You should analyze the costumes in the film le cercle rouge 1970 starring Alain delon !!

Problem is so much of Nostromo fashion makes zero sense. The whites are a big problem. With the exceptions of the galley, hypersleep chamber, and MU/TH/UR terminal room, Nostromo is a grimy ship. You can't tell me that Parker and Brett put all that work into the engines and came out wearing white clothes without a smudge on 'em. They're all supposed to spend a very limited time out of suspended animation, so I don't think Nostromo has laundry machines. Now obviously they need the characters to contrast with the black walls so we can see 'em. I think it would've underscored the class themes had Parker and Brett worn charcoal versions of the uniform while the others wore a light gray or beige. After Kane's death, several of the crew are smeared with food and spattered with blood. In the following scenes they're wearing the same clothes, unstained. You know that at some point they had to clean up that horrific mess in the galley. Ain't easy to get blood out of whites. It's logical to assume they had more than one change of clothes standing by, but we certainly should've seen a before and after look. Wardrobe folks are s'posed to keep track of "day 1," "day 2," "day 3" looks. Continuity did a good job following Ash's death, when Parker's uniform is torn and everyone's spattered with milky white android lube, but otherwise they kinda dropped the ball.

Words cannot express how insanely inaccurate this video is. The fact that you missed a Weirdos shirt and couldn't differentiate between guitars and bombs on a belt is genuinely concerning. Something is off.

It’s inaccurate because most 1980s US punks did not wear coloured hair, chokers, chains or blazers. Stevo dresses more like a 1977 UK punk. Bob is slightly more accurate but still looks more European than American. And the whole mohawk-and-studded-jacket is even more inaccurate, since that’s a completely UK look than literally no one in 1980s US sported.

The rel reason why the trousers are skinny is the movie is set in 1988, before rave culture hit the UK.

in late 90’s It’s was baggy with a monster belt loops to support the belts. I don’t recall skinny jeans tell after high school. I remember Seinfeld episode about tight jeans wouldn’t ever try them.

I think the style works because it's not one per se, it's Tyler's one and only, coupled with confidence and boldness he has it just works (let's not lie here, physique is a factor). It's literally the man makes the clothes look good, he could be wearing the worst garbage somehow there would still be something startling in it, think twice to eventually change your mind and that's powerful.

The Moccasins are TAOS, not Minnetonka. Minnetonka's have fringe which Cliff's clearly do not. TAOS have always come sans fringe. Also, Cliff's mocs have a dark brown/black leather lace, which is on point for TAOS. While Min's are a third the cost of TAOS, so more attainable for the average person, they're made overseas wheres TAOS are made in New Mexico, making them a much more likely pick.

Punk isn't what you wear, music you listen to, etc. It's about having the guts to like and believe what you want to regardlesa of being the extreme minority, and damn the consequences. The word "fashion" is the polar opposite of punk. The only punk part was when homegirl called Steve-o out on his bull.
