Guy with the black shirt has a better swing
What does this accomplish? Genuinely asking.
@@Badbreathbill it’s in the title. Improving hip IR. Using Pails/Rails (progressive and regressive isometric loading) to create more space in the hip capsule. Actual mobility training.
Keep up the good work aj, been following you for a while and and thank you for making it so easy to understand such a complex hitting stile
@@Daballer-rf3mg thank you boss!
Hey Coach would you by chance know any batting coaches training your method in the Los Angeles area
@@stevelafleur1164 unfortunately I do not! But we will be hosting free clinics soon. Check out the link in description for more info.
I can make the swing when practice, but when it comes to the real hitting, I will have trouble on my shoulders 😅
May I share your videos on bilibili ? I will mark the original address of your videos, thank you
What are your thoughts on what places like 108 teach on rotation? Love the new video format also!
@@cr5744 I’m not a big fan of bashing other companies. I think it only makes the person bashing look bad. But tbh, what we teach and believe in is polar opposites of what they teach. So do with that info what you will.
When I swing how your teaching I always stay to back and pull out how can I fix that?
How do you prevent “hip slip”. Having trouble feeling like shoulders and hips stay stacked thru the swing. Leading me to feel the inside pitch is impossible to hit
Do it till you can or till can theres no giving up keep working brother
Awesome video! Would it be possible to make a video covering the process of acquiring a facility space? Thanks!
💯💯💯💯
Ummm it takes a lot more muscle to properly rerack the weights on the stand when lifting heavy.
What in the flying f*** does that have to do with a concentric focused lift😂
Very few people understand the conjugate method and the importance of accessory lifts!
@optimalpowerperformance calm down now lil roid rager. Just commenting on what I see. If this is some "trendy" new get big quick scheme, I'm unaware of it. Just stating these straps allow u to just let the weight go after ur set. Instead of having to use muscle to steady it back on the rack.
Bro needs to breathe. Holding all his power in
Yup looks like everyone is stealing the old mans hitting instructions. Everyone blasted that dude but when judge and a few others show results in power snd ur avg
@@adredsox79 I didn’t blast Rich. Found in 2017 for my own career. Then started implementing with my clients. We are by far the longest tenured HLP guys out here. Me and Rich collab on content and I also host and present at his clinics for him. 👋
@ i def wasnt implying u blasted him but alot of other swing coached said his style and teaching was set up to fail basically. Im a man and can say i was wrong if u developed the same kinda style. There is nothing wrong about using similar swing techniques. As long as u teach them diff. My point was alot of people ragged and said his style is bad. Yet now everyone wants to use him or implement his style
@ i hear you. But I don’t think it matters if people teach the same or different. Most coaches just want to do what works for their athletes. Others try to do what works for social media. Considering our company doesn’t need social media to survive, I would say we are doing it for the right reasons.
Preach on, brother💪
My 11 yo son, now three years deep into the HLP, was at travel practice the other day and neglecting the tilt. His coach was saying your rolling over; which was true. He walked up to me after practice and said , "I forgot how to hit". Fortunately, I was watching him hit and suspected he was missing this connectedness. Also fortunately, I watch all of your stuff and showed him this explanation to back up my observation on why he was rolling over. We have amazing coaches for our travel team but he really needs me to keep his HLP in tact. We would be loosing so much confidence if we didn't have your content. Thank you! I don't try and talk about the HLP with the coaches because I know they would be talking about such corrections it they followed the HLP. Nevertheless, my son gets put 4th in the lineup without fail and his coaches know something good usually happens when he's up. If things keep going this well, and the explosive hits keep getting noticed, I would love to share more with the coaches and tell them to watch your stuff.
@@mailyoder thank u awesome story
i think mobility is also just as important bc i dont think i can do anything i saw u doing in the video
@@pe_w 99% of that has nothing to do with more mobility. It is important. But no where near as important as raising your physical abilities.
The reason people don't agree with this is women. In jiujitsu people pretend strength doesn't matter as much as technique to pander to women. But equality is a lie.
Real and true

snap & tilt!
Am I the only one that notices that this guy always set the tee up waist high when he’s demonstrating the HLP technique? pitchers locate to all parts of the strike zone. Can you demonstrate how it works on pitches located throughout the strike zone? Pitches aren’t always served up like that.
@@theswingman2hit LMAO. I absolutely love how you come to every video to make a comment about where the tee is set up. Your ignorance just shows itself in every comment 😂
@@optimalpowerperformance if the technique is as good as you claim it’ll be, it shouldn’t be a problem to demonstrate how a hitter can cover all quadrants of the strike zone.
@ 😂😂
@@optimalpowerperformanceHLP appears to be a technique for T ballers, set the tee where you have the best chance of succeeding.
@ 😂 i literally hit the machine in the video man. i post a million swings, drills etc on our pages. I'm sure you can find the answer you're looking for. but no, i will not entertain you by taking your video request lol.
HLP teaches leaning backwards?
@@lilt504 of course it doesn’t. But you can have your own narrative
This is so good!
@@wheel4premium thank you!
AJ, as a 78yo slow pitch player extremely passionate regarding all things hitting wise, I appreciate the clarity and thoroughness with which you present the components of the HLP; and I commend you for the emphasis you place on weight training in your program. In addition, it appears that you have High Level business acumen. Wishing you continued success this coming year and beyond.
This comment means a lot to our team! Thank you for taking the time to post!
I like this style of video, you're amazing and happy new year.
Appreciate you! Happy New Year!
Aj is Amazing. Happy New year :) 2025 I will train the hardest.
Great content AJ. One of the best youtube instructors around.
Thanks man! Glad you're enjoying it!
I've been watching your channel for a while. Really like your new format. I'm guessing lots of coaches watch your content. The "why" is helpful.
Appreciate it, I’m glad you’re enjoying the new format!
This was amazing I loved watching this style of video
Good because we enjoy making it!
Happy holidays AJ, love this channel… also, do you have to join the players program when you join opp, or Is it optional??
The players network is completely optional, however that is the only place we will offer free clinics too!
I don’t know if there is already a vid on this or not, but if not would it be possible for you to make a video surrounding how to create a good long term training program (specifically for hitting). To be clear, I’m not trying to ask for something similar to the programs you sell (I don’t want to sound like I’m asking for a complete freebie), but I think it would be interesting to learn a little bit more on how you structure your training. Thank you and love the videos!
Agreed, I’d love something like that.
We are always looking for content ideas. We give everything away for free anyways so no worries. We will get working on this soon.
im way to early
My coach told me to stop putting all the weight on my back leg because I’m spinning off and need to finish more forward. (Sorry it’s kinda hard to explain.) I just don’t know what to say in a nice way to tell him that I need to stay on my back leg
Velocity is great yes but let the kids learn mechanics before they destroy their arms. The velocity will progress as they grow and develop.
This was a great explanation AJ, thank you.
We talkin 81 as a junior/senior or 85. My 15 yr old freshman throws 80 and is about to start spring season. So i figure in 2 yrs he'll be at 87, senior yr 92. So start doing a pitch design next year?
I threw 70 in 9th grade and never played baseball. Do you fellas
To the OPP guys - have you ever seen the Rip Grip Pro (goes on top bat hand; goes on index and middle fingers)? This little batting tool is supposed to release the middle, and index fingers from the bat and help with palm up palm down in the swing. All this being said, do you think this tool complements the HLP approach?
Preach - there is a new swell of dads using small school coach quotes to say velo isn't important anymore. Complete nonsense.
❤ right right
Great
Great video!
Cold As Ice
👍
3-1 change piece followed by a 3-2 slider? Pitchers are SO WEIRD STOP IT 😂😭
❤
I strongly believe HLP is the way for my success, and right now I am at driveline summer ball youth program and I dislike my hitting coach and their philosophy but this is great way to deal with them. Thank you
Touch scene buddy. Keep chasing it! Our youth program is on the way.
@ Thanks, also one question, next year im planning to train at OPP in Washington, do they teach the swing?
@ currently we are s&c only out there. We can’t say for sure what will happen in the future. Besides the fact that we will hold clinics often!
No everyone is accepting this I like it thanks you for showing this to whom want to learn the hlp
@@aydentaveras appreciate it!
