59:15 the reason why they have so many dps characters is simple: that's what most people want to play.

Not only it is easier to put heroes in their game, their heroes are already established characters that people love, contrary to OW that needs to make massive marketing, specially when they make quirky/fugly or strange characters that don't have a real comedy side like Hog/Junkrat.

55:33 there is even already a leak for Mr Fantastic. It seems he will be in the game right now in a few hours already in day 1 and it seems to be a tank.

Don’t care. SOTE is worth it and will have my vote. When i played SOTE, i played a Game. I BOUGHT an expansion, but i still played a game. It has my vote for GOTE. I don’t care about this definition that definition or DLC shouldn’t be nominated. SOTE is worth it and therefore i shall vote for it

all I know is that I played almos every game of the main categories and Shadow of the Erdtree was the best... gaming experience... (not gonna say game) I had this year.

I totally agree with you. Especially since I feel like it robbed many games of a rightful place. Was hoping for a silent hill 2 nomination since so much love and dedication was put into that and offered a unique game experience not only for new players but honoring the legacy of the original. Hope this will not effect future nominations 😢

I have to agree with this. Another point is that this will only encourage more garbage companies to further strip out content from their games to be repackaged (at a cost) just so that can get those accolades. Maybe if there was a "Best DLC Award" That might be something, on the condition that the DLC must be free.

Its pc to console that kills skill based matchmaking pc players are so much more engrossed and sweaty with higher frames that give them a 0.5 sec slide advantage with the everyday joe playing on a 60hz screen i play on a 30hz screen cos my xbox hdmi broke and im a 1.6kd on cod and defiant and the advantage is clear to see

Most retraux have something or other making it easier than the real thing but this looks like the opposite problem. I mean since when did we need to match 3 to get power ups? As one example. Might be more fun at least.

i had a pirate cd called 300 games, it had about 50 nes, sega saturn and some other random games on it, this just feels so nostalgic for me i really want to buy it

Good review but one thing is a little wrong: many of these games do in fact follow modern trends heavily. You would not see Party House on the NES, since it's a poker inspired roguelike, which is a style that has only recently become trendy. Pilot Quest takes strong inspiration from games like Cookie Clicker and Minecraft, and Zeldoth is like a quirky homage to no mans sky. Rock On Island is Bloons, and so on. And that's what's so cool about the collection, it's like "what if most modern game genres and trends were invented at the same time in the 80s?"

One thing that ruined the immersion for me was Game 47. Quibble Race already exists, exactly as it appears in UFO, sans the art style. I played it as a Kid on Newgrounds. You can STILL google "Quibble Race" play it right now.

Good review and very underrated channel, but if I can politely offer a small criticism: I do think you harped on the same point for a lot of the video. You essentially stated that "the games were true to 80's games in style and difficulty, which some will love and some will hate" multiple times. When scripting videos like this I think it's a good idea to have chapters for each core aspect of the game you think they did well or did poorly.

Imo, the "Save" feature that a lot of emulators have, where you can literally save to a point in your playthrough and restart the game just as you were at that point, was the much needed upgrade for retro games because it gives you the ability to practice tough sections without the need to go through everything that came before. A game shouldn't necessarily autosave but at least give players the option to do it themselves if they want to. I'm the kind of person that loses interest if I need to play the same section too many times over and there's a sea of other games to try out. + you don't know if the game will be feeling any rewarding after beating that section you got consistently stuck at, so it's a gamble of your time and I'd rather not gamble it on the same 10 minutes of level intro over and over again.

Just deleted XDefiant a couple of days ago, too. Not surprised it wont last much longer. Game has a ton of issues and copy/paste elements that do bot warrant long-term play individualized enough for concurrent play. My favorite part was team Echelon as I loved Splinter Cell: Double Agent and it's multiplayer component, but aside from that -- barren game.
