Skoda Kamiq (Monte Carlo) - REVIEW
Переглядів 30 тис.2 роки тому
Hope you enjoy this video on the Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo. Apologies for the poor sound between approx 2 mins and 6 mins of the video. I was trialling out a new place to do my car reviews and whilst it did not seem that noisy whilst filming the videos, when it came to the editing there was a lot of background noise. Unfortunately I was unable to re-record it due to only having access to the car ...

Repairing the lift glass button on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L
Rory, am I right in thinking this is a long wheel base car with an extra wide rear door? I’m asking because my ‘96 X300 needs the same treatment and I’m wondering if the headliner will fit through the door. I’ve read people taking out the windshield or rear windshield on the standard wheelbase car but am interested in your input. Very nice job, thanks for sharing.
I wish you would blow your nose and stop sniffing the whole time
I just got one for a 4x4 beater. 148k miles when I got it. Around 148700 since I got it. We changed all the fluids after draining them, went through it so it could safely pass inspection. Needed new struts. Expensive fix there .
Hello, I have a 2002 XJR and I absolutely love the detail of your video. I am going to, at some point, replace the radio with an aftermarket touch screen bluetooth capable replacement and feel that your video will be of great help. If I can ask, do you still own this car?
Thank you very much; you helped me make a good decision today. I wasn’t sure about buying this wagon, but after watching this video, I have much more information. I really appreciate it. Greetings from Bolivia.
Thank you for your kind words and glad my video helped you make a decision about buying one! I’m pleased our videos are now being seen in South America! One day we hope to visit! 😀
I have 145,000 miles on my one, you can see my full 20 year running history
It's Jan/2025 and my 2006 Grand Cherokee limited 5.7 4x4 is still running strong with 238,947 mi. Love her so much.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Well done Johnny .🎉
Really helpful and informative about the things that matter to most car buyers. Thank you, Roly - brilliant! I really don't know why so many other reviewers are so hung up on how fast you can go on a twisty road, or from 0-62 mph!
Thank you for your lovely comment 😀
Very good honest review thank you
Very good review and covered just about all the points I would expect it to. Just one demerit though, sound quality wasn't too good, but I was till able to hear most of it. Many thanks for taking the time to make this review for us all.
Thanks Roly. Very easy to listen to.
Are the alarm sensors fitted the wrong way around on install
Very hard to find these in the facelift version. They get snapped up very fast. Ended up buying a 300h premier facelift. Even those aren't easy to come by but still more of them around than the 450h
Appalling sound quality
Great video. This has inspired me to do mine after many years. I am surprised there is no sound proofing on the roof panel underneath the lining. I might add extra, just a thought. Thank you for all the effort !!🙂
Mine broke into 6 pieces trying to get this thing apart…still can’t reach the contacts
I'm looking at buying something to replace my 8 year old Suzuki Celerio. Like the Picanto, it has a robotised manual gearbox. With mine, you can drive it in full auto-mode (this is how wifey drives) or in a semi-automatic mode where you can tap the gear lever up or down to select the gear you want. Is this how the Kia box works too? Before I bought the Suzuki, I owned a manual 1.0L manual Picanto but the previous model. I never really took to the car & was frankly glad to see the back of it. My gripes were the lack of space (fixed with newer models) & its fuel economy. I drive like the Pope's mother & try as I might, I couldn't get it to average more than 56 mpg. This was worse than the Daihatsu Sirion it replaced (62 mpg) & the Celerio (70 mpg). If you drive your Picanto really, really sensibly, what kind of mileage can you achieve or is 57 - 58 mpg the absolute best it will do? Thanks
Lovely 😊
What type of paste is this?
Useful video. When you say use soapy water first to clean the seats is this hand soap and water?
Well done and very helpful...may try that on typical worn drivers side seat area. 👍
Hard watch, noise from your mike is so annoying
Hi What should i do if when pressing the button there is a sound like trying to open but the liftgate does not opens?
Great video, super informative and easy to watch. I wouldn't worry about the sound as the disturbance was minimal. Thsnk you. Ps Got the car 😊 Theu should start giving you commission 😁
Hi, have you ever replaced the coolant housing on these? I cannot find a video anywhere!
I’m currently looking at this car but have read reports about it not being a good automatic car? I currently have a 2010 Auto that I’ve not had any issues with. Is this an OK car as an automatic? Thanks.
I think the negativity is because it is basically an "assisted manual". There is a manual gearbox but there are parts doing the gear changing for you, hence no parking slot on the selector. I'm looking at a new one at the minute and trying to see videos of it in action
just what i needed thank you
Very helpful. Thanks for making this video.
Why no more vids?
I would like to thank jaguar for making this diesel version,. Not in the bluest hell i wouldve afford to get the other models,. I am planning to get one and put a throttle controller and surely will unleash it,.
Not a torque converter auto then?? Sounds like it could be future trouble with those converted manual boxes with clutch and servos!!!
Wifey bought her Toyota Aygo with a robotised manual gearbox in 2005 & it performed flawlessly for 11 years. She replaced the Aygo with a Suzuki Celerio, also with a robotised manual, in 2016 which has been brilliantly reliable. I liked the car so much I bought one for myself! Wifey drives her's uniquely in auto-mode. I tend to use mine mainly in manual-mode but if I'm stuck in slowly moving traffic, I'll flick it into auto to make things easier. Both cars happily return 70 mpg & have done consistently for the last 8 years...and of course that's the big advantage over a conventional torque converter auto.
What grade sandpaper are you using? 400 grit? 600 grit? The proper grit is important here so i would like to know. Thanks.
Someone’s selling a 2006 with 45k miles. V8 hemi. 6 thousand dollars. Hope it’s still there

Thank you sir. Had to put a 1998 XJR radio console back together and your video was a great help.
You done a great job there, well done, ... I know now where to being mine if it needs doing lol .... Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers I’m looking to buy one of these, can you do an Infiniti M or Subaru Legacy please Roly
I had a 2.2d for years and looking for another one. Really lovely cars
Thank you every other says take bumper off all done thanks so much
well done, that looked like an awkward job indeed, I wanted to lend you my cordless screwdriver.
Thanks Roly, very helpful!
wow well done
Thanks for the excellent demonstration, but I would have considered spraying carpet glue Through pin holes to see if this approach works first. But thanks again, for such a pro job
You have the patience of a saint!
Thank you very much for this video. I was pushing on the inner seal and not making progress and decided that I must not be the first person to have to push a seal back into its proper place. Found your video and it was easy once I knew what to do. Again, Thank you!
Just watched this again after watching many videos in trying to decide what car to go for. Your review really helped me make the choice as it was very in-depth but also understandable to a novice about cars. We had a Kodiaq and while it was an amazing car it got to the point where I just didn't need the size. Now have a Kamiq Monte Carlo and it really is a pleasure to drive (and look at :) ) - Thanks.
Thank you so much. This video is very very helpful, I am prepared for the job. To save some money I just bought 4 doors with good looking door rubbers to put over in my X308. Those original rubbers will fit.
