33 gallon quick video 9-6
Did a waterchange yesterday, figured I'd get a quick video of it today.
Excuse the algae on the glass, I've been too lazy to clean it lol.

Feeding the fish

A couple of light taps on the glass to let the fish know it's time for breakfast. The stiphodon gobies have learned where the best stuff is so they swim up to my hands.
Quick update: did a big trim + replant

I removed all the rotala blood red and replaced it with hra and liquids repens because it's less weedy and requires less frequent maintenance. I need to get some crypts to fill in the space under the hanging planter.

I ripped out a bunch of the rotala since it was just an algae magnet, I think the thin leaves let too much light down so the algae was able to just grow directly under it. The new plant is ludwigia palustris. It forms larger, broad leaves that should block out a lot more light and hopefully choke out any algae trying to grow underneath it. I also moved some of the cpd fry out of the riparium si...
Ok one more video because I have no self control!

Short clip of some juvenile panda loaches
I wanted to get these guys at my LFS. But, they were $20 a pop.😮
Great video
That’s a really cool tank! I like the naturally-occurring algae on the rocks.
Damn! That looks amazing!
Hello, from my experience your jewel orchid might be too damp
It's a cutting from a larger plant, I'm growing it here as an experiment.
Amazing guide, thanks
How do you get them to eat ? Mine would not even touch algae wafers
I just throw stuff in and they go for it. You could always try a different brand, pick something where most of the ingredients have actual pronounceable names.
Can I have some pandas pleaseeeee🧡 would love to talk to you
just found the channel love the tank
Awesome tank setup you've got! Love those baby panda loaches, I've got some adults in my tank and they're freaking adorable
The one guy who can keep hillstream loaches in a proper setup, and he doesn't even have em lol
Water flow is very fast
Panda loaches, stiphodon gobies, glowlight danios, Cpds, kubotai rasboras, espei rasboras and bororas maculatus.
What fish do you have in there?
Beautiful tank! Are the kubotai tend to be jumpy? And I have found difficulty with CPD in the past, most of them have sunken belly after awhile, do you have any experience with that also?
When I first keep kubotai I lost a few to jumping. Nowadays I run the water level a few inches lower and don't have problems. It sounds like your cpds have internal parasite.
Thanks for the video. Your drip irrigation system seems to work really well and your plants look like they have been there all their lives.
Nice 🧡🧡🧡💛💛💛❤️❤️
does your panda garra breed?
Yes they do! I started with 5 about 2 years ago.
i was going to ask how you get the algae to grow so densely on the rocks without it taking over the glass and sand, but if thats where it prefers to grow like you said then i guess its just a happy accident. as the owner of the tank im sure its annoying to you, but in all honesty man its a pretty nice aesthetic
I've actually never had a problem with it growing on the sand, I have enough critters churning it to keep it clean. The glass needs to be cleaned about every 2-3 weeks, doesn't grow super fast cause of all the loaches and snails keeping it pruned.
What size is your tank boss and how often/what do you feed?!?! U got it down
The title assays “33” 😂
Ur tank is literally my favorite🧡🧡 much love keep it going
Thanks! Its a 4 footer, I feed twice a day with a mix of flake and powder.
What is your water parameter? Ph, gh, tds etc? Haha, i am interested in raising panda loach
I use tap water. 7.5ph, gh and kh both 4 degrees.
@@MehHalfhearted what is your temperature? What do you feed them?
Temp fluctuates from 65 to 78 depending on the season, they eat whatever leftovers the CPD have and graze algae on the rocks.
@@MehHalfhearted appreciate it!
Congratulations!! Ok what do you think was the key to this success??? How many males vs females do you think you have?? How old do you think they are?
Well the original batch of 4-5 is 10 months old now lol. I think the biggest factor to success was just creating an environment with natural rock caves the adults could spawn where the eggs had gravel they fell down into and could hatch safely. No idea male/female ratio lol, I'm still not 100% sure how to tell them apart.
I have a group of thirteen and hoping to breed them myself
How are the fishes called please?
They are panda loaches (yaoshania pachychilus)
So many panda loaches! I'm jealous
That is a very cool setup!
What are the water parameters?
What are the water parameters?
Hi haif
I have hillstream loaches and yours look like another variety.
You probably have hillstreams either in the sewellia or gastromyzon family. These are a yaoshania species.
There's 200 different types of hillstream loaches 😂
Wow, thank you for sharing!😀😀😀 Besides the big rocks, did you do any water changes as well? What else! I LOVE the look of your natural tank!☺️☺️☺️❤️
I do a 10% waterchange about twice a week.
Absolutely beautiful man. The what was the keys with feeding for breeding? I got 6 total, 3 growing up. Seems like deep substrate is the move with lots of bigger pieces so babies can survive.
I feel like the secret is the rock piles on top of the gravel bed. When they're ready to breed the male will entice a female under one of the rocks and they'll spawn into the back, then the eggs fall down inbetween the cracks in the gravel where they hatch out and live for their first few weeks.
@@MehHalfhearted sounds perfect. Got a tank getting ready and so glad I found ur setup! Absolutely beautiful
very nice
very beautiful tank
Thank you!
Congrats bro. Incredible achievement and well done. Hopefully I’m lucky with a female I got 5 recently to add to my 2 adults. Any big tips with feeding?
Thanks! Feeding is pretty simple, I just give them the same stuff I feed all the danios and rasbora. I like to grind up the food a bit so there is a good bit of powder that coats everything in the tank.
Interested if selling
🎉 let's go baby in the house
Nice men keep up the good work 👍
Love the tank dude, nice to see how it has grown and progressed!
Have you been able to breed panda loaches?
How long you have them in this tank?
I had them in there about 3 months or so. Then I moved them to my 33 long.
Looks great!
That tanks looks amazing, I might need to do some stem plants shallow.
Thats a cool setup and congratulations with your fry
Fantastic!
