I’m sorry. I’m not sure what this means. We’re heading northbound (NOBO) from Springer. I think all in this video are also going NOBO or flip flopping. I can’t remember. There are some going SOBO, of course!
Mama Bear I have that tent you were asking about on line but I couldn’t comment on it. I’ve had it for 3 years now and have used it a lot on short trips and it will with me when I leave on February 14 from Springer! I love it! It’s expensive and you need to be careful with it but weight is important to me as I am old and small. And I like that it’s double wall and weighs nothing. Bring some dyneema patches with you. Hey!! The Tiger Wall Carbon? Sorry you couldn’t comment. I always hesitate in posting in those groups. You get just about every answer that you didn’t ask for, except for the actual answer! 🤣 I only wanted to hear from those who have the tent, so I’m happy to hear that you do and you love it. Don’t find it delicate like many reviews have suggested? Do you think it’ll hold up to 6 months straight on trail? I love our current Tiger Wall, so I’m hesitant to, but saving 13oz is so tempting!
@ you have to be careful with it as it’s very thin! My friend calls it my Saran Wrap tent but the weight is worth it for me. I’m an elderly hiker so I take my time setting it up. It has gotten a few pin holes but easily repaired with dyneema patches and I reinforced the places where the top pole comes in contact with the fly. It’s pretty transparent especially on full moon nights🙂. I actually broke one of the poles at first but got a replacement from a pole company. I also got a pole that goes across the bottom to make it more free standing especially on tent platforms up north. I prefer a double wall tent. I’ve spent about a total of about 30 nights in it so far but not 6 months. I have Thru hiked in 07 and I was 60 then, and I have section hiked finishing in 21 and oh I’m leaving again this year. My son is hiking with me (actually supporting me) for a few weeks at first. He is also a 2022 Thru hiker! Hope to see you and Bear out there. Signage
