Brilliant fishing mate but please please please stop standing up with the fish, not only is it putting the fish in danger of kicking and you dropping it but it really is sending out the wrong message to any inexperienced anglers watch and then thinking it’s ok and it really isn’t. Again fabulous fishing and well done on the PB.
What you need is a big white van man,but the was one thing you forgot to take with you the kitchen sink lol 👍
😂🤣😂 yep, forgot the kitchen sink! Need plenty of equipment, clothes, food & drink for an over night session 👍
Top job Andy. 😎 thanks for sharing
Cheers mate 👍
Make the most of fishing for these beautiful river creatures, because the way our water companies, or should I say , environmental gangsters, treat our beautiful rivers is a disgrace, to say the least. Pouring untreated sewage on a regular basis is the norm. When some toothless agency takes them to court they pay a pitiful fine which they then pass onto us, the consumer, or should I say gullible public with higher and higher water charges. Meanwhile the water company share holders are paid vast amounts of money in bonuses. So enjoy while you can.
Yes I totally agree with you because the is not one river in UK that isn't polluted, watch Feargal on UA-cam when he does water test from river's in the UK, from river's such as the Trent, Severn and the river why but the list goes on 😮😢👍
What has happen to our rivers is truly awful. I just hope that now it's very much in the public eye, and we have quite a few 'celebrities' on the case that we will see some change/improvement.
That’s privatisation for you. Greedy shareholders come first…..no investment back into the company . Shocking.
U boring twat ! Who the fuck is this video aimed at ! Any angler with a brain wouldn’t watch this any longer than 30 seconds!
That double hook up was perfect timing netted one then boom off again 😂
Yep, like buses, wait hours for a bite then two come along together! 😂👍
Lovely fish. Really liking your vids....👍
Thanks, pleased to hear you enjoy them 👍
17:00 looks like a chub not "a little roach".
Sorry it took a while for me to reply, I had to go back and watch the video....you are right, not sure why I thought it was a roach! Well spotted 👍
Nice fish , shame about the slurping , will have to make sure i turn the sound off next time.
😂😂😯
Nice fish😊
Thank you 👍
Wich Rod you use😊
I use Trefor West 1.75 tc Long Angler rods, they are no longer available 👍
@@DeggersFishing i use free Spirit barbel seeker …👍🏻
Never used them, but hear good things about them 👍
@@DeggersFishing i Ve other One for carp…Harrison torrix full cork👍🏻
do you have a season ticket for this water. if so you know their is no night fishing!!
I have season ticket, and night fishing is allowed.
Hi Andy any chance where is that area or with club ? Day ticket ?
It's Barbel Society water, no day tickets.
You fed the pike lol fished there before nice spot 👌
Yep, poor roach! cheers 👍
Poor Roach😂😂😂 great vid as always Andy 😎
Yep, wasn't that roach's day! Cheers 👍
Great video…..all that shouting must of driven you mad!
Cheers, four blokes with a couple of kids were fishing just above me....they were having fun but were quiet loud!
5:30 proper fishing that, i do same on the PoD Derwent, no matter how cold it gets overnight it's just me sat on me chair and no shelter trying to stick it out until sunrise 🙃
I do prefer a bivvy or brolly shelter but sometimes you just need to go without! 👍
👌🏻
great session, effort equals reward, well done,)
Cheers 👍
What isotopes do you use mate? cheers
Hi, I use Drennan Super Specialist Isotopes, they are expensive, about £25, but last for many years.
@@DeggersFishing cheers mate will have a look at them
What’s your choice of rods reels & preferred test curve when fishing the river soar! Great catch with your second barbel, are at liberty to say what area of the soar u were fishing?
Hi, I use Trefor West Lone Angler 1.75 tc rods (they are no longer available), Shimano GTE 6000B reels and sorry but I'm not disclosing where I was fishing. 👍
Good going mate 💪
Cheers 👍
Hello where about is this i wondered as i have just recovered from a broken ankle/foot but that bank looks easy to get to. Any info would be a help.
Hello mate, what rods are those your using?
@@RichardBurton-v6f The rods are Trefor West Lone Angler 1.75 tc, not made anymore.
Great video, really enjoyed it.
@@leebaker1471 Cheers mate 👍
Enjoyed the vid pal 👍 What part of the 7 was you on?
@@marshallart113 Hi, I was on the Middle Severn, not far below Shrewsbury 👍
@DeggersFishing lol that narrows it down a tad 😆 don't blame you 😜 only asked as I'm after a double peg ... well a peg with room for me an a lill 1 ..
Most fisherman I’ve ever spoke to/met have been complete melts. I semi-understand you not wanting to tell people your *exact* location but to just give the name of the river is basically pointless. If you wanna be coy about your fishing spot then why upload videos online?
@@aydan0161 I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this. I think most anglers would like to know the river, and if it’s the Severn/Trent whether it’s the lower, middle etc, so I don’t see it as pointless. I don’t share the location as local anglers who fish the stretch don’t appreciate it and I don’t have permission from the clubs. I don’t feel not sharing the location takes away from the entertainment.
@@DeggersFishing not gonna argue with you mate, but that’s a complete load of tosh. You’re the same as all the other cagey fisherman I’ve spoke to/met when discussing where/how to fish a location. It’s because of selfish reluctance to share information that these small-time tackle shops are closing down and that the hobby as a whole is dying. Next time, just title the video “River fishing in the UK”… may as well!
@@aydan0161😂😂😂
@@DeggersFishing what a pleb response for a 70+ year old man. You have the charisma of a brick yet have the gall to call your amateurish content ‘entertainment’. I’m 26 years old and it’s a sad state of affairs when you have OAP’s trying to bust out emojis ‘😂😂😂’ in a conversation. Act your age maybe?
Wow @@aydan0161
Well you did better than me when I fished that peg all I got were Bream bites, should have persisted I guess. Have you noticed any pattern as to what state of tide tends to produce the most Barbel ( Flood, Ebb, Top/Bottom of the tide) ?
I tend to find I catch more barbel when the river has some flow on it, when the tide is going out, once it starts backing up as the tide comes in and there is no/little flow, it becomes bream time!
@@DeggersFishing Thank you. I'm still trying to sus. out the tidal. Hopefully getting better every season. 👍
@@yorkyone2143what peg is this… or which stretch of the Trent? (Not trying to poach as I got my own spot but I want to know if it’s truly tidal?)
Great video, we are heading to Spain/Portugal for 3 months after Christmas. What's the situation with licenses/permits? Are they quite easy to come by? Kind regards, Liam
I used a guide, and he sorted permits & a licence. I believe in Spain they have different licences in each area, it's not like the UK where we have one licence for the whole of the country. Good luck and tight lines 👍🎣
Did you take your own gear or rent from your guide?@@DeggersFishing
@@grahammuckalt483 My guide provided the bulky items such as rods, tripod, weighing cradle, chair etc I had to take reels, bite alarms and end tackle (hook length, hooks etc).
Hi Andy me and my brother in law were fishing to the left of you at Normanton on Trent the same day. Both blanked but returning this Thursday. On the Worksop book. Had a lot of barbel there last year
Shame you blanked, good luck on Worksop 🤞🎣
Hope you don’t mind me asking but is that area day ticket or club stretch I come up from Suffolk now and again regards dick
Hi Andy. I fish like you using pva bags and leads. Main reason is the river I fish is extremely snaggy and I can get leads and pva mesh quite cheap. Basically I can afford to lose them. Feeders cost in the region of £2.50-£3.00 a feeder. To buy one and lose one first cast in a snag isn't the best feeling. I've caught more fish using a feeder but the bigger ones seem to come out using bags. Whether the fish spook off the feeder I don't know.
I normally use PVA bags but I do use feeders, just depends on the river and conditions. I've never noticed any real difference regarding fish size versus PVA or feeder. Tight lines 🎣
Well done mate, glad you got the w.avon redemption 👍
Cheers 👍
That 15 was absolutely amazing and gorgeous mate. My best is 12lb 3oz from the Don . I can't imagine almost 3lb on top of that .
Cheers, it was a very good fish, a 12lb fish is still a nice fish 👍
Which bookies do you use mate .. just got a tidal Trent club ticket but first visit was to find alot of the flood bank s bit of a jungle at Sutton !!
I fish the Tidal Trent at Normanton & Sutton, both Barbel Society fishery's 👍
Lovely first barbel 👍 tight lines
Cheers, it was a long time coming! 👍
Good to see you back at it Andy 😎👍
Thanks 👍
I know you said that first stretch was above Shrewsbury, whereabouts and what club. Ta.

Hi mate is that wire fence behind you a otter deterrent
Hi, no it was an electric fence to keep sheep away from the river bank, though is was switched off as the sheep were in the next field.
Your net what’s name of it please. Some great fish you caught there atb Dave 👍😉
Hi, sorry but I'm not sure what make the net was, my guide provided the majority of all the fishing tackle.
Unlucky on that last one. Looked like a great trip.
Really enjoyed the trip but was gutted to lose the fish at the very last minute!!
Love the Metallica opening 🤘🏻
Thanks, I don't like to put too much music in my videos but that felt just right 😉
@DeggersFishing No probs Andy. Yeh, it fitted well. What a fantastic experience though mate. I enjoyed you taking us along with you to Spain. See you at 'The show' on the 9th June 🎣💥👍🏻

Thanks for sharing your trip andy looks good👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
I need to get fising on the continent some day, Would love a massive european barbel, and for those that love Chub, there's the massive Asp that are widespread throughout europe.
I fancied having a go for a Spanish barbel for quite a while, really glad I did it now.....fancy going back again!
Coats and Kegworth best.
Andrew what strength/brand mainline you use with 10lb hooklength?
Hi, I use 15lb mainline, Terry Eustace Pro Gold....not sure if it's still available.
Nice video, the Derwent Barbel was fantastic. And no music. Sometimes I watch videos with the sound off, because of the music.
Hi, the Derwent barbel was a nice one. I know what you mean about too much music. 👍
Gotta be happy with that session well done 👍
