In the anime, he takes the shot, then even before we can see the damages, he starts to talk then just disappear. There is no impact like the slow and silent (besides the bell) dezoom on his head nor the loud metallic crumbles. Jaldabaoth's just like "Oh, okay" and disappear in seconds. Never underestimate the efficiency of timing and sound effects

I was so shook after this in my original playthrough of this I reached this part at like 1 AM and had to work at 6 so immediately after he got shot I had no choice but to go to bed and couldn’t even continue till after my 8 hour shift so I was fixated on it all day 😅
