Elilee Blize dissapointing quality, what other frameset could be considered the best value in 2024.
I quickly touch on Merida (Reacto) bikes, then describe my experience with Elilee Blize. Spoiler alert: I was dissapointed by the quality of the frame and felt that UA-cam channels that covered it (Road Cycling Academy) and Cam Nichols did not do a fair and honest review of it.

Bicycle headset compatability: FSA vs Cane Creek vs Enduro.

Here I try to answer whether you can use Cane Creek or Enduro bearing in an integrated headset in a frame that was designed with FSA in mind (stock FSA headset). Unfortunately, FSA bearings are very poorly sealed and there is no stainless steel option. Because it is an angular contact bearing there is no option to use industrial standard bearings, so the only real alternative to FSA will be eit...

I have been working on my BB an had a chance to look inside of my bicycle frame with an endoscope. I could not see anything terrible apart from the delamination around the bottle cage rivets. Ironic, as I do not use bottle cages. Relevant to you if you are going to buy a similar frame or are just curious about carbon frame manufacturing. It does not look to "wrinkly".

What is the best type of grease for protection of the main bicycle bearings? In my opinion it is silicone grease as it does not spread around the surface and attracts less dust than traditional mineral or synthetic oil based greases. It is also a good protectant against water ingress.

Great frame on my Reacto 2025... Unfortunately, the chainring came a bit bent and retailer didn't want to fix it.
Wow which store?

What is the best blend (paraffin wax and micro crystal)? Thanks
biggest problem is if they screw up at the combine office and some orders are missing when you get the bag - they are still tracked as "delivered"
i tried to avoid it by waiting with my 2nd order until the first was shipped, still they managed to combine it before it left china
Ehy shoud I. I LOVE IT and I HATE that now they shipp one item at a time. If I knew that if they reverter to that I would have stopped buying from them.
I have to pay customs tax because of this "upgrade"
Thanks Sir ! Very informative
Thanks for your help.. I was confused as i wanted to combine items but one of them only arriving after two months.
Why would you want to combine items? Doesn't really give you benefits.
no i will not do it anymore.@@Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding
I'm so freaking angry right now. I just found out AliExpress combined 22 ordered that I ordered in a few days apart to be sure that it would not happen. They just piled everything up and screwed me over. Now I'm 100 procent sure I will be fined by customs in my country. What a bunch of #@@#@@ :(
The only thing I would have done differently, is to embed some fibreglass fibres in the epoxy. Epoxy by itself is not that strong, if the wheel has any flex it is possible the epoxy may break.
thanks
on knowing waxing; I like tend to use wax for all and sundry bee wax available at hardwares, eg. in locks where keys won't get lubricated and go into pockets, as well as bolts nuts for keep from rusting,
Why bees wax though and not paraffin? Paraffin offers better lubcriaction and is cheaper.
@@Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding Beeswax can soften paraffin wax when used in low concentration. This increases wet condition reliability.
I want to buy some items from aliexpress, but it only offers me separate shipping costs, even from the same seller. How do I request a combined shipping price from the same seller? Like, the "request total" option on ebay?
You don't get to save on this. They do.
Yeah aparently they do, I contacted a seller, he told me that they don't earn anything from shipping and that if I buy 2 or more things from them at once the shipping cost gets slightly discounted by aliexpress, or something like that. I haven't tried it yet.
I've done everything except replace the piston seal and piston...nothing has worked. Multiple bleed, exercise and clean the piston, everything! I guess that piston is just a lazy bastard!.

Whenever i get a combined package is says Delivery failed and then g’ets sent back to the dripshippers and then THEY keep my money
I placed my order on Aliexpress that has several items, all in one transaction but from different sellers (about 22 different sellers). These are just inexpensive stationary items. Will this come as combined or separate order?
Most likely they will, but it is a bit random. You will now shortly after placing the order.
My issue with combined shipping is that when the combine the orders they get my address wrong. Then I never get my package. When I try to dispute the orders they deny my refund. Any it is not possible to talk to a person.
It's worse for the environment, NOT better. Each item is still wrapped individually, but now they're adding an EXTRA bag to put them all into and now each parcel has to make 1 EXTRA trip to their collection centre. On top of that, it's delivered by local postal service, who will go past my house every single day regardless of whether I have mail or not, there's no extra effort made on the delivery side of things other than quickly stopping to drop it into my letter box. Instead what I have is parcels that are now sitting at the collection centre in china for 12 days so they can combine orders I made over a 3 day period for a total of 5 items. There's no advantage, there's no environmental benefit (its worse) and it doesn't save me a single cent. All it does it make my parcels get delayed and add to environmental waste. Aliexpress are stupid or full of shit, or both. Fair enough there are some countries that charge per parcel (like the commenter below claiming $25US per parcel which seems insane) at customs or don't have a regular postal service to deliver regular mail as well as parcels but they would be a minority and as such, this combined shipping "upgrade" should be determined by the CUSTOMER. Then and only then, would their claims of being environmentally friendly and saving the customer be true.
My first MTB was cleaned and lubricated with wet oil lube once per year, 6 Y long, 80.000km, never replaced chain, cassette, crank..and still sifted very well..unfortunately it was stolen..idea was it to ride it 100.000km by lubing 1x year strategy
I lose some of my package because stupid combined delivery !!!
Where is that option? I need to use to buy several items at once since it will be more expensive at custom if I got them separsted it but I don't see it anywhere
I learned the hard way how bad combined delivery is. If even 1 order out of the few you made gets lost or delayed, THE ENTIRE combined order stays in China indefenitely. The solution I found is to mark the one missing order as "delivered" (if the ordwr is inexpensive). A couple days later the rest of the order gets sent. I did that and the lost order came a month after the rest of the combined order, which got moving once thw ali system showed that missing order as no longer relevant. To avoid combined order altogether, I took someone's advice on a forum and started ordering from 1 seller at a time, and waiting until the tracking says "arrived at depature gate" or (even better) "departed country of origin" before making my next order. Ali is really harming themselves with this, because I shop much less now due to having to wait 2 weeks between orders to make sure I avoid combined order. I hope they realize it's not profitable and cancel it.
That's interesting advice. So if multiple packages are all given the same tracking number once they're combined, and then you mark on of those orders as 'delivered' , the other one's won't get affected by this? I'm tempted to try. I'm extra frustrated as well because they combined a few of my packages that had Standard shipping with one small package of 2 euros that had Saver Shipping.
@@i.popescu7240 once they've been combined it's too late as far as I know; once a package is marked as having become "combined" (on their tracking), all of your shipped orders have already been through the consolidation warehouse and by then marking one as delivered will have no effect, since they are all in the same package now. The time window in which I've marked delayed/problematic orders as "delivered" to get other orders un-stuck is before that happens, i.e., if I see a few orders have shipped and are in the sorting center or the consolidation warehouse, but one has not yet shipped. That is when the rest tend to stay on hold, for a while at least. Although, in recent months the combined delivery method has been on and off - they occasionally stop using it temporarily during an big order boom, when getting packages out there faster it key (November rush, christmas, big sales). Hard to always know, seems like the rules keep changing.
@@Agbfj557 thank you so much for responding so quickly! it is very helpful! may I ask one more time to make sure I understand correctly.. so the packages that have been upgraded to 'combined' packaging are sent out together from China? I was under the impression they still get sent out individually through different modes of transport, and then once they are in the destination country they are gathered at an Ali express hub and placed into one bag. this video seemed to imply as well why it all takes so long but maybe I misunderstood. the reason I ask is because I'm worried my Standard shipping packages will arrive in my country first and then I will have to wait 5-6 weeks for the Saver package one to also arrive before I can have them all at once. I hope that makes sense but also hope I am wrong! If you are able to clarify I'd really appreciate it and thank you again for taking the time!
@@i.popescu7240 No problem, I know how frustrating this stuff can be. My impression is that combined packages that I get are packaged together back in China, because the bigger package they are all put in (usually a grey nylon bag) also has Chinese on the sticker. Not sure if this is always the case, or if it changes with some destination countries. If it's combined back in China, the difference between Saver shipping and Standard doesn't seem to matter too much (they move when the all your active orders have arrived at the warehouse there). I do tend to use the same shipping method for a bunch of orders if I think they'll be combined, just in case it does matter logistically, but I'm not sure it does matter if indeed it's all combined over there. I did notice that there seems to be a quicker shipping and processing time when it's a "15 day delivery option" (green font), which I honestly didn't think was real. This, too, may depend on which country the package is sent to, but as far as what happens in China - I do get the impression that sellers ship orders faster when it's the 15 days option (whether it's applied to Saver of to Standard. Usually it's offered for both, if it appears). So, if I do decide to make a few orders simultaneously and I know they might get combined, I try to use a 15 day option and the same ahipping method for them all, if possible. Does seem to get tjings moving quicker. Of course, it's not always available, but when it is.
Can we order only 1 item & choose combined delivery (because of lower price) ? Or will aliexpress cancel it because there is no other order to combine with ?
As far as I can tell, you don't really get to choose. My orders have been combined even when they were not marked for combined delivery (either by me or as an option in the cart at all). We seem to have zero control, and the only deciding factor is whether the customer ordered more than 1 package at the same time. If you ordered something that's supposed to be combined, but you did not make any other order from another seller while the package is still in China, they simpy ship it regularly (without the detour of sending it to the "consolidation warehouse", which is where packages wait to be combined). I personally prefer it because it gets to me faster, the consolidation process slows it down the more packages you have to combine.
Hello! So my quickest item should have been here by March and the latest item in May. My order didn't move nearly a month with the tracking number. Should I open a dispute or wait more, what do you recommend?
I ordered a few things one being a shirt for 12 dollars, a hat for 6 dollars and a pin for 1 dollar, And they were all combined. How much longer do you think it will take to get too me, The shirt was supposed to arrive April 11th. The Hat April 7th and the pin May 8th. Will the whole package not come until May 8th? I need it before June 5th for a convention. (I only paid a 1.69 on shipping which was for the pin. The shirt and hat had free shipping)
Squirt has crude paraffin? I think that is what I heard. For a moment or at first I thought he said 2-propanol
It does have crude wax. I think you are right.
Has anyone had experiences with items missing that were supposed to be in combined delivery? This has happened to me on two occasions. Maybe it is coincidence but both times the missing items were the most expensive and also largest in size. Ali E. Each time I created a dispute and was refunded but I would like to avoid this in future. I guess I will have to do as the video suggests if no other way to avoid.
Yes
Same here and try to get proof for it
Me too. It was combined delivery of 16!!! Items and it was delivered only 1!!! of them in the shipment. Very bad experience! It’s very good advice in the video to wait that the item will be shipped and only then to order something else!
I wish the combined delivery wasn't so much lower than AliExpress standard shipping
Sorry this happened. I'm waiting now for my 2nd set of EIE wheels and I absolutely love them. They definitely should have sent you a new wheel and then once you received the new one you could send the bad one back. I would be very frustrated with the options they gave you. That isn't right.
Surprised this is the first eie vid when you search for eie. I have i30AS for mtb, and I've done drops to flat and ridden for 1K km, no issues so far.
That is very pity as this is the only one tubeless ready (without rim bead holes) wheelset has air leaking problem since our sales in 2016,we already improved our production and promise that there will be no same things happened. We accept the previous mistake and improve it ,which is a very good voice for our brand development. Here,EIE promises that if your EIE has same air leak problem(you ordered tubeless wheelset),you can send wheels back to EIE.And EIE will bear all the costs incurred including returning shipping cost.Thank you
Thank you i was wondering about that to ( how refund fast shipping cost paid) I am stil not sure if combined shipping applies only for items ordered from the same seller or also from multiple sellers. So far my orders have not all been thrown together. What is you experience on that?
They combine deliveries from multiple sellers. If it is multiple items from one seller my experience was that they combine them as well but that is to be expected.
@@Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding I also just noticed that they now charge shipping fees per each individual item by a ingle seller if you want it faster even though the seller will put all items in 1 package. A new meaning to 'combined shipping' Example: 1 seller, 3 items each under $3, faster shipping $ 2.16 + $ 2.16 + $ 4.57 That is insane. I tried several other seller and all had this new system.
@@mdgroot2065 try to make the order without paying, this way the order is in pending status waiting for the payment to be made, then contact the seller and ask for a shipping cost reduction, in many cases it will work perfectly.
Combined Delivery will be rigth for me to use. If I buy from many different sellers, and they put it into one big bag I will be happy in EU. Here I have to pay 25 US doller for each packet. If they put them together en one packed I do only have to pay it one time
No. They charge exactly the same for delivery. The only difference is it takes longer and often the box crosses over customs limit and you get charged for import duty.
WHAT???? I dropship to most European countries and I always choose 'Aliexpress Standard Shipping' which is never more than $3 US Dollars. What country do you live in, because I've never seen a single country anywhere in the world where I had to pay more than $3:50 for shipping there, unless you are always buying large, heavy and expensive items?

Can't know how I bumped onto this. All in all Damn good clip ❤️. I also watched those similar from MStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these vids. MSTAR TUTORIALS also had amazing information about similiar money making things on his vids.
you seem like a very nice person but you obviously clearly have no clue what you're talke about. The many chain rollers in a chain require lubing. Runnin nonlubed chains causes chains to heat up (due to friction). Lubing the intricate roller constructions in every joint (2 per joint) is essential and different clean lubing already shows massive differences. If you add in contamination, it becomes even more obvious that dirt-attracting lubes are to be avoided. After drag due to non optimal aero position of the rider, friction losses inflicted by poorly lubed or dirty chains are the most important cause of energy loss. So this attention to lube of the chain is not a temporary fad, it has been around and will continue to evolve. Hopefully increase the 300K longevity. Oh yeah, isopropanol is also a methylated spirit, not something separate.
My point was not that you should not lubricating the chains, it was that it is not as critical and is very forgiving. If that was the only point you have obtained from my video I obviously have not done my job right. Try conducting an experiment - run your vehicle completely dry for 100 Kms (remove motor oil) run your bike chain dry for 100 Kms - compare the results.
Spent the whole video talking and showing your face. No one cares, show the process and final results. Thats what you selected as the key frame didnt you? Not your face. This is like the path less pedaled guy, always showing his face in every video like anyone cares
Thanks for your time and suggestions. This is not a practical instruction, rather a summary of the info on the subject. I feel that there is enough guides showing how to melt paraffin and swoosh your chain around in it.

So how often do you have to re-wax or maintain a newly waxed chain?
I usually do it every 200 kms. However, it's been reported that a waxing can last until 300 kms.

I have bulit >10 wheelsets using EiE Carbon rims, I have only good things to say about the quality of their work as well as their customer service. I can't see that your specific issue is that hard to fix, one drop of 2 component epoxy would fill the hole and stop your leak, or just wrap the rim with regular TL-tape. I don't share your concern with "pressure building up" inside the rim since the spoke nipple holes and valv hole isn't typically very air tight, but if you are afraid of this, just remove the rubber o-ring from the valv stem nut. It is not uncommon that rims get water inside this "compartment" when riding in rain or when whashing the wheel, some manufacturers (ex Shimano) have a water draining hole drilled on the side of the rim. Also, I feel the customer service options EiE have offered you -- discout or free replacement -- are very fair, what more did you expect?
I guess, the biggest misunderstanding comes from the fact that that you and the manufacturer on one hand (are you a reseller?), and me on the other have different views on the subject. I aim to only have one set of wheels, not 10. But I want it to be as good as it can get. What you say seems reasonable - from a business perspective. Does not make sense from the end customer perspective. I have stumbled upon this problem by accident. An enormous pressure was created inside of the rim which then pushed the air back out through the sealed hole. Which in turn, created bubbles on its surface. Not only the manufacturer created an unnecessary hole - but they could also not seal it properly. Moreover, they assured me that it was sealed properly when they were specifically asked this question. That is to explain what was wrong with their engineering and manufacturing process. As for the customer support - no, just as I said, it was not a free replacement. I had to invest additional money to fix it in a way that it was intended to be in the first place. Not always it comes down to value as well. Sometimes, you just want a superior product.
@@Hard_Work_Is_Rewarding You're right in that you are entitled to have high expectations and get the promised product / function / service you paid for. You say "enormous pressure was created inside of the rim", how did you go about measuring this pressure? This is what I question, and your concern for "rim explosion". The area inside the rim is not air tight, air will pass out around nipples and valve. Imagine a tubed road tire with 7 bar / 100 psi, do you think the rim will explode if the tube fails resulting in air rushing into the rim? Imagine a TL road tire mounted on a TL rim with holes + TL tape, do you think the rim will explode if the TL tape fails? I might be wrong, but I find this to be very unlikely. I'm not a reseller or bikeshop, just a regular dude. But I have built around 100 wheels, alu and carbon, and serviced/rebuilt another 100 from various major brands (Roval, DuraAce, other Shimano, Fulcrum, DT Swiss, Newmen, Hope, Stans, RaceFace, WTB, other). Based on my experience, I rate EiE Carbon products / value / services as being very good.
@@and30ers 1. Of course, there is no way to measure the pressure inside the rim. However, after I took off the nut that held the valve in place I could hear the same whistling sound and feel the air escaping same as it would when you realease tyre pressure through the valve. I just took note of the time it took the pressure to be realeased and judged about pressure indirectly like that. The fact that the air was violently escaping indicates that the rim internals were airtight. 2. Further, you question rim damage by air pressure. Please have a look at this bikerumor.com/2019/03/12/enve-pressure-relief-nut-keeps-carbon-tubeless-road-rims-from-popping/ Enve states that air pressure inside of the rim may lead to delamination. By the way, that's another problem, currently the industry standard is no drain holes instead of drain holes present.

Been riding continental for a while, but recently I switched to a new bike and hookless rims and I didn't know about incompatibility of these tyres with hookless rims. Tire fits normal and I was riding without problems, and then a month ago a hit a hole and it punctured the sidewall, no fix, had to buy a new one. This morning I was in a peloton ride and the guy in front avoided a hole just too close and I hit it really hard, it got both my tires flat and again both damaged on the sidewall. I only learned about hookless incompatibility today, after losing 3 expensive tires, now I have ordered a pair of schwalbe. I loved the continental performance wise, maybe when they update their tires to accept hookless I will give it another shot.
Are these the satin finish?
Yes, they are.
Did you have any issues with putting GP5000 on hookless rims? Im concerning about bursting while riding on the bike when I put unapproved tires on hookless rims.
GP5000 is not compatible with hookless rims.
I have been waxing my chains for a year. Recently started using PTFE powder, but the chain keeps dropping in lower (harder) gears or when I start off. Have you had this issue?
Maybe with less ptfe in your mix will work better
Did you inspect the drivetrain for excess wax deposits on the gears, and derailleur? In my case I had trouble shifting the gears properly due to this issue, until I cleaned the excess wax off. Other issue might be the stretched out chain or the casset, which can be checked by a proper tool.
Can i use baby powder instead of ptfe powder since it is hard to get ptfe powder in my place
Baby powder is talcum powder so no. Just use paraffin without PTFE then.

Does pfte make a big difference vs just paraffin?
Hi. I am in the same situation. I have a FSA Gossamer crank and don't want to spend on changing the entire crank so can only go for FSA megatooth chainring. I have a question on the bolts. You mentioned you re-used the the bolts together with the spacers. Can you make a video to show the actual installation with those bolts and spacers? Thank you.
