I loved ocean view, big part of my childhood
Why is that weirdo had to keep carrying that stupid stick around? Like a big baby.
WHAT A FRIGHTENING ABC MOVIE: THE DEATH OF OCEAN VIEW PARK. NOW… I’D LIKE TO SEE HOW THE DEMISE OF THIS PARK REALLY STARTED, Kenneth Huang 9/21/24. PS: SET A TIMER FROM THE FIRST EXPLOSION,
Despite the dated appearance and a product of the 70’s era disaster genre, this was actually a decent movie. Good character development, solid story, and well performed stunts and live effects.
does anyone know the name of the song at ( :2525 ) It sounds like ...The sidewalks of new york?
Mare Winningham looks a lot like my first wife. Some good times and memories!
12:46 Wow, they still have power during a CAT 2 storm…amazing
Grampa Munster!❤❤❤
The tilt o Whirl on a normal day is sheer terror to me. I can’t imagine it getting stuck and not stopping.
I saw this on TV when I was 7......it was so fresh and crisp.....it looks so blurry and cheap now....time has not been kind.....it IS archival footage now, being 45 years old, so we have to make some allowances.
OCEAN VIEW PARK WOUND UP A TANGLED MESS OF STEEL & FLAMES. EVERYBODY GOT OUT ALIVE, THANK GOODNESS! Kenneth Huang. 5/27/24.
I grew up in east OceanView in the 60’s and 70’s I loved going to the amusement park I grew up on 10th bay st. I remember in the 70’s and early 80’s the beach and motels would be packed . Now nothing they destroyed OceanView by building high dollar houses 5 feet apart ! EOV now is filled with people from places that Virginia Beach because they can’t afford to by homes there so they come here and act like they’re true locals when they’re just faking the Funk !!!
negli anni 80 men9 male che esistevi.

i like this movie
I remember this park very well.I was in the U.S. Navy back then and lived first on base in Norfolk then off base just up the street from where the park was.I went there plenty of times from 1970 to 1979.Went to the park as well as the beach and also to the club that was there.I remember when they exploded the Rollercoaster I was there. Watched the movie on TBS trying to find myself where they exploded the coaster but could never pinpoint myself....the movie was very good back then considering the budget they had.
TBH this is one of the weakest A Little Night Music editions because M was a bit too popular for this type of particular programme. Other artists involve in these editions are folk stars, jazz bands and instrumental players.
Looks like Rod Serling had a hand in the quotes of some of these weirdos
It took them to bizzaro world is where it tooythem
Yes...really great...human zoos. 😮😢
wow thanks for posting love Lena
I'm a great niece of the last owner, Dudley Cooper. I never went to the park, but my dad worked there as a little boy and my grandfather helped manage it, I think. My dad was sad to see it destroyed. I'm so glad this documentary exists. I hope I can get to the museum one day.
2:38 I have to agree, there's only ONE Coney Island ... the beloved park in CINCINNATI. New York's "Coney Island"? Nah.
Neat disaster movie but also a sweet coming of age movie as well. When Mare Winningham cries I cry.
That is what you call a ride.
I’m a transplant to Hampton Roads since 2009. What’s the significance of this movie. I tried to watch this movie and I cannot! LoL! I am curious though
❤️🔥🔥❤👏👏👏
this movie sucked gigantic donkey dks
I was in this movie. I was the guy in sunglasses rushing by Mike Conners at the 1:20:58 mark. During the filming I also helped Mare Winningham who accidentally stumbled. She reached out her hand to me and I pulled her up. Thankfully she wasn’t hurt. I’ve always been a big fan of hers. If you’re interested go watch her movies. She’s played a lot of very meaningful and heartfelt roles. She’s such a great actress. The movie was entertaining. But it seemed like they built the park on top of underground oil tanks to get so many explosions. Lastly, I wish the editors didn’t use red letters in credits. Red is terrible for film and video. It bleeds and sometimes so much it becomes unreadable. As an editor, producer and director of over 300 films and videos I’ve never used red for that reason. White is always the best.
You gave an Emmy winning performance .
always loved mare winningham!
@@jakespoon5549 Thanks Jake. I accept the award. I’d like to thank all the people who made this possible, etc, etc, etc. 😀
I see you ❤ what movies have you been in on IMDB?
Coney island is the most magical and happiest place on earth 🌎 And it is where dreams come true,
Everyone from Northside jr high school sneak out to get in the movie
The Relax song was dreadful
In 1981, the song Pop Musik was used for the 900th episode of Top of the Pops hence why this wasn't used.
This movie sucked giant sweaty donkey nuts i seen better acting in porn
Is there buzzing and dialing sounds throughout this movie or am I hearing it from somewhere else
I grew up in Norfolk in the late50s and60s. My family and alot of my cousins spent many a good time at Ocean View. We had huge family picnics there, rode rides, played in the water. My favorite ride was the scary house thing. It was scary but we loved it. I must've rode that thing 100 times. I think Ocean View amusement park should have been saved, definitely.
I guess you meant the "Tunnel of Love". I always liked to hear the fat lady laugh!
*Alot* is a town in India. *A lot* is more than one of something.
I have a tag from the bath house. Stamped made in occupied Japan. Found it on the beach. My grand father worked on the "rocket" in 33 and said there was rot then. I still have Skeeball prizes. I was an "extra" in "the death of OV park.
They had to use a dozer to pull the rocket down.
I remember watching some documentary where there were these amusement parks still standing where there's some type of radiation in the air and nobody could go there .. whole towns even..
Joe Mannix with a Family 👪
1:26:11 Screaming
A kid that played on my baseball team, the Pollards Chicken Reds, was in that movie.
Normally ppl evacuate when there is a hurricane 🌀 coming 🥹
Gross ...men kissing other man... disgusting.
It's funny that a hurricqqane is passing and the blinds are open. It's hurricane season on the East coast afew a. I still get to see Mannix on TV again whenever I decide to stay up until 1am.
good fun
Crikey, first time I've seen this in 42 years! And it's been hiding here in plain sight.
In the 1960's my family lived one block off the beach & about a 15-20 minute walk to the Ocean View Amusement Park. I loved going to the park when it would open for the summer. 20:48 Rosele theater. That right across from the park. I remember going to see a movie and then go over to the park before walking home. Memories flooding back. I still remember our house address, 917 Hillside Ave. I left Norfolk in 1967 and I have gone back a number of times. The first time was in the early 80's. I found that our house along with a number of other homes had been replaced with run down apts. I thought when I became an adult on my own I would go back to live there, but then the US navy sent me to where I could live in Florida. That was better. Considering how things really have gone down hill where I grew up in Ocean view. PJ
I first saw this when I was a teenager. Now I am fifty!! Reminds me of all those mysteries I enjoyed as a young school girl. 😍🤗😊
With the writers strike, I found out there's so much better content on the web vs. the TV. I got rid of cable and just keep a tablet connected to the TV with an HDMI bluetooth adapter. YT and the internet archive have more than enough viewing material, it'd take years to go through it all.
I never saw this movie but I remember Mannix. Some days I want to go to an amusement park.l remember the Tilt-a-whirl.
