That’s a great design. I got one too, but I haven’t used it yet! But I’m ready for winter camping! Thanks for the awesome innovation!
Nice job on the video. Hey, I just got my turtle bug hammock stand today. I’m gonna try it out tomorrow and watching the video. Looks like it’s really gonna help me. I’ll take some pictures once I get it set up.
@@stevencichy137 we can’t wait to see your set up!
Mine came in the day after I left for a campout. Once this rain stops I'll set it up for the first time. Can't wait to give it a try.
@@krazy1z we can’t wait to hear how it goes.
@@YOBOgearI set it up for the first time in the house to get it all ready and have decided to make a couple soft shackles to hang the hammock off the hubs. I'm sure I'll find more things to customize as I use it.
Is there anything special that needs to be done to use my AMOK Draumer with the Camper stand?
Nope, no special adjustments are needed for the Amok
Hi this is awesome. I have one concern tho, it looks like rain will hit the tarp ridgeline poles and run down and possibly start soaking the ends of the hammock. Have you tested this in the rain and Is there a water break somewhere that prevents the hammock ends to start soaking up water? Thanks!
@@randalgc the way it is designed. Water will run down the tarp pole and into the cup that the tarp pole plugs into. The back of the cup is open so the water will run out the back and away from the hammock.
@YOBOgear Sounds great. Man not long ago I got the adventure hammock systems vehicle hitch mount but the problem with that is when I get in the hammock the tarp collapses and gets all flappy. Something I didn’t realize or think about till I got one and used it. Your system doesn’t do that plus it can be set up anywhere and not limited to my hitch. Anyways this stand is awesome and will be impossible for me to pass up lol
Just got mine today and took more time to take off the wrapping than to setup lol. Looking forward to taking it out and seeing yall at Hangcon!
@@josephcampos3735 the good thing is you only have to take the wrapping off once! 😁 See ya at HangCon.
Thaaank you do much for this😊
Our pleasure.
Very helpful. I’m going to set it up today
@ let us know how it goes.
Backer #217 here! Just got mine in the mail and am getting ready to set it up for the first time. Love the build quality of this and am very impressed with the pole thickness being what it is yet keeping it relatively light. Thank you so much for your attention to detail and thoughtfulness that went into this design!
Yahoo Dan! Thank you for being a Backer! We are sooooo glad you finally have it in your hands and that you like it.
Setup was wicked easy and it's perfect for what I need (hanging a Haven XL)! Soooooo glad I invested in this stand! Much better than my Freedom Stand which usually works OK, but struggles in areas with thick pine needle layers on the ground (which is a lot of the New England area). Now I don't have to worry about my anchors getting pulled out in the middle of the night! Thank you guys for this great improvement! ❤️
Received mine and hour ago and have it setup! Great instructional video. You guys are awesome! Looking forward to seeing you again at HangCon!
@@Monty439 thank you for ordering! Glad set-up went well. See ya at HC!
Thank you for doing this. Got a little confused for a bit but then figured out you changed up the direction you were laying in the hammock. I was wondering why you were “lowering” the foot end in your example of a “lower head height” Maybe I’m just dyslexic..but looking forward to setting it up
I received the preorder product in Seoul, Korea this afternoon (November 22nd). ❤

3:25 I can’t find the video where is explains in more depth on how to use the top wire in a shorter configuration
Nice video, will you be posting another one when your kit is ready? I believe you mentioned it will work with gathered end hammocks as well. Is that correct?
@@JF-fv6ld yes, it works with gathered end with no adjustments.
Have to get back into camping and your stands seem to be my next move.
Hi Cal, can you provide the exact measurement between the two holes that need to be drilled into each of the dowels for the Ridgerunner? I believe you indicated that they need to match the hammock spreader bars? Also if someone is using wooden dowels instead of arrow tubing for the cross pieces what diameter would you recommend? Thanks for posting this, can’t wait to get my TB and hang my Ridgerunner on it!
Great Calvin! This is exactly what I was needing to hear and see! My Banyan will be meeting a new stand. Now I will be waiting for your adapter add-on kit.
Have you guys started sending this Turtlebug stand out to people ? I see November you advertised to do that.?
@@jeffreydonaldson9757 not quite yet! Within the next couple weeks.
Could this fit two Haven XL hammock tents side by side?
@@MharkelBellacour it does but they touch. To eliminate that issue you can build or buy a spreader bar that holds them further apart. If you search in the Yoboneighborhood on FB I believe I outlined how I did it.
It does not look like there is a way to use a 12 foot hammock and get the head end lower than the foot end...? Is there a way to do so?
@@HamShazam23 no more than a couple inches on flat ground. On uneven ground it would be pretty simple to make head end up to 10” lower.
I'll be doing this sometime soon!
Heck yeah! Soooo excited...
Does this stand work with the haven
yes!
Have you thought about making an extension pole separately for larger hammocks? Id love to try this out but I have 12'. I havent tried an 11 ft. I guess i could 😂. But itd be kinda nice, evem if it was just sold separately. This looks really nice though! And the price point is a bit better for myself. 👍
Nevermind, saw your other video about it lmfao 😂 answers my question. My have to snag one of these!
Super
What is the maximum amount of wind this stand can withhold? Can you guy it out? would love to use this at the beach in Strong wind. Thanks.
I am curious of this as well, my idea being weighing down the hubs between each leg, possibly with my pack?
I assume your questions were more about the tarp actually, but this would help with the overall stability of the platform at least
@@movieman12341 it’s easy to stake the Turtlebug down. There are attachment points on the hubs to allow for this. How much wind it can handle is determined by how good the user is at anchoring. We found in sandy areas it is easiest to use the bag style sand anchors. You simply fill them with sand and attach them to the hub. The most wind I personally have camped in using our stand was approximately 80mph microbursts with 40 mph sustained winds.
@@YOBOgear thank you for the reply! That’s super helpful. I think I will definitely be pre-ordering the stand. Looking forward to using it! just verifying, this will work with blackbird XLC Hammock, most under quilts, and Warbonnet rain fly?
I have to tell you, I was excited when I first heard of the kickstarter for this. Then, crushed when I saw I had missed the deadline by a week or two. I'd go back and read updates on design revisions and materials, etc. Well, excited today because I went to your site and found I could get in on the pre-order. I can't wait!
@@TheZenful1 yahoo thank you for pre-ordering!
So excited to start using mine. I've been trying not to think about the wait. 60 seconds, 90 seconds - that's still super fast. Looks like it packs easier than a tent. - bean

@@GorgoScrobo yeah, we have a Hennessy in our collection! Thank you so much 😊
I woke up surrounded by flooded tents more than once. I always tie my pack to my tree about 2-3 feet off of the ground
Will the Turtlebug be any more stable than the Cricket? I own a Cricket. Really like the Cricket. However, I have discovered that whenever one of my cats or dogs hits the cordage on the corners, I'm usually seconds away from being on my butt on the floor with a Cricket stand on my head. For some reason, my cats and dogs either don't care or are oblivious. Would a Turtlebug be more resistant to late night pet attacks?
@@wisenber there is no cordage on Turtlebug for pets to trip over 😁 Our dog was blind to the Cricket cordage too for some reason.
@@YOBOgear Thanks! The cats even figured out that barreling through at 3 AM was good entertainment. Turtlebug might be better for when I have to take care of my mom.
How long is the setup for the new cricket? 10 minutes, roughly?
