Ujindou 2022 WW2 Hurtgen Forest 1944 The Big Red One Review
The boonie hat is more historically accurate for the lrrp, the helmet is if you want to go for the Apocalypse Now look
Very nice figure I don't know if I can get these in Canada 😊
Thanks! You should be able to buy some on eBay that will ship to Canada :)
Great looking figure based on apocalypse now.
Thanks for watching!
My prefered one is the parachute regiment guy.
Damn shame what happened to Xevoz. They’re awesome figures. I’m only missing a couple from wave 3. Would’ve loved to have Crypt Curse. At least I have the holy grail pack guys though.
Best on the market? These are 15 years ago…have you ever heard of “Threezero” 😂
@@ryuhayabusa8513 yep, Threezero only has like 6 GI Joe figures so far and I don’t think they look as good as these except for Snake Eyes. Just my personal opinion bro 🤷🏻♂️
@@sirmathus96totally agree. I have Threezero Joes and so far they haven’t blown my mind yet. Btw, where did you get the display case?
I'm interested in the commando Snake Eyes, but the others just don't look that interesting enough to buy. I got the display case off Amazon. It's been great, but it was a pain to assemble.
Thx for nice review!
Thanks for watching!
It's a bummer that they got the hats wrong. Other than that it would be a solid piece. Based on the initials on his shoulder boards, I'm guessing he's supposed to be a member of the Hermann Goerring Paanzer Division. Those pants should be bloused at the top of the boots.
Yo mathus I’ve been a fan for a while and I was wondering if you were ever gonna review any more Gi Joe’s, I think you have most o& the interesting ones tho
Hey man, great question. Honestly I'm not sure. There aren't any at the moment that interest me, but I'm always keeping my eye out for new figures so we'll see.
That figure is NOT an Officer bro. It's a Senior NCO. with an officer's crusher. they screwed up the shoulder boards. But I have 2 and use them for parts. Lovely nonetheless...
Unterfeldwebel ?. Equivalent to a Sergeant.
Love the camo outfit! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching man!
I just picked this figure up for 85 I'm excited to add him to my russian figures.
Great! He's a little dated, but still holds up pretty well and is quite unique.
Only 50, my dad has about 300
Congrats I guess? Lol...
thanks
Hey im selling my collection if ur interested.. contact me..😊
I love these figures. But... Being a sniper & wearing a big dark mask that stands out so much from my camouflage & environment... I'd probably try to start some sort of strike or mutiny until dress regulations were changed. I'd want a mask that didn't make my head look like a target! Comic-book fantasy lovely nonsense! I loved playing with my GI Joes...
Tom Cruise? I'd have liked a little weathering on the Thompson, and, didn't the magazine pouches look rather tiny?
Ahh, I spoke too soon!
The little pouch around the back is I think a compass case, usually worn round the front. The bigger green bag is the gas mask case, too if I remember right.
The camouflage is awful, unfortunately. I'm sat looking at my WW2 para denison smock, and there are no places where there are stark contrasts in the pattern. This looks more like modern French Army. A pity, because everything else looks fantastic. Apart from the Fairbairn-Sykes knife....
It would be nice if there were some camouflaged skin options for alternate head & hands, but I guess you could do that yourself... Oh, and no beret badge?
Yeah it's not a perfect figure by any means, but I do like it overall. Sadly, there is no beret badge!
absolutely stunning figure that is not only a cool display of maximillian style armor but also looks like a character in his own right. that shoulder cape says a lot about the person wearing it along with the cocky expression and lace collar, this is a guy very sure of himself to say the least. I do wish coomodel would make lower end versions of their armored characters, maybe sacrificing removable layers or going down in scale, they make some of the best armors I've seen for this sort of thing and I'm about to break the bank getting one of their 2022 dragon knights so a lower cost variant would be appreciated.
Thanks for your comment! Yeah the prices are insane. I would love to get their latest Gothic Knight or the Tournament Knight but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on them.
Great review! Thank you!

Had a shower thought about these toys when I was younger. My brother got me Alpha Ranger for my birthday when they first came out. Love the stickers and how much you can customize them. A couple of years later they pretty much all wave 1 and 2 ended up on Dollar Tree and I bought each if every figure they had and an extra Alpha Ranger to customize. Good times, too bad it never caught on because they were very solid toys and deserved more love.
That's awesome. My first one was also Alpha Ranger and I was instantly obsessed. You're lucky to have found them at Dollar Tree. I only ever owned three as a kid (Skull Jack, Sledge Trooper, & Alpha Ranger) and the rest I had to buy as an adult for much more on eBay. Agreed, they definitely deserved more attention!
Is Nikita worth getting. He is very unique I'm torn between him boris and Pavel. Do you have a recommendation on which if any are a must have?
I would personally go with Boris as that's a really cool one. Nikita is unique but not one of my favorites. And Pavel I've never owned...he never interested me enough to buy.
@sirmathus96 Thanks for answering so fast. I only was interested in Nikita because he is so different but I don't think he fits in my collection. Boris definitely fits better with my cutrent collection of russian. I finally displayed alexei and fyodor they both look amazing.
Congrats on being able to acquire him, Matthew. He looks great. He has a pistol, but no holster. That keeps happening with the clone figures. 🙄🙄
Thanks man! Yeah it's annoying for sure. Providing a cool pistol but not having anywhere to put it on the figure.
I just won the bid on Sergei for 75. I'm so happy to add him to my russian collection.
That's awesome man, and for a good price too. Congrats!
@sirmathus96 I'm finally starting to display my figures, and man, you deserve a medal for putting all those figures together. They are tricky getting some of the gear on. I was also wondering what you think of Aldo Holger? He is one of my favorite figures.
Lol yeah you're not wrong. I struggle the most with putting together the German figures as their belts and y-straps tend to break very easily. I've actually never owned Aldo Holger before. I've been tempted to get him tho, he looks pretty cool.
@sirmathus96 I think I might end up replacing the german belts and y straps since they are so flimsy. I just finished putting Aldo Holger together, and I highly recommend getting the figure his gear looks amazing on, and he has a metal helmet, which I am a huge fan of.
Not bad. They did a pretty good job. Oh btw "Russian" isn't an ethinicity. Russia is made up of many different people groups. Including people of Ottoman turk & Native Siberian/asian blood.
Biggest pet peeve is someone posting an action figure review and doesn't show articulation🤦♂️ definitely deserved a dislike
Do these companies still produce these styles of figures ? I used to collect them as a young lad and always wondered if I'd be able to start recollecting
Dragon stopped making these over a decade ago, but other companies like Ujindou and DiD make similar figures that are much more realistic.
Would this be your #2 for russian figures I'm trying to decide which figure to buy next for the russian figures that are currently available
Yeah I'd say he's my #2 after Alexei. Highly recommend this one!
@@sirmathus96 Alexei was my first russian figure. I'm not gonna lie i have been extremely lucky finding figures on Ebay.
Where do you get those stands? I haven't decided how I want to display my figures yet.
Also reviewing this list i need all the airborne figures! I just wish they weren't so darn expensive.
I got these off eBay. If you search for 1/6 scale stands they'll probably still be for sale.
Yes they're my favorites!
He looks great, Sir. Are you going to have to polish all that armor over time? 😮 I've got the two CooModel Pontifical Swiss Guards - yep, very expensive. Fortunately, it's just the two and they will be a one-of purchase.
Thanks! Let's hope not lol. I would love to see a review of those figures. They look pretty cool, but couldn't justify spending money on them.
@@sirmathus96 They are in the pipeline. Work has been wearing me down; it's been hard getting any vids done.
Well i Love the Maximilian fluted armour.but all weapons supplied Look odd and fantasy.first No knight wore have sword on the Back...this is nonsense.the halberd looking very fancy als ITS nothing used in combat.the Item ist more Something used by palace guards.the twohander has an incorrect hilt....more No Knights did use such ITS the weapon of landsquenet doppelsoldiers.the Mace ans sword do Not Look to good either.alas the figure ist marred by this incorrect features.for the price Not to tolerate.pitty ITS very Strange that they do reaerchbinbthe Armour which is perfekt and do Not delivering in the weaponry on it🙄
Yeah I understand the frustration. Coomodel often melds historical armor with fantasy weapons. It looks pretty cool, but it's not historically accurate.
@@sirmathus96 at this price Not to tolerante i bought the poptoys Hussite handgunner as the genoese crossbowman.with mid 300 bucks they are extremly good.historical correct the Details are wonderful.i prefere poptoys over coomodels and the black knight Gothic ist the best Gothic knight.ok ITS an female which is nonsense too but visor closed ITS OK and the slim outlines suit the time frame.the Red knight from coomodel again with Matt Damon head IS Not correct there where blued gilded armours but No Red ones.so If i buy an knoght ITS the popttoys black which goes for 260ties
This was one of my favorite figures as a kid sadly there weren’t a lot of other ww1 figures so it was hard to play with lol. I was (and still am) history nerd and loved anything ww1 and ww2.
Yeah It's unfortunate how few WW1 figures there are out there. WW2 gets way more attention.
I had the Normandy paratrooper as a kid, the one with the parachute, and it really did work. I would drop him out of the hay loft of our barn lol
That's awesome man. I always wondered if the parachute actually worked or not haha
Triple A's -astounding, amazing and awesome. And that rooster helmet! Prices can reflect the quality of the figure and items which can engender the utmost respect for those who make them. You think-how did they do that? The wow! factor. But agreed, the prices are now increasingly unaffordable for many figures. Dragon were in their heyday, affordable though obviously the detail reflected the price and the period in which they were made. It is annoying as you have said when you pay "through your nose" and things break, do not fit or fail. For that money you expect and are entitled to total quality. re the feet, I am thinking that they are "flat" to facilitate standing. This knight is superb and shines out though!!!
Thanks for your comment, Peter! I appreciate it! And yes you're right, prices on all 1/6 figures are getting higher and higher these days. It's a shame. But at least we're seeing some awesome figures being made like this one. While the price is insane, the figure itself is undeniably incredible.
@@sirmathus96 Indeed- you can't deny the work which goes into producing these is so amazing and you cannot help but revel in it- and be proud you have the figure - this one is heartstopping.
Unfortunately I'll probably never be able to afford something like this but i appreciate you showing everything up close so i can at least enjoy it through the screen. Always enjoy your reviews man.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! I totally understand. It annoys me how expensive Coomodel figures are. It's hard justifying buying them.
Great review. My WWII collection is mostly Americans, and Brits, but these recent Ujindou and Facepool releases are tempting me to add some Germans into my display.
Thanks! I like the American figures best also, but these Ujindou German figures are really impressive as well. I recommend checking them out.
Awesome review of a really spectacular figure. I've been tempted by COO's knights, but the price is just too high. A few years ago I was salivating over their Polish Winged Hussar and Horse, but I couldn't justify spending almost $700 on it.
Thanks man! Oh yeah I remember seeing the Hussar and wanting him badly, but the price scared me away too. I wish they would make some $200 figures again like they used to.
If you are diving into none World War 2 figures i suggest QOTOYS QOM-1030 1/6, he is a Napoleonic sapper, i just picked him up and he is incredible. I picked mines up from AliExpress for only 125 pounds sterling. Highly rated. Thanks for the excellent review on this.
very nice, i agree with you on the coomodel price, most people don't want to spend half a grand on a single fig. but it is very nice to look at. also keep that red cape away from.. well anything that isn't the metal on the armor. it touches it's bare head sculpt it's going to stain it, if it touches the wall it's going to stain it, if it touches another figs non red clothes it's going to stain that etc. take it from someone that's had a couple of roman centurions from various companies over the years.
Thanks jose! And thanks for the tip on the cape, I'll be careful with it.
Awesome review as always man! Really happy you keep the channel going !
I appreciate that, thanks bro!
Very strong list. I'm excited to see i have a couple of your top ten. Artur Hecht is my #1 for sure. Axel Haas would be top 3 for my favorite figures in my collection.
I got mine in the mail today! It feels so good to cross this figure off my list. Absolutely the most beautiful figure in my collection! I just want to thank you again for your videos. These videos have helped massively in my pursuit of building a collection as impressive as yours.
Wow, congrats bro!!! That is an impressive feat, especially these days. I appreciate that a lot and good luck with your collection! Is there a particular figure you're looking for next?
@@sirmathus96 I'm a big fan of the sniper figures. I'm trying to cross Eugen Brecht off next. I have crossed some of the most difficult ones off thanks to your videos.
@sirmathus96 I'm also wondering have you ever done a top ten list for dragon figures? I would love to hear what figures make your all time list.
@@GrizzlyPete90 oh yeah Eugen Brecht is one of my favorites. Definitely recommend that one. And yes, I do! I made a top 10 video a few years ago if you want to check it out. It was a lot of fun to make and also really hard because there are so many awesome Dragon figures to choose from lol
@sirmathus96 Awesome, i will definitely check it out. I just scored Paolo Arnesi tonight for a very good price. I'm trying to get all the Italian figures. I mostly collect the eastern front figures and most of the sniper figures as well. I have yet to get an American figure , but I'm very interested in the Pacific american figs since my grandfather fought in the Pacific.
Love your videos. Seen many Joes I didn’t know existed.
Thanks James! Glad to hear.
Jesus loves u accept Jesus as your lord and savior
He looks great, Sir Mathus. It seems since the War on Terror is over we're now getting more figures from times past. In the military, that type of hat is called a boonie hat. It's still worn by U.S. forces. That camo pattern is called "tiger stripe" - it was first introduced during the Vietnam War, and is still used by some countries today, including some U.S. special forces. Those kinds of boots are hard to find when kit-bashing.
Thanks! I appreciate the info as I don't know as much about the Vietnam War.
Very Nice
Thanks!
I know its sacrilegious to mention this, but if you want to make it even more accurate to the prototype cut out several bars of the radiator, the Tamiya 1/35 is ok as a reference point. Other than that, motorisation and RC???? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
That rifle is very nice, the sling is nice too, but….its not the sling that snipers were issued with. Instead of the standard sling they got an American Springfield 1903 rifle sling made of leather, reason being was it was far more adaptable for their needs. Very impressive figure too along with all the kit it comes with. The funny little green bag on the back you weren’t sure of is a gasmask case. You could use that figure for sixth scale wargaming!
