I would like to know the link of where I can buy that repair set pls
Hi when I've opened up the unit the wire wasn't connected inside the unit like in this video. Is ot easy enough too reconnect it can't find any videos on how too do this?
Great video! How often does one need to do this type of maintenance? I mean it probably depends on the minerals in the water, but I am curious what folks are experiencing. We are considering this type of shower faucet for our remodel, but one manufacturer says to soak it in vinegar for 24 hours (meanwhile our house water is shut off for that whole time!) Thanks.
Ive got a very simalar job to do… door cam is on the rear side to the consumer unit….its a matter of drilling through at a slight angle to hit the exact area the cam needs to be …trouble is Ive got all the feeds to unit coming from ceiling and i also have sockets and other electrical and BT outlets and data sockets below so i dont no where the cables are going up as the width of the sockets ect below are as wide as CU …
Would I need to turn off the water to just do the temperature control
yes
Would I need to turn off the water to just do the temperature control
Hi 👋 Don’t suppose you know this reason. Can’t find it online, My bath tub twist plug vibrates and makes a noise like there’s water going through possibly. Do I need a plumber or is it something I can fix. Really appreciate any advice 🙏
Any idea how to get the plug out when it’s stuck in and the bath is full of water? Love this video for the rest of it!
Hi, please help! how to take out the pop up drain stopper? I have the same type you're servicing on this video but the stopper cannot be taken off to clean it or pour the cleaning gel/powder.
Good video but why the California girl up speak? turning everything into a question.
How long did you leave the valve soaking beore you put it back in ?
THANK YOU !!!! Saved us a lot of money, absolutely great video! 🎉
The silicon work is immaculate probably done with elbows
I’m amazed was wondering what the large turning thing was for on the bath and couldn’t figure out how to use bath in new build! Thankyou so much can’t enjoy me evening now😂
Rather tedious listening to the number of times he said 'actually'. Actually annoying.
Wonderful tips, great job DIM TIPS!!!
Thanks my straightners have gone this way so totally not worth using right now. Will certainly try this
Yeah. Will work
Good to see you back, Great tip using vinegar! My best tip is Always put the plug in any sink that you are working close to, I learnt my lesson many years ago 🥃 👍 😁
As always thank you. Yes posting when I can
This helped me today! As others have commented this is the one that does talk aboutvtje actual task. It is a bit tricky to reach this video though. The good thing about this is that shows the mistakes too which are pretty common when person enters the world of DIY.
Thank you glad it helped.
This actually worked!!! In a world of UA-cam rubbish, this video actually helped a complete novice fix their shower mixer. Thank you 😊
Next time show in the hole as that’s why I watched the video but u didn’t show so the video was pointless for me 😞
Sorry about that. One for me to think about next time
I just poored vinegar over the temperature valve and this loosened it enough so I could rotate it by hand
Great idea
I’ve just found out that when I turn the thermostat to the coldest position, my shower gives also warm water. Does it mean that it’s broken or should I calibrate the knop? We installed the bar just as it was from the factory. Thank you
Calibration may help
Great video. Did you have to close the water source to remove the mixer or it's not needed per se ?
I turned it off for the whole house. Didn't have an isolation behind shower. Not many do.
Did you not hear him say, “Don’t forget to turn the water off?”
not a DIY job , you need to state that more clearly! also checking everything dead with a proper tester on video would be better to show
Fair point
Thankyou. Just fixed ours. Saved time and money
Awesome. Glad it helped
I've got a leak from the neck unscrewed in the beginning any idea on this please? It's fully tightened and leaks when shower isnl turned on
Could be a number of places, any specific area. Anyone else any thoughts?
Thanks for showing mate. This helped a lot. We have a very similar one which I managed to get to work again after months of barely being able to turn the temperature up or down.
So I followed up until I had to unscrew everything. Now can figure out how to get that black thing out :(
Oh no. Hope you did figure it out
I have a very similar unit in my bathroom and I have an extra question. You mentioned in the beginning of the video that the water pressure knob was loose - mine is acting a bit similar + it doesn't always completely shut off the water and I have to use a bit more force to turn it all the way into the closed position than I actually feel comfortable to do (I'm afraid that I'll break it off). Does it generally require just a clean from the limescale build-up, or is there some kind of a gasket inside that may require a replacement too? What's your opinion on this?
The washers/glands are cheap. So you could even replace the cartridge. Ebay has some good suppliers who you can call to confirm the exact cartridge
My twister doesn't have any holes or screws in it. Any ideas on how I can remove it? The bath drain is stuck and not opening
I think someone answered this in the comments before.
How am I supposed to get the wiring from the chime, to the fuse box. I don't want to tear up a bunch of plasterboard... My chime is wired, but think it's running off an existing ring, such as the ground floor plugs or lights maybe.
Yeah. Not an easy job. Electrician perfer for it not to be in the unit
Are you an electrician? That DB is horrible.
I am not a qualified electrician. See your point. Pure diy job
Do put the tape on top of the washer?
Try not to. Want the washer to connect with inlet. Tap only on nut
It's rusted out because it's probably been been cemented in all the way down. They normally advise to use 50% of the depth using gravel 30mm size and the remaining depth using postcrete. This way the water can drain away and the bollard will not retain the water. I've had mine installed for 2 years and still looks good as day 1.
Yeah. You are right.
wonderful. The cheap wickes version isnt adjustable but "looks" the same
Yes true
Watched this video several times and gave it a go as my plug had got stuck in the locked position with a bath full of water in it !! After a few failed attempts and a break to have a coffee I followed the video step by step pausing it along the way to do exactly what he did and IT WORKED ! Thank you so much for posting such a helpful video now I dont have the expense of calling out a plumber and my bath is fixed 👍
Awesome.
My temperature isn't working at all so after seeing this I'm off to get drenched 😅
Oh no. Hope it is sorted
Thank you for grate video. Do you know if the cable can be replaced?
Might be able to get from ebay
Would just like to say thank you ..simple solution. I have now stopped screaming.
Awesome
Thanks - 2 questions 1. Are faucet washers standard size? 2. My unit is moving against the wall slightly- did I over tighten ?
They should be.
At 3:12 what is the white clamp / nut? Thanks...
Hope you managed to find
What is it?! @@DIMTips
Hi mate, at 4:40 under the bath what are the white clamps before the locking nuts? I need them!
Worth a check on ebay. You will be surprised with the name. But if you found them great to share with all
Why are your mcbs and rcds still switch on they should be off before switching the main switch off? Very messy cables no cover on the bus bar?
Thank you and noted
dziękuję za pomoc
Thanks i think
Hi. Mine no longer works, I tried adjusting the plug, but that didn’t seem to work, as I'm going to change the bath later this year I don’t want to chsnge the whole unit so today i got a rubber 'stand alone' plug that i put in via my hand for now but that doesn't fit. I took the old plug to the plumbers who told me it's large & there is no such thing as a 'standard size' plug hole, shall i just keep trying until I find the right fit? Thanks 🇬🇧
Hope you managed to find
Thanks for the demonstration - for the sake of a £3 pack of rubber washers, you saved me calling out a plumber.
Awesome
You need to ensure that the Low Voltage side of the transformer is totally isolated from the 230V supply and you cannot do that in a Consumer Unit best to use a separate DIN rail enclosure for the transformer maybe next time as this will fail an EICR immediately
Thank you. Will state next time
@@DIMTips No problem
Absolutely brilliant video and advice, mine went faulty on late Saturday 2 days before Christmas and was nowhere to buy a replacement one but thanks for this video as it worked a treat and is now working as it should 👍🏽
I'm glad it helped. have you managed to fix anything else?
Brilliant!
Thank you
