Thinking outside the box
A lot of us think inside the box. You know have an attack and take rescue meds or go to the E.R. My wife had me try laying down before taking any rescue meds. It seems to help a lot. Probably 70 percent of the time. Thinking outside the box sometimes can be better.

If you see a post or comment saying they can cure Meniere's and every other illness it's a LIE !! These people are scammers !! They prey on desperate people. All they want is your money. I refer to them as Dr.Dingleballs. Yes it's funny but they will steal your money with people believing they can cure them. They can't !! Sorry to say this but. There is no cure for Meniere's. Last four days I had a bad cold. On top of heat, humidity and a low pressure hanging around. All the makings of a Meniere's nightmare. But I stayed calm and let happened and then today everything was better. Claritin helped but has far as rescue meds. I didn't take any. I just rested and relaxed because I know tomorrow is another day.

Yessss !! Hard work does pay off !! Today I did something I haven't been able to do. Either by fear or falling and hurting myself. But working on my balance paid off. It may have taken 5 years but it was so worth it. Reminder only did this because I felt great. I can't do this everyday. I do know my limitations.
Keep Helping each other

Yes keep helping each other. Even though some people constantly post about how there life is miserable keep trying to help them. They do need it most. But don't be surprised if some of them think they are the only one's with Meniere's and snap back at you. Remember we are only humans but some people think we should be perfect.

It's true. I'm only human !! I suffer just like all of you do. But also have other things going on in my personal life and I can't be on Facebook or social media all the time. I'm sure most of you all understand this. Remember I do care about you all and wouldn't be doing this channel if it wasn't for all of you. But remember I am human as well.

The First Year

The first year is toughest for Meniere's or any vestibular disorder. Learning triggers. Doing research. Joining support groups seeking advice. Also seeing horror stories. The thing is we are all different. What works for some may not work for you and what works for you may not work for others. Learn as you go and remember you'll be okay !!
Thinking & Obsessing

This morning I made posts. Which you will see at around 1:30 mark in the video. A lot liked it but a few decided to negative and bash me. I saw a post today and the meaning I got from this post was so true. Live the way you want. Let face facts. We can't tell someone how they should live with Meniere. Good analogy although I have no idea what your fish talk meant 😂 I try not to rely on rescue meds because my doc said the brain will learn to rely on them and recovery could be slower and actually attacks more frequent. Everyone should talk about this with their own doctor but just wanted to put that information out there. Also as you age those rescue meds become more of a problem on an elderly brain.

I experienced vertigo before, which began between the hours of 4 AM and 5 AM. The sensation was quite alarming and disorienting, causing the room to appear as if it were spinning. After waking to use the restroom, I noticed the persistent spinning sensation and found it challenging to walk to the bathroom. Upon returning to my room, I requested that my wife measure my blood pressure, which revealed elevated levels. Consequently, I took my prescribed betahistine and hypertension medication. Fortunately, the vertigo subsided by noon.

That said, my Mom only got 15 minutes with the Rh. A co-worker of mine had a 13 month wait to see a Neurologist, only to have a 2 minute appt, [aka 120 seconds] : ( with him [Dr ] said, ''you should have been referred to a ''general'' Neurologist - not me who Specializes in MS ! - All my co-worker was told by his Family Dr. [13 months before] was that a Ref to a Neurologist had been made for him ... Oh, and had to travel 4 hour ''each way'' for 120 seconds I've personally witnessed a family friend who was diagnosed w/ Cancer, he did get into to be tested / diagnosed Quickly & was told he needed to start ASAP 4 weeks Chemo but they don't do it on the weekends ''&'' when it was a long weekend, he was also told 'there's no chemo treatments ... He was shocked & told us [he replied sarcastically] Oh, ok then, I'll just tell the Cancer cells growing inside me to please STOP b/c u don't work weekends nor Stat Holiday's. I had an MRI, took 6 months to get an Appt, it took 2 months to get the Results : ( so, 8 months total ... That said, I'm still Grateful for the Free Health Care BUT {like u said} they're def. Pros & Cons and Yes, we also have a HUGE Doctor shortage here - so when I hear American yt'brs say - Well, if u don't like that Dr. etc, let them go / walk away & find another - I quietly say to myself. Most GPs don't know much about Meniere's Disease. So a good ENT is important. Your doctor can refer you to an ENT for proper diagnosis. Neurologists are often good with diagnosing and prescribing meds for MD too. Seeing both an ENT and a neuro specialist is beneficial. Often, migraines, brain fog, poor sleep, etc. accompany MD and the neurologist can help with these symptoms. In general, MD is pretty easy to diagnose. The main symptoms are ear fulness, vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, balance issues, fatigue and nausea most often with vomiting. All of which may manifest when you are younger in varying degrees, but will often worsen with age, and eventually present themselves all at once. Which is basically a Meniere's attack, where you are pretty much incapacitated by all the symptoms, especially rotational vertigo, combined with vomiting. Living with MD is far from pleasant, and can severely impact your lifestyle, work, ability to drive safely, recreational activities, and much more. Good luck to anyone with this disease. Do lots of research, and try to eat healthy and exercise when possible. Experiment with supplements and foods to weed out those you react to. People with MD tend to be highly sensitive in various ways. Such as food intolerances and environmental factors. So look into this too. Your suffering may be lessened with good lifestyle changes.
