Hi Nads, I hope you’re having a good Thursday! 😊 It’s really inspiring and admirable to see your journey, and I’m sure you’ve gone through so many phases to get to where you are today. As for me, I have a strong tendency to get distracted and struggle with keeping the same routine, which caused a lot of issues at my previous office job. 😅 A few years ago, I was working on it to help me reconnect with my past self, as I often felt a separation from who I am now. (Now I feel much better about it! ) I’m working on not being too hard on myself and am still on the journey of accepting my nature. 🌱 Recently, I started doing a morning journal. 📖 I’m not sure if it’s helping yet, but it’s been fun to write in my own language. I saw that you enjoyed a picnic the other day-it looked like your heart is at peace and you’re spending quality time. 🌞🌻 Thank you so much, as always! @@ogawachikako oh yeah, many phases 😁 i hardly recognise myself from 10 years ago! but same goes for you probably? at least the many phases part of it💚 ohh yeahh, the need for novelty?? i can relate so much! always such a struggle inside me, as part of me craves routine and the other wants everything new all the time!!!! hahahah 😆 i think being alive is pretty funny, it's all so complex and i am just along for the ride. i am glad we both went towards art in life. i think it brings novelty and so much more excitement and enjoyment to living💞 I think we usually have things we want to change, or aim for, don't we? 😊 forever growing as a person. i think it's beautiful you are trying to embrace your nature more🥹 morning journal is a great idea! you could try an evening one if you find it not a good fit, too. either way getting your thoughts on paper in your own language is so GOOD! Hi Alex! I’m happy to hear you were safe from the hurricane the other day! I also received a warning last week and stayed in the basement, which was a completely new experience for me, haha. Earthquake warnings were more common when I lived in Japan, though. Anyway, thank you for the tip about using an old mouse pad! Since I had to limit what I brought to my new place, I’m not sure if I can find a similar one, but now I know what works! Wow, you noticed my husband’s help! He’ll be thrilled! I’m still exploring what style works for me on this UA-cam journey, but for this video’s style, I definitely needed more footage and an extra person to help get all the angles, just like you mentioned. hey I didn’t know you play games! My current obsession is Celeste. I died over 3,000 times (the game keeps track!) but finally cleared it, haha. Hope you’re having a lovely Thursday🎵

@@ogawachikako Ah yes! Hurricane dodged us this time round. We got some nice rain and a bit of strong wind but that's about it. I hope those in the direct path who aren't as lucky will have everything returned to normal soon. We don't have basements here in Louisiana...if we do, it'll be underwater :D Yes. I've been telling people to use their old mousepads to open jars since maybe 20 years ago. We have many old mousepads we got for free in the house, they are super helpful. And of course I notice the help you get to make these videos...because I help here and there with my wife's videos too, but usually she does everything herself. I do think another wide-angle camera, or two would help. The pain is usually the editing portion, which I am sure took a lot of time to get everything right before posting, I am way too lazy to edit, that's why I am so inactive on my channel. And yes, I play a lot of shooting games.. I spent thousands of hours on Destiny -_- but I quit that because when I was spending time playing Destiny, I am neglecting my sketchbooks. Now I am just playing Call of Duty, but even that I'll stop doing for the same reason. But there's one game that I will not quit is Monster Hunter :D I played a lot of World and Iceborne, Rise and Sunbreak both on Switch and PS5.... can't wait for Wilds to come out next year. Anyway, I am getting too old for fast-paced games, I probably should start thinking about playing cozy games :p I am not familiar with Celeste, but dying 3000 times sounds excessive. As long as you're having fun I guess hahaha. Thanks and you have a great Thursday as well!

hi, I hope you are having good thursday start! hehehe I recently started shorts video for trial haha. It's also refreshing that the short video like less than 1 min doen't take a lot of time for editing and practicing a script, and adding random music is refreshing too✨ That means a lot that you feel hopes from my videos. haha donut decorations.... hey it is actually nice idea for a video. To focus on a part that you can eat, eating part should be more atractive than negative space....! I have never made a donut at home, but oh.... maybe I can try with clay! oh you can't eat then lol (..ok I stop here lol)😆

Wow, I truly believe you're ready, but I completely understand how you feel. My first children's book was quite rough and still isn’t perfect. However, I realized that I’m not some special or genius person who can achieve success (and for me, success means delivering a strong message through good content) with my first publication. Putting yourself out there is scary, especially when people rate your work, but I really admire those who still do it💪 I didn’t know about the UA-cam courses! That’s exciting and hopeful! My environment is improving more and more, and I’ve finally reached a point where I can start a new project. I’m really enjoying my new home having essential furniture, and I even feel a bit lazy to go outside. But since it’s not downtown anymore, there are fewer distractions outside, which is nice for focusing on inner activities. See you soon!

@@ogawachikako Yes the week's fine except that there's a hurricane heading our way >.< ah well, I think we'll be fine. We've done all the necessary preparation, and enough food and water for weeks, plus a solar generator. I really appreciate you having confidence that I will be a good instructor. A lot of times when I am passing down knowledge, I don't feel like I am actually teaching, but more like rehearsing, and maybe learning something else along the way when people ask me questions. I think you're already an awesome instructor, so instead of calling just yourself a student, we can all be students of the subject ;) Yeah... I have been drawing people hahaha, but I switch around a lot. Sometimes I feel like cute animals, sometimes I feel like drawing faces...I rarely draw just objects around me these days, so maybe I'll do that in the next few pages. Glad to hear that your house is coming together nicely. And having a quieter environment really does help with mental health and inner calmness. Can't wait to see your next project.

@@ogawachikako haha yeah? honestly looking back, i am too. i have been creative since the day i was born basically 🤣 i was always drawing and crafting as a kid! but there was a lot of trauma in my life, i didnt have the space for anything creative in me. there were some little things i did here and there, but nothing of note. yeah the inside voices needed time to heal i feel. it's kind of funny how sharing my art now doesn't make me feel anything negative or anxious even, it's pretty amazing 😭 thanks for connecting with me 😊 yes I can't see myself EVER stopping art now!!! it's like a new lease on life, everything is more positive for me now 😁 yes always fight 💪💪💪together!

I think frogs are cute too, and because of Ken-San, I probably will add a few more frog sketches on my sketchbook before I conclude it for the year. You are right, I am not sure why I was thinking about art that deeply when I was in my teens. I was also part of many clubs, and also the president of a language club. But still, nothing took me away from deep thoughts about art. I think the interview was a great success, and you absolutely should do more. It had a great nice balance and a very cozy vibe, makes people feel safe :) Next week we'll be on the road and be away from home on a vacation, don't worry I won't forget to watch your video. Hey Brian! I'm glad I could bring a new perspective to you! I'm curious to see your Chibi style, haha. I can't imagine it based on the work I've seen from you 😄. As a children's book illustrator, I've needed to stick to the same style to provide consistent service. (You know that as you experienced to work for company.) But recently, I've been thinking that maybe I can be more like a frog that can adapt to any environment and any offer🐸 So yeah, experimenting with different styles is definitely my playground!

Hey Alex! Yes, I finally got my new tripod and furniture! It's such a game-changer☺️ I see you’ve been spending more time on portraits recently, which is super cool! People like to categorize things to understand them, but I don't think artists need to fit into a category. Your style is your style. I use references from chibi, shonen, or whatever, but I don’t want to put my own artwork into a category because it feels like I’m limiting myself🎨 So yeah, let's keep going on our journey with more and more paper and pen! ^^ By the way, since you mentioned starting photography again, I'm planning to invite my photographer friend over to give me some insights into that world. I'm so excited to share what I learn with you. It might happen next month, but I can't wait to bring more inspiration to your new journey📷! Hihihi

@@ogawachikako ooooooh tripod sounds very serious now :) for some strange reason I actually enjoy putting furniture together…like IKEA furniture. Maybe because it feels like I was playing with Lego again. I agree that we shouldn’t be too honed in on the definition of our styles. Our style is what makes us happy when we create the piece :) I’ll just draw what I like, and let people decide what that is, because truly, it doesn’t really matter. Yes photography. I’ve been looking at some mirrorless DSLR for beginners and made some shopping list. I used to think that I want to have as much zoom as possible. But now, I like how I observe things around me, especially the sky, not just a single frame of cloud formation, but the whole sky. So chances are I’ll get some ultra-wide angle lenses just for that. Plus those are really good for vlogging and video making too because you wouldn’t need to place your camera too far away or invest in remote microphones. I don’t have all these equipment yet but I know what I’d like to have, so I’ll wait for a good time to get them….like around Black Friday or Cyber Monday :) And yes please do ask your photographer friend a lot of questions. I definitely wouldn’t mind more knowledge in the field. Have a great Sunday Chi-Chan!

I’m just someone who takes photos with my smartphone, but I think collecting references outdoors with a camera would be a fun activity for illustration too! @@ogawachikako No no :) I don't have much experience at all and we're the same in the sense of taking photos with our smartphones. I take a lot of photos of the sky to use as reference too. But I think nowadays the cameras are so powerful that they will be able to send the taken pictures to your phone too. Anyway, moving is always a lot of work. Have fun while you're at it. :) And yes me and Evie just watched Slam Dunk on Netflix. I forgot how much I like the series. I used to read the manga when I was in middle school, and I started playing basketball because of that too.

Yeeeees! It was so comfortable to record with the new tripod and furniture this time😭 Thank you for checking it out together with me, I can't quite imagine reaching 2K yet, but I’m happy more people are interested in the art I’m sharing🤯 The idea for this layout came from Twitch, where they provide game streaming. I made a few videos to teach Japanese through video games, so I thought I could use the same layout to show my process. I’m so happy to know that it’s working well. Huh? Dora? I’ve never seen that before, maybe it’s not in Japan or just not my generation? I learned English from Charlie and Chocolate factory🍫

@@ogawachikako btw by earlier I meant earlier in the video itself - rather than the channel I found the layout quite easy and comfortable to watch - but it's not the only one which has been good ✨
