Sometimes marginal shots are inevitable while archery hunting. This one was a good learning experience for Tom and I to use moving forward. With some amazing team work we were able to end this one with a positive outcome.

Nice Video. I love my H2 Saddle. Glad to see you didn't edit out the fact that you forgot your retrieval line. Only suggestion that I have is to climb with your rappel rope. That way you always will have a direct route to the ground should something go wrong when your climbing.
Hey Brother, just a thought. The whole point of one sticking is obviously weight reduction , and safety. - You are ascending the tree with a 9 foot tree tether. Lets say you get up to 15 feet and want to get to 20 feet. You make your next move by getting your stick and then you accidently drop it. There are 3 things that will happen. Option 1. you will be stuck in the tree with no way down because you have no belay device or the rope length to do so. You call an emergency service, and they extract you from the tree - Option 2 . You accidently drop your stick, and your phone is dead. But thank goodness you have a knife. You cut your bridge, and you bear hug the tree all the way down to the ground . Or you try to bear hug the tree and accidently fall and break a leg. You crawl out of the woods and make it home alive. Again, no belay device of sufficient amount of rope. Option 3. You drop your stick on accident, your phone is dead, and you have no knife. You are a dead man hanging without suffecient amount of rope or belay device. - Im sure you done it this way 1000 times, but all it takes is one time you dropping that stick with your set up and you run the risk of dying. - Just say fuck it and get the 40 feet of 3/8 rope with a Mad Rock Safeguard or a Petzl Gri Gri.
This helped me a lot. Good job!
Awesome thanks looking to start saddle hunting thanks in advance 🙏🏽
I recognize that spot ;)
Great buck! Would love to see a pic of the bigger one😉 I like it! Already planning this next season hunts. Looking forward to some new stand sites, that I kinda preselected this past turkey season.
That’s a great video and is real as it gets, I know it’s been a couple years but congratulations keep up the good work!
Damn, if they could clone you id take two😅 I love watching your vids. Great job.
Yes sir 👊
Heck yeah. congrats!
If that doesn’t make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, nothing will
Even if you are bald!!😂
Love watching Florida public land hunting! Its different down here. Thanks for making the video & posting as it make everything harder.👍
👍🏼 great job. Can’t wait for season to open up this year
I am looking forward to this season, luckily pulled tags for Hell N Blazes!!! Did y’all pull tags this year?
No tags for us this year unfortunately.
Public land legal deer. Always good
I’m new to one stick / rappelling as well. Did it last season here in South Florida. A couple of things I’d be concerned about. 1. If you accidentally drop your rappel rope when you are transitioning to it, you’re stuck. Getting down will be a pain in the neck. 2. If you are climbing with your short tether and the cam cleat comes undone and you lose the stick, you’re stuck. You can put your rappel line on but you’ll probably have to untie the knot in your tether to slide off it or cut it. Then transition to the rappel line. I climb with my rappel line so I always have an escape to ground if I lose my stick or if something goes wrong. I used a quick link last year but am trying the JRB Cinch method this coming season. Along with an auto block and a mammut smart 2.0. Something to think about. Happy hunting.
Its funny how even though he is dead yall still tape his mouth shut. I don’t blame you. If he some how came back from the dead at least his mouth would be bound
Nice! I subscribed!
Do you have a video of how to install the cam cleat onto the climbing stick?
Not currently but I plan on making one in the near future 👍
I’d like to see a deer hunt scouting video. It would be helpful to show a couple of new hunters I’m mentoring. Thanks again!
We will probably do some once the season gets alittle closer 👍 thanks for the input!
Thanks for a very informative video. I’m still considering a saddle. Also most videos don’t show folks going over a few feet from the ground. You going to hunting height and descending is awesome!
Thanks!
While i understand trying to stay as budget minded as possible safety should still be the top priority. That ropeman is a rope capture device not meant for fall arrest. With all that slack you leave in your tether if your stick were to fall out there is a good chance that ropeman will fail. You can pick up a madrock or vergo for $100 or less and its suited for the application you are using it for. It also offers the advantage of climbing with your rappel rope so if something were to happen you wouldnt have to do anything to self rescue.
Thanks for the info. I’ve experimented with climbing with the rappel rope and wasn’t a fan of it. I’ll keep experimenting with ways to reduce slack in my tether. Thanks for watching.
@@thomascindy8915 thank you for the videos👍
After taking your feed back into consideration and doing a little research, I have now decided to back up my rope man with a 6mm prusik above it. I tried it out and it’s going to work great. Thinks again for the input! Safety is definitely number 1 👍
@thomascindy8915 Fantastic! Coming home safe after the hunt is the most important thing!
Ive been using three sticks with aiders and it's definitely harder than just using a climber. I'll have to try this because I do like the comfort and versatility of being in a saddle
For sure! The biggest advantage to me was the versatility and hunting from whatever height I needed to be at. Using multiple sticks, you are more limited.
Great video, and nice house too
Thanks Kenny!
Stud!!! 🙌🏻
Gotta love it when a plan comes together. Ms. Consistent strikes again. I do enjoy you guys hunting the public lands. I believe we hunt some of the same woods, but I’ll never inquire on line👍😉
Thanks for watching! Hope to meet you in the woods one day if so!
This is awesome! Congrats on your buck!
Thank you!
Congrats! One of the best blood trails i have seen with a muzzy!
That’s a good one!.. congrats!👍👎
Thank you!
Awsome hunt dude 💪🏻💥
Thanks 👍
I'll never saddle hunt lol
It’s not for everyone lol. We still use our climbers in certain situations as well!
First few times i was getting aggrivated w all the rope an found one sticking hard, but my buddies kept encouraging me to give it some time and now i love it..havnt pulled out my summit once. I walk alot on public and it makes my load so light that its perfect..and its comfortable
Hell ya man where at in Florida? I’d freak out if I saw one that big in palm beach county lol
Central Florida
Nice!
👍👍
Nice job man beautiful buck
Thanks 👍
😢
I know it's sad to take the life of a beautiful animal but if someone is going to eat meat I'd rather it be sourced like this rather born in captivity and raised in miserable conditions like how most animals are that supply our stores. At least that deer got to live a life in its natural habitat and was put down as humanely as possible. I live in a hunting area and alot of people I know hunt, I personally don't but if we didn't have hunters to keep the population under control there would be a crap load of car wrecks and road kill. Even with the hunters helping sometimes the deer population gets too high and the roadside is just full of deer carcasses, sometimes is so bad I'll see several deer alongside the road rotting away within a couple miles.
Thanks for watching.
We eat venison several times a week. Organic meat is the best!
@@thomascindy8915 that's awesome. I'm not a fan of store bought meat after learning the conditions they live in and I've been told them inject them with hormones and stuff. When I was a kid we use to raise our own cows and pigs and had our own little farm. I really want to do that if I can ever get a home in a rural area again.
how can i become a hunter in Florida?
Visit Myfwc.com for all of the information, rules and regulations you need to get started. If you’ve never hunted in Florida before, I’d recommend finding a mentor to show you the ropes 👍
@@thomascindy8915 Thanks
It's not really a good kill. I'm just saying.
Yes, it wasn’t ideal. Ultimately, sometimes things happen, especially in bow hunting. All you can do is put as much effort forth as possible to see it through to the end and hope for a positive result.
I like it! Some are easier to find than others. I’ve been there. Thanks for a great video!
Meat still good ?
Absolutely.
Heck yeah! Nice Fl buck and awesome story. Thanks for sharing
That was pretty hardcore!!! Glad yall was able to retrieve the deer, nice buck!!!! I hope yall bought that dude in the water a steak dinner, he definitely deserves it!!!!
Haven’t had to deal with a sunken buck yet!… congrats!👍💪
Thanks, it was quite the experience!
Congratulations.Well done!😀 Happy New Year!
Thank you! You too!
Congratulations on your buck, but FYI, Tn requires orange on your head also.
Wow, you are absolutely right. I was thinking it was only public land there. Thank you!!
I been checking daily for a deer hunt😉 My Florida season has been fun but unproductive. Glad you kicked it in gear in Tennessee. Happy New Year and safe travels!
Lol Thank you! It’s been an abnormally slow season for us as well!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congrats!
Thank you 😊
Been waiting on a deer video from y’all!… congrats Cindy!👍
