what are the dimensions of the larger bucket please
The costco planter is 22" wide at the top and 15" wide at the base and 18" tall. The pot for the bamboo fountain in our other fountain video is 15" wide and 17" tall. Basically any pot that is larger than a 5 gallon bucket (11.5" wide x 14.5" tall) will do.

How often do you change out the water?
We top off every few weeks when it's hot and change the water/rinse the pump aroung every 3 months

drilling the hole in the outer pot was dumb too.. you're going to lose water.. this design is awful..
Think about it... the water stays in the 5 gal bucket and recirculate with the pump. We're you thinking the water that falls into the outter pot somehow gets back unto the 5 gal bucket? For that to happen, I would need to drill extra holes into the lower portion of the 5 gal bucket. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I'll have to measure tomorrow, but it's slightly taller than a 5 gallon bucket by a few inches. Any planter that is larger than a 5 gallon bucket will work.

Curious…what supported the edges of the screen?
Good question. We made a few of these in different sizes and never needed anything to support the metal mesh other than the 5 gal bucket.
Reminds me of my childhood, my father tutored me to make things wonderful.

I'll let you know if we make an updated video. Maybe when we take it camping. We absolutely love it. It's our favorite thing we've done to the van. It makes it so functional. We go to Home Depot a lot and love that we can fold the seats down to fit full sheets of plywood and the kids say theyre sooo comfortable falling asleep when coming back from long trips. They used to wale up with neck pain, but now they're lounging since they can recline the seats!

Yes, there's a replaceable foam filter. It comes with 3 extra.

This may have been asked and, if so, i apologize. When I look at the fountain, there are three size choices. Is there a benefit of getting a specific size? 6 watt, 6.5 watt, or 20 watt? I can’t wait to make this with my grandchildren.
Hi, good question! The 6 watt should be fine for this fountain. The higher the watts, the more power and more water that comes out. If you watch the video we made of a different fountain, we used a 20 watt and you can see the difference in power. ua-cam.com/video/UlBIAJM4PEA/v-deo.html

So it looks like there could be a little bit of water loss if any water goes out the hole in the big pot, right?
Exactly. The first spray nozzle we used was too wide, so we went with the narrower nozzle to prevent excessive water loss. Another way around this issue would be to drill a few holes on the bottom/sides of the 5 gallon bucket so eventually the water can re-enter the 5 gallon bucket, but if you do this, you'll need to use silicon where your drilled a hole in your pot for the power cord
Sorry I misread your comment. The water stays in the 5 gallon bucket with the narrow spray pattern so you don't have to worry about it. You still lose water through evaporation so we top it off periodically
Please make sure she has no loose flying hairs when she’s using a drill it can get caught up and pull her hair out.
