2HacksGarage is a channel that covers a little bit of everything in the automotive world from vintage drag racing, car shows, restorations, engine building, muscle cars, LS swaps, and much more! Whether it be my 521 cubic inch big block Ford Powered 1968 Ford Thunderbird, Micah's slick and quick 1991 LS swapped Chevy Silverado 1500, working with Jimmy on building engines, Kyle's 1968 Ram Air GTO, Eddie's 1972 Chevelle, Todd's 1980 Camaro Z/28, or my dad's 1968 Dodge Dart 340 Six pack.... we are definitely having fun! While we are not experts, we do have a large background in automotive "know how" and teamwork is our mantra! Can't have the shop life work right unless you work smarter and not harder to achieve your hot rod goals! So what's in store for the 2Hacks future? Two Tons of Big Block Fun! “Forgotten” In Car Drag Racing Footage of My 1968 Ford Thunderbird #big
Is this the only 1968 Ford Thunderbird drag racing on UA-cam!? Could be! This isn't just any old Thunderbird; it is one wild ride! 521 cubic inch big block Ford, Weiand tunnel ram with a pair of Holley QuickFuel 650 CFM carbs, a lumpy Howard's camshaft, MSD 6AL ignition, MSD pro billet distributor with a two step, aluminum heads, and high compression pistons. This big inch high horsepower mill sends its power through a Cope Racing Transmissions built C6 with a Broader transbrake. Outback is a Ford 9 inch with a spool and super steep gears, which will be getting changed out soon. I explain that in this video, way too much gear! Now onto why I am making this video....

Anyway, I finally downloaded the footage and decided to make a quick video of a few passes I made at the track. The two passes weren't that great, as I explain in the video. That being said, drag racing is always fun and I had a blast that day! Always a blast doing smokey burnout, racing, and hanging out with good people! Get the car on the lift and find out if your rear shocks are reaching full extension before the rest of the suspension is. If so, you need longer shocks or a way to extend them a bit more. The violent wheel hop can be tamed down by stiffening up the shocks on extension....it slows down the motion. Also check your pinion angle and set it accordingly....generally angled down 3-4 degrees, but expirimentation in that dept. will pay off when you find the right angle.
it is going on the lift net week if my parts come in, shock are the right length blew them out, ha! the pinion angle will need to be checked, we are changing up a lot in the back of that car. Stay tuned!

I'm going to try and get going soon got cellulitis again in my feet and while I still have my feet, I would like to get to a NNN and make it down the track but I have to get the videos up and 500 subscription holders.
