Double Thumb technique is pretty sweet
Переглядів 6189 місяців тому
This video is a crude introduction to the double thumb technique. I’m not a music teacher, I just happen to know how to kind of do this technique and hopefully my experience will help you learn it also. This is an advanced slap technique. It can be challenging when you first start learning but if you stay consistent it’s so much fun to utilize. Give it a try.
Playing bass with picks is actually pretty sweet
Переглядів 3909 місяців тому
You should absolutely play in whatever way makes you most comfortable. However, playing different types of styles will totally be beneficial for you in the long run. Give it a try sometime, you might find yourself liking it.
Overlooked and Underrated - Ibanez ATK 815
Переглядів 2,3 тис.9 місяців тому
Ibanez ATK’s have been my favorite basses for almost a decade. I’m sure there are a ton of details I forgot to add in this video, but I think I covered the most important bits. If you can get your hands on one I promise it’ll treat you so well. They are perfect. The were actually discontinued back in 2018 SPECS ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/ATK815
Thunderbirds are the best bass guitars ever made
Переглядів 4 тис.10 місяців тому
Epiphone Thunderbird Pro V is a severely underrated bass guitar. This video provides some information about fixing some small quirks that thunderbirds have. Taste in instruments is totally subjective at the end of the day. Play what makes you happy.

I have several Ibanez ATK’s. They are CRIMINALLY underrated!!! They are a Swiss Army knife of bass guitars! I was typing this as you said it lol. I can dial in so many tones on these it’s amazing!

This specific bass had me hesitate a lot. It's very pretty, plays well, unusually slim neck profile... It's the cheap plastic nut that made me reconsider. It's a simple fix, but it should be on the behalf of the company to stop using cheap materials like that, I don't want to fear ending up with a broken nut (grow up...).

I've got a pro IV which our band think is my best sounding bass. Neck dive doesn't trouble me too much but I'm seriously thinking about getting my arm extended. I wonder if the UK NHS would do the operation although the waiting list is so long I might be dead when they can fit me in....anyone want to buy my pro IV?

Just tried an ATK 1200 today that’s in mint condition … it’s got a wide spectrum of sound. Used ones are truly affordable. This is a very high value for money bass. The neck is really nice. Build quality … superb. Why spend so much for a Stingray when this will be at par for a fraction of the price?

A bass with a natural finish, an incredible sustain with a crunchy treble and soft playing. Definitely an underrated piece of art.

Honestly a thunderbird slung low and basically being played vertically is easily one of the most comfortable ways to play bass for me. The best example of this is doomkeeper on UA-cam

I just bought one of these new over the ibanez sr505 and also over the sr2405 which was more than double the price of the yamaha. The neck on this 605 is soo nice and is similar in comparison to the ibanez but actually plays a bit faster to me. Plus the pickups are soo much more usable than the Ibanez imo. The EQ and pickups are very clear and usable all through their range. No gimmick switches either, just passive or actie and an eq. Super happy.

You can’t go wrong with Yamaha. As a guitarist finally buying a bass, I started down the bass rabbit hole. ??? Fender Jazz P… which way do I go???… blah blah blah… Then I remembered. “Yamaha!” And I was like “done!” Yamaha is the premium brand of non premium brands. A Yamaha is like a Martin or Taylor in the sub premium market place. On the high level, it makes sense to get a high end instrument, but as a high level player, I know if there is a good Yamaha guitar on site. If I am at a party and someone hands me a $600 Yamaha acoustic, I can play it on the same level as a 5k Carbon Fiber Emerald. A $600 Fender acoustic sounds like crap. Yamaha they really deliver and make very playable instruments.

I have a Cirrus now, a US model. Another preamp now, 'mørch' and made a switch so it's passiv as well..boom cool bass. By the way it is a 18 volt bass👍🎵

A few weeks ago I finally got my Peavey Cirrus for almost 1k Euros. An Indonesia made (not BXP) Tiger Eye Cirrus 4, a gorgeous bass, also no more in production. According to a review in Guitar&Bass magazine these Indonesia made Cirrus basses are not downgraded instruments, like the BXP series is. It's the same hardware, pickups, preamp and electronics as those USA made basses. It plays like a dream, slapping has never been easier. Really happy to own this bass.

I’ve played Fenders for as long as I can remember and own some fairly high end ones… however, I’ve been eyeballing the TRBX605 for a while now and I feel it’s time to pull the trigger. Good vid, cheers from Ireland ☘️

Right now I play an Ibanez btb pb6. I've loved it since I bought it the preamp was horrible though. Just a junkie bartolini mass-produced thing for ibanez. I wasn't sure if it was the pickups or the preamp but I couldn't replace the pickups because they are an odd measurement. So I started with the preamp. I bought a Delano sonus 2 I think it is and oh my God it changed everything this video is making me think I need to pull the Delano out of this four-string fretless I have and don't use and stick it in that.

I bought one for my daughter for Christmas a few years back used it was her first bass. Got it for $200 at Guitar Center. That thing plays so well and resonates like crazy. Love the basswood body. My only complaint is the preamp system is so hot I can barely turn the volume up
