Do you make the drawer the same length as the slides?
@@geraldlalonde5992 yes
Do a face frame application.
I will make it myself this week I think. Just got instructions from WoodPrix and I'm ready for do it :D
A very helpful video. Thank you for your time.
@FranktheDachshund Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
Awesome technique, some videos really complicate this process, this one is perfect. Thank you!
I have a wood shop where I build and spray paint cabinets in my shop and then take to site for install. What do you use to touchup dried Gallery Series?
@@butchroach239 the gallery itself.
This guy is brlliant! I watched 10 youtubve videos before I found t his one, and failed ten times to retrofit nmy old drawers with slides, this guys method is pure genius and I wish I had seen it first, I never comment on videos but I just had to
I work on my own cars alot and i live in a apartment so everytime i work on my cars i have to bring all my tools down in multiple trips anf its anooying so ima buy the bottom drawer with the wheel and then the 2 drawer boxes (one with 2 trays and one with 3 trays), 3 trays for sockets (¼ ⅜ and ½ sockeds) and then the 2 tray one for stuff like my wrenches pick tools pliers etc and then bottom for everything else i might need/bigger stuff. Wd40, oil, hammers pry bars etc. Planning on buying in black friday sale this year hopefully works for me, also adding the worktop thingy on top
But yeah thank you for showing all those this video was really helpful for me to decide if i wanted this system or not❤
How wide are your aisles? Also, ever have an issues with your PACKOUTs on wheels falling towards the center?
how is the hardness compared to a conversion varnish?
thank you for the diagram, really useful in spacing draws, also will save a ton of money buying jigs, etc. would have like to know slide lengths in relation to draw but your information is very helpful, thank, God bless
I'm surprised there are not more people reviewing this ds carrier. It looks great.
Thank you for your video!
@@FPShkED Thank you for watching!
You you still using Gallery?
@@Rcam123 Occasionally. We're still primarily a solvent base shop, but sometimes there's a reason to use it.
Shoot I thought I came up with the method for setting drawers on my own 15 years ago.😀great video. I do the same.
You say that Milwakee has a similar setup as the DS carrier? As in, if I want the bottom case, I don't need to unstack all boxes, I just take the bottom one out from the holding system?
@costinmarina not like the ds carrier no. The base roller box opens like a large drawer from the front. Then you can stack drawer units on top
@@ChestnutRidgeWorkshop So there is the problem with Milwakee and all other systems (different from Dewalt one). I'm in the process of setting up a van as a mobile workshop, but if necesity arise, to be converted quickly back in a hauling van. So, no bolt on shelves inside, just something that cam be easly taken out. And this DS system checks all boxes. Thanks for the video and the quick reply, man!
Thanks for the insight. I just bought the 3-piece packout set and am fairly happy with it, especially for the value, but the built in bottom box is a bit of a PITA for all the reasons you stated. This seems like something I'll have to consider further.
@christopherevensen4942 Thanks for watching. There's a new bottom roller box coming from milwaukee that makes it one big drawer so you don't have to unstack.
Congratulations nice job good door. Henry, to Arizona
@@henryhurtado2035 thanks for watching
would you still consider building one in a small shop (12ftx13ft)?
@@versus023 for sure
@@ChestnutRidgeWorkshop thank you
Great review. I worked for Dewalt as a Tool Technician for 20 yrs so I am sorta a fan. I have their original mobile tool carrier that all three compartments slide open. I set it up for working on cars and home but it is limited. I have been looking for something else especially if it has drawers. Definitely don't want to have to unstack and your review helped me decide to get the dolly system of Dewalt. Drawers, drawers is the way to go especially for wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. Thanks, great video.
@estellamo So glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
Stay away from gallery guys, when it come to the edge you can cheap it easily
Did not work for me and now it’s stuck and won’t go back the other way at all!

@brianrobbins5480 So glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
How do you know what size to make the wider spacer???
@@jpmorphhilson It depends on the size of each drawer and how you want the fronts to look. See my video on our cabinet design process for lots more info.
In the UK Packout is up to twice the price of toughsystem 2 so that is a massive deal breaker for me, for example the cheapest currently I can get the toughsystem 2 2 drawer box for 80 pounds, the cheapest I can get the Packout 2 drawer for is 150 pounds
@charlesingram9471 Sounds like the packouts are roughly same price as here. The Dewalt however are much cheaper for you. If they were that different for me I'd probably stick with dewalt too
I'm using an HVLP and putting down 4-5 mil with 20% thin. My dry time is around 1 hour. I have an active air scrubber pulling air over the boards, though. I wouldn't trust flipping or sanding until 2+ hours. Love your videos. You show texture, points at time in drying, discuss your process. Thank you.
how do you calculate the spacing between slides?
@@ArchAngel6501 I do that all in the drawing stage before building. See my video on cabinet design.
@@ChestnutRidgeWorkshop Awesome! Thanks.. I will take a look..
I am surprised you didn't go with a Ron Paulk design. Looks like a great start for sure. You are right, you will redesign and remodel it several times over its lifetime. Nice work!
@@russalbright4213 We take all our tools in and out depending on if we're working in the shop or on site. So we go with as many rolling packouts as we can to make the transition fast. Thanks for watching!

Other than the brain rattling music, this was exactly what I was looking for. Great video. ***Updated Comment: Purchased the plans from your website. Excellent presentation, very affordable price. Thank you again.
@rothwegk lol, sorry about that. Glad it was helpful!
When I spray anything. It has a little orange peel on it if the coat is heavy enough. It will look peppery if its to thin. But dries beautifully. I dont like hvlp for latex. I have pro contractor 9.5 with compressor and remote pot. Gallery is probably thin enough to use without thinning. Emerald is not. Ive only sprayed tricorn black, seaworthy( naval) and white, all 20 gloss. Hvlp does Not enough build in one coat and doesnt suit the production standpoint of a custom build residential painter. I roll all my ceilings with crown molding because I tape them to make rolling and cutting in easier. I can have 2 idiots roll a lot of ceiling when taped. Gallery has been great for us. Spray backs in the morning. Spray fronts after lunch. Im getting much better dry times than him. For me it gets super hard. When i chipped some off the wall to texture the drywall it felt like poly. I do a quick thin mist coat on my first coat that has 90% coverage. This allows for a little faster drying and sanding. Also allows me to find hard/difficult spraying positions before I do heavy coat and get a run. I have had fairly decent success sanding gallery in less than an hour and respraying. If you add passive air to the gallery when drying I can do a double coat on the fronts in 30-45 minutes. Basically spray 30 doors and when finished start over again. Especially on deep base and ultra deep colors when 2 coats is necessary.
@LoganShelton-rh3lp wow thanks for all the info! Thank you for watching and sharing!
which needle size. do you use ..i use the preassure pot .. i dont thin it but comes out . orange peel ..
I switched back to dewalt. Dewalt is made in US. Milwaukee PACKOUT is made is Israel. Says on the units. I returned them. I won’t be part of genocide!
I just spent a couple weeks building a dresser and all the drawers are out of wack LOL so here I am looking for ways to keep things square and drawer fronts flush - thanks for your tips!

This is awesome, I'm glad you spent the time making this. Extremely helpful!

When you say it's not as good as a solid 2k system, would a 2K Renner top coat come out much better? (that's my understanding)
@MadLadsAnonymous I've never used Renner specifically, but other 2k systems I've used do perform better yes.
Is there a version of these undermount slides for flush bottom drawers? My existing drawers were apparently homemade with 3/4" pine. The bottoms are some kind of 1/4" boards and only the drawers in an end cabinet have a side wall to attach a side mount slide to. Hard to explain but most of them basically teeter on a center piece of 1" x 3" board. 😂
@Mixdplate not that I'm aware of no. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but thanks for watching!

@@davewilkes9138 So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
It was a great video, and the script was excellent as well. Maybe you could copy the cabinet section and cut it in half. It may be easier without all the other construction lines: the half and front sections. Then, you can cut to the installed drawing set; it should all make sense. It's a great video; please keep using the same format.
@@steven6068 Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.
Welcome to the family
@Theaverageguy-xy3qb Thanks! Great to be here!
I used the Gallery product on a custom made wall cabinet system 20' wide by 16' high. The customer wanted a factory feel to the paint job, but because I was painting this unit piece by piece in his garage he did not want a solvent based product. My local SW store recommended this product and it turned out great! I agree with the dry times, but each new coat will dry faster.
For a client that specifically doesn't want the smelly stuff this is great way to go. I'm glad it worked out!
Thanks for the video I think I am gonna treat myself to one of these lights today since they are sale for 219 and come with a free battery here in Canada . I got the charger box earlier this week for the same deal

Are there bottom mount slides that attach to the bottom of the cabinet?
@@kristineumann1090 I believe you can attach most of them at the bottom. The ones I use have holes there for that.

@alfonsoespinosa8643 That's great to hear! Glad it was helpful, and thanks for watching.
I went with the Klein Tools Modbox. Even though they are the heaviest on the market, it also has the most flushed out add-ons on the market. Milwaukee will get there, but it's going to take time.
@@Ranger7Studios Cool, thanks for sharing. I haven't talked to anyone using those yet. I'll take a look!
Have you tried a smaller tip and cranking down the fluid needle to produce a finer mist? Those looked like thick coats.
@michaelpilliod1039 I have yes. It stays too dry and won't flow out. Plus SW wants 3-5mil wet coats, so you've gotta get a lot on there
@@ChestnutRidgeWorkshop I'm putting on 4-5mil (tested with a card) and it dries quicker than yours.
