What is your scope on that gun Sir?
Theoben made some good looking guns. Thanks for sharing this one Kevin. Take care.
Oh! You will also need an adapter from eBay 👍🏻
I have a HW 90k and use a high pressure shock pump for a mountain bike. Cheap and works well 👍🏻
Can you modify the cheek piece?
The pumps are still available in the UK .
Excellent video and rifle thanks Kevin .
howdy Kevin!
I am not sure if this is the same gas ram that is installed in the HW 90, I was told that the HW 90 runs best at 25 fpe. Thanks for an informative and entertaining Sunday morning. A lovely air rifle, that's for sure.
Kevin, be careful when you recock the rifle after it has failed to fire. If the sear is not holding correctly it may fire as soon as you break the action catching you off guard. I'd take a look at that trigger and safety soon if I were you. Another very informative video by the way.
I have to say that's one beautiful gun. I remember going to the Thoeben factory in the late eighties, incredible place and wonderful people. Great video
Hi kev you can get the custom stocks of Sheffield UK, to make you one of the old stocks that they put on the early rifles they were far better, I have an evolution with the same stock and I hate it. As you say the safety does stick on these and does exactly what you're rifle is doing I just stripped it cleaned things up and it was perfect. The trigger is based on the gamo unit and straight forward to sort.
hola kevin, muy buen video y la carabina es preciosa. es muy poderosa pero con buena constancia. pronto estreno un weihrauch hw80 cal 20 . me gustan tus vídeos. Un saludo desde Granada (españa)😊
Great review, keep in going.
Many Dianas need to be looked after because they are too nervous and the optics will be out of order
Another great Video on an interesting Rifle - Keep up the good work.
I have a Weirach sp with a folding stock, but I need some type of riser to elevate the red dot..desperate to love it but can't, as is😢
Wow! that is a nice shooter
Would be interesting to see how it performs at say 40 yards? Always wanted a Countryman Carbine back in the day but sadly couldn’t afford one and ended up with my first HW80 instead. My brother in law has a lovely Imperator SLR88, which is worth really good money today! Shame Theoben went under.
I have the crow mag in .25. Shouldering the stock didn't bother me, but I was getting 850 with 19.9gr ? I bought my gun straight from Beemann, and I did have them super tune it before shipment. Maybe that is causing the velocity difference. Haven't shot it in about 20yrs, but I loved it
Theoben are absolutely beautiful well engineered rifles, I have a weihrauch hw90k that I bought new about 25 years ago because at the time I couldn't afford a theoben., still have the weihrauch absolutely love it
Weihrauch has the superior trigger mechanism to Theoben.
Lovely gun Kevin
Old Beeman was a right carpetbagger lol, as much a "Dr" as I am, claimed to have "invented" the HW80 despite every part to make it except two (the compression tube was a 25mm longer HW35 one and the cocking rod was made 25mm longer to suit) were in the weihrau h catalogue since 1955, poor old Tom Gaylord was so enamoured with this line of tosh he published a book about this Beeman acheivement, and, how he simultaneously invented CAD, a truly outrageous lie lol, I talked to him once about it (Tom) and we fell out after I sent him a 1962 PDF with nearly every HW80 part in it. Beeman also claimed to have the Lewis and Clark rifle, with no real evidence but an outrageous amount of determination. In mitigation he got a lot of Americans shooting quality European rifles by deliberately obfusticating the source countries. A salesman to the end, he sold the name to a Chinese importer and ruined the reputation for quality in the blink of an eye. Those Theobens pull some money these days. The "stuff it full of grease" concept is Maccari, or "Tune in a Tube" ideology, a Venom or Pope tuned rifle will be almost dry, but have the ability for the spring to rotate instead of stress, and be shimmed and buttoned for tiny tolerance, with just the tiniest smear of lube.
At it again, tool?
Ken Turner designed the TX200 around a rotating mainspring and piston concept which inturn originated from his stainless steel FT match rifles he had hand built from 1982.
The saying "three is a charm" certainly does not apply to this accurate rifle. And being able to adjust the power of the gas ram is not available to many brands.
Yes, beautifu, high quality airgun. Heirloom quality, i should say. The real big dog and a high water mark for the traditional style break barrel air rifle. I was fortunate to shoot a .25 caliber at the Standing Stone airgun show, here in Penna. several years ago. Was hitting a garbage can lid at 100 yards, easily. Scott
You make one of the best airgun videos out there, me being a airgun fan and owner of airguns for 60 years i can enjoy your video, also i have a broken hammers scope it won't hold up to a gamo hunter extreme magnum like advertised so guys beware.
Didn't beeman sell rebadged H&N hollowpoints they called crow magnum too? sure I bought a tin in the late 80's once. I remember them being too heavy for sub 12 ft/lbs guns so would seem they were for this rifle at a higher power.
The adapters to fill it are about $15 on ebay , then you can carefuly use a pcp stirrup pump to fill them Kevin, only takes 4 or 5 gentle strokes to fill a HW 90 theoben I repaired they will be similar (same adapter) I just sold the one I had for the job or I would've sent you it FOC.
Nice find Kevin, my poor old brain giving me some jip I had always thought Beeman had labeled the webley patriot as the crow magnum???? Did you know these theobens go really cheaply in the UK like for nothing around the $170 mark. of course the paper work to export it legally is about another $120 then the shipping on top. There are companies here that will pick up your gun do the paper work and ship it to you , last time I asked it was about £400 sterling but you never know you might get a cheaper price. Try contacting Mick Shepard he is always towing and frowing to the USA and back with guns dont know what he would charge. Big problem with Theobens, parts are a nighmare to get hold of. not that they go wrong often. The Shrader valves are aircraft grade and not impossible to get, piston seals though are maybe J Maccarri could start knocking them out of course early Eliminators used O rings at least that is what Terry Doe recons. P.S. The top grade valves were produced for NASA and fitted to the Shuttle. Made from unobtainium and fairies wings with a little rocking horse manure thrown in. So god knows how much they charge for them. Still if you know some one that works at NASA you might get one for free.
Hello , I am from the UK and with all due respect I think you are a little off on your prices for Theoben's in the UK. The cheapest Theoben I can find for sale at the moment is an Eliminator in .25 caliber which is on sale for £250.00 which is cheap probably due to the caliber and the fact that it is fac (above 12ft lbs ) after that they rise in price to £495 for an Eliminator and £650 for a Fenman with prices continuing to rise from there.
Its a real strugle to get these fac theobens out of uk. Alot of paperwork have to been done. And get it of fac lisend is only 1 company do that All the time its take no many arms dealers are happy to do this. The old eli have zephyer piston seals they are impossible to get only at impact full service. The new eli have o rings they simpley to get. Lucky im have zephyer piston seal in stock. Mine set at 65bar do 285ms with ftt 14.6 pellet
@@ianwhite5799 you really need to check out the auction prices. I must point out that I was only discussing Eliminators. As we both know non fac Theobens are now fetching really good money I sold my own SLR 88 for a grand about six years ago. Good examples of non fac theobens will continue to climb in value as they have not yet reached their peak. The problem with fac rated air guns is that nobody wants them or at least the market is extremely limited here in the UK. Unless you work various fac centre fires shotguns etc they on their own are not really worth the effort. In all fairness I have seen eliminators go for around the £250 mark but they were of particularly high quality stock wise.. Early examples are not as desirable as later models.
@@bernardvanderveen7656 Thanks for the heads up I really thought it was the other way around , age you know. And you are not wrong Zephyer or non zephyer piston seals very tricky to get hold of. I dont know about you but we have found Impact very difficult to get hold off. Definitely a hole in the market there for an enterprising seal maker.
@@bernardvanderveen7656 Also have to say not checked the availability of FAC exporters recently but there used to be several , it is often worth speaking to the auction houses and ask them who they use. I have found over the years that many of these services work by word of mouth and dont advertise.
Regarding your safety, not resetting... Might not be the safety. If your trigger adjustment outer screw is turned out enough it will not recock. There are two screws , one tiny one inside a larger one. I have been working on my Theoben Elimanator this week, so your viseo was timley! Thanks again for the videos.
I had a Theoben Eliminator in .20 cal, was a great gun but a scope and shoulder destroyer. Had to send back 2X for accuracy issues due to Samoa mount needed rebuilding
Nice airgun. I like it.😊
Was very painful for me to get rid of mine that was in .20cal. Mine definitely shot better after lowering the bar pressure of the piston.
I still trust the springers, but always appreciate your videos
I have never had a gas piston make it to the 8 year mark most fail well before 5 years. I'm still shooting the same springs on most of my late 80s early 90s Beeman's...
Im here to watch .. that cro magnum ! Looks like my Air arms the stock
Hi Pete - the stocks were made by Custom Stocks of Sheffield for both Rifle back in the earlier days of Production. They are still making stocks, but only for Private customers.
@@stevepowell3475 nice
That's quite impressive, it looks like it has the lock up and detent of the hw 95, is this a contender for the weirach?? Thanks for the video.. very informative pleasure to watch.. 😊😊
Please make a tune/repair video on these rifle🎉
If it breaks, which they're prone to do, I'll definitely video the repair. However, these Hatsans are miserable to work on, so I'm not planning on tuning it unless I have to open it up to repair it. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Thanks for demonstrating different pellets. Seems like each gun has an ammo preference. I did some testing last weekend and I was surprised by the Crosman Piranha pellets I bought, I got them cuz they were the cheapest. Turns out they're performing very well vs Stoeger (also cheap), and close to Air Arms 18gr and any Crosman 14.3gr. Great video, Thx!
Yes. Some guns are more finicky than others but most will perform better with certain pellets. Thanks for watching
Hello Sir, I recently came into possession of a FWB 124 Deluxe (F-12) new in box that belonged to my deceased uncle . He purchased it in 1977 according to the receipt. Can you give me any advice on where I can go to learn how to use and properly maintain this rifle? I would hate to damage it. I live in eastern Pennsylvania. Thank you.
Hello. Congratulations on your inheritance. You've got yourself a terrific rifle. The FWB piston seals decay over time. If you're 124 hasn't been resealed, I can almost guarantee that the piston seal is toast. There are lots of airgun tuners who could rebuild your rifle. As far as maintenance is concerned, springers are very low maintenance. A drop or two of silicone oil into the transfer port once a year or every 2000 shots is about all that's needed other than an occasional barrel cleaning. A good habit to adopt is to wipe the metal work down with a good protective oil every time you put the rifle away. It will keep rust from forming. If you're a mechanically inclined individual, you can buy the seals and perform the work yourself, but you'll need some sort of spring compressor. I made a video that covers rebuilding a 124. ua-cam.com/video/jdhFC8Cyuek/v-deo.htmlsi=mgevfe_TO83EJnxn Thanks for watching, my friend.
Love my LGU got a tx to and a blue laminate 97 on the way
Awesome. Great rifles. Enjoy! Thanks for watching, my friend.
Great video, what optic are you using, need to get one for mine
Thanks very much, my friend. That's a cheap Hammers 4-12 X 40mm. They do ok. I've had several. Probably as many as 12. I've had three failures. I'm hesitant to recommend one, but they do offer a lot for the money. Fantastic video.
Thank you very much, and thanks for watching, my friend.
I've owned the HW 97 .22 , HW 35 .22 , HW 95 had two in .22 and one in .177 , my go to rifle is the HW 99 .22 , quite agree a million times the HW range of air rifles a magical , they take some beating , cheers
Agreed. Old world craftsmanship. Companies like Weihrauch are rare and valuable. Thanks as always, my friend.
i have a hatsan torpedo it has been cocked for months, because the trigger broke off, what do i do? tried everything even super glue and baking soda to attach trigger.
It sounds to me like your rifle will need to have the trigger replaced. If you reach out to Hatsan, they should be able to perform the necessary repairs. Thanks for watching.

Hi Kevin thanks creating such a wonderful channel and sharing your knowledge I own a 631 and can’t seem to find a weaver rail that clamps properly to this rifle can you point me in the right direction on where to find one. Thanks
The dovetails on these rifles aren't standard 11mm. I believe that they're 13-14mm so standard mounts will typically work, but your scope will be offset to a degree. BSquare model 25015 should be ideal. Millet steel windage adjustable rings are also excellent. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Wow... nice gun 🤓
Thanks for watching, my friend.
I'm watching this telling my self I do not need more airguns I do not need more air guns... mean while I'm looking up the price of the BSA's.
I understand completely, my friend. It's a wonderful curse....
I just bought this gun and this video is extremely informative. Thank you so much for reviewing this rifle!
You bought yourself a.classic, my friend. Enjoy. Keep an eye out down the line. There will be a video on rebuilding the C1. Thanks for watching, my friend
