Come with me as I venture into my attic to find cool and interesting things to show you! Board games, toys, video games, collectables, comics, what will I bring down from the attic this time?
DFTA 100th Episode Special! The Omega Virus
Hey gang, well, it's finally here, the 100th EPISODE of Down From The Attic. It's actually mental for me to think there's close to 25 hours of down from the attic out there! Thank you everyone who's supported the channel and followed me during this journey, it's been a transformative 7 years. From doing the channel, I now edit, film, animate and lately 3D animate for a living. Down From The Attic always allowed me to try out and test new ideas and put into practice new skills I was learning along the way, and with your support, it's helped me with finding my career. So again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who watches, it does mean a lot to know that my videos are so well received and enjoyed.
Well...I suppose onto the review! This is a game I've been holding off on reviewing for some time because it deserved an episode where I pulled out all the stops, green screen, effects, animation. It's the 1992 Electronic game THE OMEGA VIRUS! A talking time sensitive game where you're battling to save the earth from a vicious virus intent on blowing it up! One of Milton Bradley's finest games in my humble opinion, it has it all, gorgeous presentation, fun game play, quality components, tension, co operative play or competitive... it's a marvel. I hope you enjoy!
I'll be back soon with episode 101 where I'll be going from a great game to one that's...truly abysmal. Got to address the balance right?
Thanks again for getting me to 100 episodes,
Luke

Переглядів 9234 місяці тому
Hi gang, Luke here, I'm back with an update as to what's been happening the last few months, a bit of an update with the channel and new episode and reviews and a look over what games I snagged at UK Games Expo at the start of this month! Rest assured, I'm working on episode 100, I've got the episode filmed, there's some effects (yep, you read right!) that need work on and some green screen to ...

Hey gang, rounding off another ball bearing week with one of my favourites, Bagatelle, a game that has a deeper and more interesting history and story to it than you first think! Thanks again for you following me all week showing some more of my ball bearing games, I've more for another week some time down the line :) keep on gaming, Luke
DFTA BBW Perplexus
Переглядів 1,2 тис.11 місяців тому
Some of you predicted in earlier videos this week that I may be looking at one of these and I've decided to go where it all began, the first Perplexus ball bearing game. This one isn't for the faint of heart....or patience :D This is a tough little game and made more infuriating by it's horrendous sounding music. Hope you enjoy the video! best regards, Luke
DFTA BBW Mountain Tour
Переглядів 77811 місяців тому
Hey gang, day 4 of ball bearing week and looking a simple little game with a unique approach to controlling the ball around the course, Mountain Tour. Now this game goes by a bunch of different names but the idea of using string to control the ball is too weird not to share! Know this is a shorter episode, I've some longer episode for the remainder of ball bearing week happy gaming, Luke
Baffleball- Ball Bearing Week 2
Переглядів 70911 місяців тому
Hey gang, day 3 and I'm looking at an old game but a fun one, Baffleball! This is a remarkably simple concept but one that's very very tricky to master! And this particular game is my Mum's, she grew up playing this and is the grand master still at it! Enjoy the video, Luke
Screwball Scramble 2- Ball Bearing Week 2
Переглядів 4,3 тис.11 місяців тому
Hey gang, here we are on day 2's Ball Bearing Week episode and one that's more recent, Screwall Scramble level 2, which I completely compatible with the original game from over 40 years ago! This game, much like its predecessor is a real challenge! Before anyone comments, I am aware of level 3 coming out/ being out and I've been forbidden from getting it before Christmas...so it seems I may be ...
Wooden Labyrinth- Ball Bearing Week 2!
Переглядів 1 тис.11 місяців тому
Well the response from the poll was overwhelming, thank you to everyone who voted. And here it is! Ball Bearing Week 2, Electric Boogaloo! Or...something like that :D Still dealing with technical issues this side of things but hopefully should have a far more robust and solid solution going forwards, and thank you for not making me remake the 7th BBW episode... aside from it being a chore to re...

First of all, to those kind viewers who let me know about the audio issues with the previous upload, you're the best, thank you for the heads up! Re-uploaded and audio issues are all sorted, a dumb mistake I made during export was causing the issue, all fixed now! So....with that out the way... Hey Gang, hoping that you're all doing well! I'm back with my latest review and one that's genuinely ...
DFTA 92 Dark Tower 1981
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Рік тому
Hey gang, I'm back with a look at a truly astonishing game, Dark Tower from Milton Bradley. When this game hit the scene in 1981 there really was nothing like it, and 40 later... it's still a marvel of ingenuity, though a game with a very scandalous and sordid past... I hope you enjoy the review. It's been a long time coming this review and for a number of reasons. First, Dark Tower...how to pu...

Hi gang, I'm back with another classic game review, and this episode it's a big one! IT from the pit from Milton Bradley, released in 1992. This 3D, motorised mechanical mad cap monster of a game is sure to grab you... literally! If you enjoy the video, let me know your thoughts. As I mention in the review, I had to repair this game as it wasn't working on arrival. If there's interest in me doi...

Переглядів 4,7 тис.Рік тому
Hey gang, hope all of you are doing well as we move into these colder months! I'm back and looking at a really brilliant game, Mystery Mansion by Milton Bradley, from 1984! In this game you'll need to explore the mansions winding rooms, search for clues, keys and treasure! But only one of the seven chests contains the real treasure...which will it be? Hope you enjoy the episode, keep gaming Luke
Mysteries Of Old Peking (1988 MB Games) DFTA 88

Hey gang, this episode we're looking at a vintage game, Mysteries of Old Peking. You act as a sleuth and investigate clue, decipher codes to find out the culprit and figure where he's hiding! This is an immensely fun game, but not without its issues! There's more reviews on the way, including another week long round of reviews too! So keep your peepers peeled! Thanks again for watching and supp...

Hey gang, I realise it's been a while and I apologise for the radio silence. I have been busy behind the scenes, and the channel update at the end of the review will bring you up to speed with what's been happening. Suffice to say, I've reviews on the way it's just taking a little longer than usual these days. But this episode, time to curl one out with Poo Curling, the table top game of curlin...

Cool Runnings - Down From The Attic 72- Christmas Special!
Luke from the Down from the attic I recommend vitamin c supplements & vitamin d supplements.
Well Luke from the Down from the attic I recommend you sprite soda & pickle juice for your stomach/tummy.
I forgot to mention lego showcase UA-cam videos.
Well Luke from the down from the attic have you tried train simulator video games & Nancy Drew PC mystery games such as last train to blue moon canyon?
Well Down from the attic have you tried B-Daman?
Well Luke from Down from the attic I salute you!
Well when you were telling me the game mechanics table top role-playing game Ghostbusters about rolling as many dice as their are points that actually had me think of table top war games like warhammer 40,000. As for the Ghostbusters the board game it has me thinking about star wars Imperial assault & mansion of madness.
Well I didn't know there were so many marble mazes! The different start I would try to do is to use my B-Daman strike cobra to fire a marble into the starting position or from the start spot?
Down from the attic can you send me the links to the castle storm & battle knights? I'm having difficulty finding videos of those games.
I loved this game as a kid. It's pure RNG which means you can still win when your siblings are older and better at games.
You are a legend - had loads of this stuff as a kid, they don’t make toys like this anymore judging by the shite I see my nieces and nephews playing with
Really fun game! My whole family loved it and it was easy enough for my 7-years old daughter to understand the rules straight away
My son (5) and I watch your videos every day in the car before he goes into school. We’ve gotten some games on eBay thanks to your reviews! We love your videos, you deserve many more subscribers and views! We have a game to suggest as a modern classic: Oh No Volcano! We thought it was a similar game to this one you’ve shown here. We hope you would like it! 😊
Just watched an episode from 5 years ago. Kongman, what a game. Wish I found you a lot earlier Luke
Hahaha, a friend of mine had this game and brought it to school on the last day of school, when you could bring toys to school back then. A few months later, I got it myself for Christmas. So simple by so addictive. Loved it!! 😊😊
5:49 I'm A Huge Fan Of The Beano. Thanks Mate. XXxxx 🇬🇧 🇦🇺 🇺🇸
All of my friends had Tomy and all I had was a cheap knock-off with no additional accessories etc. Tomy was many times better for the fact you'd want to buy more for it, which is great for Tomy. I've recently discovered Plarail (the non-Thomas variety), which predates Tomy Trains by about 10 years and was the basis for Tomy Trains as sold in the UK, Australia, NZ etc. The rails are a lighter blue colour the trains are significantly more detailed and to scale, based on actual trains found across Japan. They mostly lack the reversing feature which is a shame, but some have a 2 speed gearbox. Most importantly, they're very affordable, great for anyone with a few spare quid in their pocket.
So good to see you again! Glad you're doing better, take care and be sure to get more of what you need! (Health wise AND have wise!!). Enjoyed this episode, great to learn you're ok and see these games you found etc!
Great rpg game and excellent review. 👍
Hey, I may have asked you this but..have reviewed the game Hands Down 👐 🖐 I remember it from the late 80's..eraly 90s. I was a little too old for it..but, it looked cool..and fun. :)
💪☺️
Such a great video. I love the same kinds of games. Keep up the great work!
This reminds me of the 1986 movie with David Bowie and Jim Hensen..David Bowie's big hair!! So, 80s 📼 video 📹 😊 :)
Years ago I remember they came out with a Clue Jr. Where you (the kids) had to figure out 🤔 who stole a glass of 🥛 milk and a peace of Chocolate cake-this was in the mid to late 80's 😊 :) I don't like how Clue changed to all high tech stuff, using cell phones 📱I miss the classic stuff..👋
We are watching all of your videos and seeing you get a brand new game makes me think my recent purchase: I got a brand new, never used copy of Mystery Mansion from EBay. Our son is almost 5 and we watched your videos before he goes to school or anytime we have to wait somewhere in the car for a while. He wanted Mystery Mansion after we watched your video on it. I found one on eBay that had all of the pieces still in the plastic, the room boxes had never even been folded. What luck!!! And it’s a fun game too!
The house on the box cover looks alot like the house from the intro to the original Scooby Doo Where Are You‼️🧐🤔🎃
i like this game be a @sshole to another player ;)
Hold on, aren’t you the guy who does the voice over for the adverts and how to assemble videos by character options? Because you sound like it.
My mom got this for me when I was young. I never really played it much, but tried it out since it was a gift.
The pictures of the characters were from an era, when we all knew what men & women were, could speak our minds, woke was something you did when your alarm went off. If this upsets your "modern sensibilities" go enjoy all those movies & TV made for modern audiences.
Owned this one as a kid. I still think it is one of the more brilliant board games from its era.
Just waiting for this game to be back in stock.
I'm kind of where you were then but I have a host of Hero Quest games and I wait to get into them
It aint battlemasters big
I wish I could play this, looks very cool
Nice video, thanks for sharing!👍
The video that started it all.
Fun fact: general jumbo was actually in the weekly comics in 1970
Is this game still available? Where can I buy this?
Much better than Subbuteo !! :)
There’s a Level 3 now!
I had the other version of Ghostly Galleon that was made later, a more cartoony game with a giant ship that rotated on a base to knock players overboard. Any chance of you covering that one at some point?
We have the newer version you don’t build as you go. It still resembles the old version (doesn’t have a toilet). But it is all set up at the beginning. I grew up with the 1980s version you build as you go. The new version we have rarely works on the first try. If we followed the rule to let it fail and wait for the next turn, we’d never play or see it work.
We are missing one of the green bottles. We have 3 x hearts, 1 x diamond and 1 x clubs. Can someone please tell me what's below the sixth bottle?
Such a shame that nothing is made like this anymore
I found the reproduction a couple of years ago. I love it, but it's a pain in the neck to set up. I've had to make a deal with my sister. If I want someone to play it with me, I have to do the set up myself. I love the original commercial for it. My sister has an interesting way to play. She likes killing off her own characters, if she doesn't want a specific character to win (she really dislikes the Boyfriend). Me, I'd try to get the cat to win.
Glad to see you back and better!! Welcome back!
It look fun, I like the box too, really cool. Nice video sir.
