ODD OBJECT SQUATLIFT
Переглядів 1167 місяців тому
This movement is incredibly valuable and has a massive transferability to real life. Having the ability to maintain control of a loaded object on the shoulder while also reaching down for a secondary object is probably more common than you realize, so why not train for that? Not only is this movement relatable to the real world, we are also getting tremendous value from the parts of the whole -...

TCS ISB (Inchworm+Spiderman+Bootstrap Squat)
Переглядів 70Рік тому
Here at TCS, we start every class with ISBs - formerly known as Inchworm Spiderman Bootstrap Squats. I got very tired of writing all of that on the whiteboard so I shortened it to ISBs. In any case, this is a highly effective flow that gets athletes ready for, really, any activity. And, as coaches, this ISB flow provides us with a screening or diagnostic tool that shows us what kind of general ...

Never thought of using a kettlebell like that. Thank you, also I subscribed
I put sawdust in my duffel bag.
Can you make me one too, and do you have a Facebook so I can contact you?
Hi buddy from someone who has done a lot of bag work punching the sand a lot with give you bad elbows and shoulders over time . I used to do 10 rounds on the heavy bag and do three minutes per round so you are hitting that bag 30 minutes but my bag had rags inside
I hear you. This isn’t a punching heavy bag. This is a Strongman sandbag used for squats, deadlifts, carries, etc. i definitely wouldn’t want to try and hang this or punch it!
I need that bag🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi. Would be very helpful if you left links to the materials used. I am searching for the 2" metal ring and not finding it.
I got them from Home Depot. Easy enough to find if you have one nearby. Otherwise, I'm sure it's easy to find on Amazon.
Do someone roughly know the size of the bag?
my 2 cents explaining how you put the white bags in the main bag is not annoying, that's the purpose of the video 😅 - thanks for the video
Popped up on my YT recommend👏solid educational
Video request -0- standing shrugs = simple movement,, bend enough for a compound, composite bend more to poly-composite. Then continue to the centre of body return back to yes A compound or Trad. barbell row. Finish with hands at the feet for a SIMPLE movement. Awesome idea! Its nothing not really just your IQ Squared.
Excellent
I plan to make something similar but turn it into a Punching Bag is there any diffrence what i can fill it with or i can use the same?
good idea with the ball!
Holy shit. I was just talking about sand bags and this came into my feed. It's a sign. A sign to go basic and kick ass.
Get after it! Let me know how it goes and/or if I can help in the future.
@@travismholley just started today with macebells and sloshing around pool. (Luck enough to have pool for a few weeks) taking it slow but can't tell your how good it feels. Anyone reading this can do this. My best!
It's a sign Google is spying on you.
I think using things like gravel (smallish stones, pebbles, no sand), rubber mulch or wood pellets would be much cleaner and create a sandbag with a little more bulk for a lower weight. A huge bag filled completely with sand is super heavy. It is also much easier to make, you don't need to worry too much about inner liner bags, leaking and so on.
These are all good points. If you'd like to build a lighter sandbag, rubber mulch is a great way to provide volume without a bunch of added weight. Although, in my experience, the rubber mulch can have sharp points or edges, so the liner bag(s) are still a good step to take for added durability. Thanks for the comment and added info.
How much does this weigh???
How to buy this sea bag.?
Just checkout the video description for links and searchable terms to find the bag you want. A simple google search with have you set up in no time. Good luck.
this bag will hurt you
Do you mean that you can do some very challenging workouts with this bag? If so, you are definitely correct. If, however, you are saying that this form of training will hurt you, I will respectfully disagree. I would say that any form of training - done incorrectly - can hurt you. It's about choosing a weight that meets your needs while not crossing a threshold of quality movement. Let me know what you think.
I can’t seem to find that bag liner which is inside the canvas bag anywhere. Is there a substitution for that? Could I use something else? Or do I even need it if I have a heavy canvas bag? Thank you all!
Really any heavy duty trash bag would probably do the trick. If you go that route, I would do 3 of them to create a stronger liner. Another option would be to buy two of the shells and use one as the liner and the other as the shell. Hell, you could do 3 HD trash bags and two canvas shells. That would be nearly indestructible.
@@travismholley thank you!
How do the handles not eventually come off? Duffle bags aren’t built for throwing?
Jason - I wouldn't recommend using the straps, which is why I suggest either cutting them off or at least taping them down. For this type of bag (heavy Strongman sandbag) you won't us the straps, but instead will pick it up like a stone or keg.
Where do I get the shell from that you started with
Check the description just below the video. I'm pretty sure the original link is expired, but you may check the website out to see what they have these days. Otherwise, a simple google search for "military surplus seabag" will get you started. Good luck!
How heavy can you go with this?
We have one at the gym that weighs 200lbs. Nice thing is that you can always use two sea bags (one larger and one extra large) to double line the thing and add even more structural integrity.
hi, what's the capacity of the bag? Can I find one on amazon, the link in tge description is expired. thanks for the video, very informative
Sorry about the old link. I forget the exact dimensions, but most of these surplus seabags are generally the same. I would suggest going bigger so that you always have the capacity to add more weight if you want later down the road.
Hi, great video, do you have any ideas where I could get one of those green bags (someone who can ship in France), it would also seem appropriate to make a punching bag too (It would be perfect as I could fill it up with old clothes or rag). Thanks
Just checkout the video description for links and searchable terms to find the bag you want. A simple google search with have you set up in no time. Not sure about the punching bag use, but it can definitely handle some solid blows. Good luck.
Got mine by enlisting in the Army in 1975.
Thank you so much! Looks great.

Also thank you so much! Great tutorial!!
Have you ever tried just doing zip ties instead of the ring, ball, zip tie system?
I have. It works…for a while. But then you’ll start to notice sand starts leaking out of the “closure.” You can always just keep adding zip ties, but this method is the best for long term lockdown.
@@travismholley awesome and thanks for the quick reply!!! At home depo right now ;) Starting a gym April 1 and excited to do more functional training! Thanks a ton!
@@travismholley going to try a 1.5 in ring and golf ball ;) . Will report back 🤙
@@JasonLawrenceNoel How did that work out?
Dude you made me feel dumb. I have that bag sitting in storage from my last deployment and I never even thought of using it. As soon as I saw it on your thumbnail for the video I didn't even have to watch the video. Thanks for the thumbnail! Lol
Well you can tell he was never in the military and doesn't know how to clip up a duffel bag
Thanks for your very insightful comment. I'm not quite sure what we would've done if you hadn't shared your wisdom. Our use of this bag is obviously a far cry from its original purpose - thus a different closure system is necessary. But, again, thank you for your comment.
Can’t tell if he is a hater or it’s an r/whoosh scenario. I just made one, hopefully it last longer than the specific bag I bought, lasted three drops.
just have to step out of my home and can find sand, so np for me
Bunnings Warehouse.
Awesome! Thanks for the vid and tips!
What is the same of the shell duffle bag?
The name of the shell? Is that what you’re asking?
i did the same my grandpa an ex army has a bag like that and i was kickking every soft things i see in the house then he came up with an idea then he made me make my own heavy bag just like that lol kinda heavy i putted a soft material around the sand bag so it wouldnt hurt
Wow John Bernthal has really branched out.
I put a bunch of pillows, some old clothes and a 25 lbs weight in the bag and it weighs 50lbs. As I progress I will start adding more weight.
There ya go! Great way to get going!
Sir, what is that bag (the green one) made out of, that you used for making the sandbag? Is it nylon? Polyester? Or a mix of them? I'm from India and I don't id find the bag just in any store so wanted to know the specific material it's made out of. Basically what material should the bag be of to ENDURE ALL THE POUNDING of huge weight?
I think it's just a canvas seabag. Check the link in the description to see if the producer lists material. You should be able to order it from them or any other military surplus retailer.
Bro did you get it. I couldn't find strong man sandbag online in India.
@@prasanth4740 No bro. Couldn't get good quality
@@bhanupratapsihag1154 any alternative option.
The material is nylon Cordura.
What is the name of the fabric use navy greenbag sir ?
I think it's just a canvas seabag. Check the link in the description to see if the producer lists material.
I think it's simply just a heavy duty canvas or cordura.
Great tutorial, thank you.
Perfect use for my old sea bag! Thanks for the idea.

Hey man love the vid! could the sandbag survive being thrown over the shoulder tho? i am trying to make a sturdy one myself and need to know what the do's and don'ts.
For sure! We are pretty rough with ours and have had 0 break.
Do you recommend the demo bags over the heavy duty trash bags you used in your earlier video?
I think I prefer the demo bags. They seem to be more durable and when you do a double it really seems solid and won't need replacing anytime soon.
How heavy is the bag?
It's around 160-170lbs.
AMERICANS? Doing it on their own? LOL! Ha ha ha!
How do you hang it?
I’m not sure what you’re asking...
@@travismholley Maybe he thinks its meant as a heavy bag for boxing.
