece! And then the masterpiece gets hung. LOVE IT! ❤

wow. this was a great video. i cant tell you how much this normalized the feelings of doubt, inadequacy feeling like my work is not good enough to call myself an artist. It is one of the only pieces i have seen where you honestly share your thoughts and process and in the end,, can still step back and say, you dont like it but it might still have life left. Coming along on this ride was inspiring for me and so i thank you.

I don't think I'd take a book from the Little Lending Library or a book that is in good shape to be bought to be read. I would tend to get books that were going to be thrown away or perhaps text books that are outdated.

Use water with the chalk pastels!

Especially love that last piece you created "just messing around for a few minutes"!

It’s all about the layers isn’t it?

For even more transparent collage pieces try medical Exam paper (cheap). Transfer , print whateve you desire, spray with water and affix with gel medium (or my beloved liquid starch). This med exam paper is almost wet strength tissue paper. Enjoy!

Using rubbings as collage material is a fantastic idea. I'm going to go out tomorrow to make as many rubbings as I can!
