what choke and size choke
I run a Carlsons prairie storm choke tube. My first barrel is the early season and my second barrel is the late season.
That's some drought you're having. Normally, you're hunting in snowdrifts at this time of year.
Yeah, we’ve hardly had any snow.
Where are your dogs from?
Grouse point kennels in rice lake Wisconsin.
@ thank you!
Gsp pointers all the way
It’s always the hens!! I still love when it happens tho lol
I have a lab but she will point during training just never had her on a wild bird yet cause we don't have em here
Sounds like you will have the best of both worlds.
I’m new to your channel, boy are your dogs well trained! How old are Klaus and Nix?
Klaus is 7.5 and Nyx just turned 3. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Klaus is a machine. Has he been studded out? If so, how has his pups turned out?
Yes he has and his pups have been looking good. My dad has one and he is turning out real nice.
Man, do I like seeing Klaus doing Kaus things. Tracking is so important on these wild birds. Love it! Nix isn't bad either.
Thanks!
Klaus is incredible!
Thanks!
Last bird of 2024, hopefully it's also last time we see that bird costing junk double swinging around on screen.😅 Make it your 2025 goal!! You can do it.....👍
lol I will try my best.
Unreal dog work
Thanks!
Always a pleasure to watch Klaus work!
Klaus is a special dog. Thanks for watching!
Did you do the training jw. He's a awesome dog hats off to you
Yes, I worked for a pro trainer the first 3 years of his life so that helped a lot. Thanks for watching!
@cjroutdoors4138 he's not a GSP is he. He's one of those dogs you get once in a lifetime
@jeffdavidson3605 yes, he is a GSP.
wow epic recovery/ retrieves, Klaus never ceases to entertain and amaze, you have really been Blessed with a special little man there bro, keep the vids coming
Will do, thanks for watching!
A pleasure watching your dogs work.
Thanks!
Sure like the way youhave trained ur dogs - lot less verbal and more of the dogs just doin what theyre sposed to do - well done
Thanks!
You have a amazing short hair. That always makes the hunt.
Thanks!
Great dog. I would love to do something like this. Do you ever take anyone with you
I haven’t but it might not be a bad idea.
I’ve never seen someone “reset” the dog after each flush like that. It intrigues me very much and instantly gave me an appreciation for dog work on display.
I think “reset” is the perfect word to describe it. I think it helps them slow down and start thinking after an exciting flush. I think it helps the dog stay in better tune with the handler and reinforces the team aspect of the hunt. Thanks for watching!
Good video.
Thanks!
What setup do you use for dog tracking?
I use a garmin pro 550plus with a garmin instinct watch. Thanks for watching!
Always love seeing Clause work. What a machine. Wife gave me a GP13 for Christmas. Can I ask what settings you use on your GoPro.
I would just look up a UA-cam video on how to setup a GoPro. Once I get mine set I don’t change it much.
its hard to believe your hunting sd, because the wind isnt blowing 50mph and you actually seen a rooster on public ground. we call them unicorns
Haha public definitely makes it more of a hunt, but if you stick at it you can usually get your birds.
Klausinator the retrieving machine, Thats a very special dog. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Nice Set of spurs on that first one
Thanks for watching!
Great video, Klaus is a retrieving machine.....sorry if i spelled his name wrong.....has he been a stud dog for any females....
Yes, I will be breeding him to Nyx this spring.
Those'll be incredible. These 2 sure are. Good job!
Thanks!
Big C**k county
Junk double costing birds......some you just can't reach. 😂😂
Haha I had a feeling you would say something like that.
@cjroutdoors4138 , your feeling was right. 🤣🤣
Phenomenal dogs to be hunting with them!
Thanks!
That was superb dog work, holy hell.
Thanks!
Pointer 💪
For pheasants and the type of cover I hunt, flushers all day long! However, I’ve spent some time behind some great pointers. And they’re incredible dogs.
Flushers are tough to beat in the cattails.
That's pretty impressive. I have no interest in having my dog that far away though. My biggest joy in pheasant hunting is working very closely with my dog, as in together in close proximity. I much prefer a flusher, but obviously pointers can hunt pheasants. I happen to think that for much of my hunting, a flusher has an advantage. A "big runnin" pointer doesn't interest me at all.
There is a style for everyone, that is the great thing about bird hunting. Thanks for watching!
There’s a time and place for both!
You’re not wrong. Thanks for watching!
