Personally don’t have a favorite Jazzmaster I’m more into a parts build. But. That birch green may be the one. Personally I use only the bridge pickup on a Jazzmaster and use the volume to taste. Treble bleed is a must if I do so. Maybe something different in the bridge depending on how I feel in the mix.

Great review I really love both those colours gotta love a jazzmaster. I really don’t use the rhythm cct but to me it’s part of the kookiness of a jazzmaster. But they look great value

I’ve owned one of these and they are great amps, they are super heavy but that’s the on negative. They sound amazing and can do everything. The single channel head and combo are a different thing to the dual ones in my opinion. I had one of the dual channels and it was nice but not this good. The AD15 is also a great combo

Anyone know if these will be a upgrade for classic player jazzmaster pickups from 2016 i think theyre the p90s sounding ones

I was going to buy a jazzmaster but then I donate that money to BLM just to find out that Patrisse the big boss bought a 6$ million mansion in a rich white neighborhood. I was surprised she was so vocal about white people how big of a menace they are just to go and live in the middle of them🤷 In the end no jazzmaster for me 😢

Doing some reasearch cause I've been wanting one of these for a while. Sadly, I can't physically go into a store and play one because no store within almost a thousand miles has one. After reading a good bit of the comments, if you can, go in and play one! Develope your own final opinion on whether you want one. Don't rely on youtubers

Glad I found your channel.. I'm actually trying to decide between a VM or CV Jazzmaster at the moment (and they're both on Reverb).. very helpful information in your video, and wouldn't ya know it.. I am still having a hard time deciding. Both of them are great guitars and look fantastic.. I feel like maybe the neck on the CV might be a better player but the VM is gorgeous.. lol anyway, thank you for the information, much appreciated 👍

Recently got the 2024 Semi Hollow Satin S2 Vela in Tobacco Sunburst. Sounds great and the Pattern Regular neck might be the most comfortable neck I've ever played. It's right there "neck and neck" (pun intended) with the PRS Pattern Thin neck. What's really nice about the Semi Hollow Vela is it's so LIGHT and it actually is pretty loud unplugged for noodling on the couch

That amp sounded like it maybe had a problem. I wouldn't normally characterize solid state as being so rolled off. Maybe it's the JFET design that sounds like that? Anyway, pass for me.

For me I think the Player 2 Teles are cool..maybe swap that bridge out. Otherwise pretty good standard. My issue with these is just the lack of rhythm section. Bit of a bummer the Jaguar and Jazzmaster feel incomplete. But I mean it’s a ok price, quality build and I get they are trying to keep that $799-$899 price tag. For me the white blonde chambered Tele would be a good buy. For a Jazzmaster I’d prob take the next step up to the Vintera 2 series personally. Or even the American Player or a MIJ. For the money being a few hundred different…I feel better investment. The player 2 Teles and Strats seem like a good deal to me. The others, I’d rather spend the extra $250-$300 for the extras at the price point already. Or go used on something else. I see the store demo American 2s, at my Guitar Center for around $1300 right now they are clearing out. Maybe something new is coming with that? Because that’s a pretty decent deal on store demos.

I feel like the ultimate Jaguar, considering some of its issues and to make it more of a companion to the Jazzmaster (and tribute to its biggest surf competitor) would have the following changes: -Increase the scale length to 24.5”, standard Mosrite scale length. -Replace the bridge with a stainless steel zero fret and a brass string guide. -Replace the pickup switches with 3-way Mustang switches and circuitry with the phase options. -Replace the bridge with a Mustang bridge and make the mute standard again. -Replace the Lead Circuit pots with 500K’s. -Replace the pickups with a 14K Mark I single coil in the bridge and a 10.2K Mark V single coil in the neck. -Offer a very narrow replacement neck with speed frets. -Offer 17K ‘59 Joe Maphis single coils and V-II Humbuckers as replacements. The V-II’s should be available in parallel (5K) or series (20K) versions.

It may not be the best, but the Classic Player Jazzmaster has this whole early-2010s nostalgia thing going for it.

I appreciate Nelsen’s no BS I don’t work for GC I can say my thoughts approach to this comparison haha! I def like the player II of the pair sound wise and ya swapping the bridge to a mastery or staytrem would be the usual approach so it’s good they are starting to listen to customers in find ways of addressing that.

That neck pickup on the 'old' Vela is weird - isn't it supposed to have the Type D that looks like a DeArmond? That's what came in my 2018 and 2019 Velas.

I just wish the vintera 2 came in that turquoise with the matching headstock because man that looks lovely too my eyes haha

I just got the 490 Pro Plus to replace my Sony MDR7506 for mixing. I will still use the Sony MDR7506 for recording because of the close back. But for mixing the 490 pro have become my go to. sounds so amazing.

My first thought when I learned about the Player II series was "why?" but now after hearing them side by side there is a pretty big difference in sound. Personally I love the rhythm circuit but I don't judge anyone who wants a streamlined version they can pickup and play.

I really love the style of this - I warmed up pretty recently to PRS style guitars after "not getting them" when I got a cheapish Harley Benton copy, and moreso when they came out with the new afford CE range, but this is definitely closer to the vibe of what I like in guitars :) Vaguely Rickenbacker like!

Player II Pros over Player I: 1. Actual Jazzmaster pickups 2. Rolled fingerboard edges 3. Rosewood fretboards (debatable/subjective) 4. Classic tuners (debatable/subjective) 5. Better Mustang bridge Both models do not have the rhythm circuit which is a shame as it can be used for an instant jazz tone and sounds great as a lead sound with some fuzz or treble boost pedals

The American Pro 2 is a good modern Jazzmaster. The stock old style bridges are made to be used with gauge 11 and 12 strings.
