There is a a DAC cross sectional pole that adapts to accommodate the tips of my black diamond distance trekking poles. It makes it super fast and easy to setup; and it is also pretty sturdy with that setup.

I agree with you, their customer service is awesome and they are always quick to respond and follow up with you. That is cool to hear that others have had the same experience as me with their customer service! And yes having a nice compact 10 power binocular is awesome for getting those extra details. I am usually an 8 power guy but I really like these 10s for everyday use! Also having them be small enough and lightweight enough to fit in your pocket is literally awesome! Yeah the whole top half of The bivy is mesh from the waste up so it is breathable. The rest of the tent is made out of a polyester fabric called Pertex quantum.

Yeah, but like any battery when it's cold I always keep in on me and I usually keep an extra battery. The batteries are rechargeable and removable. Do you own this or have you tried it? What has your experience been?

Well I’m first pair was the Summit GTX boots and now I am rocking the Nevada’s! Both are great boots! I got a lot of miles out of my Summits!

I would say buy what ever you can afford and whatever you can get the best deal on! They are all great brands! Unfortunately most of them have been bought out by larger companies. Hopefully their quality doesn’t do down overtime.

Agreed! It is pricey but when you spend 2800 on optics you want to use them, but baby them as much as you can haha. I think they are actually cheaper now than what I paid but they are still expensive!

No I haven’t personally had any issues with condensation yet. The ventilation is really good since the whole front half is mesh on the top and the underside and the rest of the shell is a pertex silpoly material. So it’s better at keeping the moisture out than a silnylon. If I do end up experiencing any issues I’ll add it to this thread. I have slept next to lakes and streams and haven’t had an issues. Do you own this bivy? If so what has your experienced?

Yeah it is! With new kids it’s been harder to travel to different states. I’ve been limited to my home state and local area. But luckily Idaho is like Disneyland for outdoorsman. So much to do and see! However, I can’t wait until my kids are older and I can start adventuring more again with them!

Thanks for leaving a comment and I love the feedback you added. I agree 100 percent it’s great when you want to dirt bag it and bugs are bad. If I was just sleeping in bag or under a tarp, I would have been eaten alive lol. I will say that I recently had a mountain lion encounter in camp followed by a deer hanging out in camp shortly after that night, probably to keep away from the mountain lion. Needless to say, I never felt more like a human burrito than that night. After I got past the mountain lion in camp thing I slept like a baby; besides the deer waking me up every once in a while 😂. But hey I’m still here and it was nice sleeping under the stars.

Anywhere on the Oregon coast with a sheltered bay and sandy beach! That seems to be the easiest way to harvest them. Also check the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife website.

Yeah with the vent open you still get condensation if you are using the tent in colder conditions. If you are a recreational summer hiker or biker it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am also a mouth breather unfortunately so I don't think that helps lol. The condensation is not horrible by any means and there is enough space between the rainfly and the tent mesh that it really doesn't affect the gear inside your tent. I just wanted to bring it up because some people get bent out of shape about condensation.
