Saving A 1985 F250 6.9 IDI 4X4
Truck is a gem. A mint 1985 F250 extendo cab, 4 speed, 4 wheel drive, diesel. Video did not turn out too good I had problems with my SD card for camera. I had a walk around and check out intro but lost it. I made due with my pocket computer.
She has sat for 5 years we had it very easy because brakes work and clutch felt good. The old gal just needs a good bath, cleaning, some tinkering and she will be a awesome truck again.
Thanks for watching!

Looks like an 84 to me .

4 click?
I have 3 of the Bullnose F250 4x4's I gotta get off my tail and figure out the wiring nightmare on my IDI so I finally get power to my taillights. I also have a '90 Bricknose Supercrew 4x4 460 5 speed and a '94 Aeronose that was a 351 Windsor 5 speed rig. I want to build that one as a flatbed/flatbed camper overlanding rig with a front coil spring conversion on the Dana 50TTB. I'm putting a '69 block 300I6 in my first '82 F250 with the NP435 and the an Aussiespeed 4V intake and the heavy duty exhaust manifold, Duraspark II distributor and oil pan and pickup to match the truck. Can't beat the Bullnose trucks.
NO NO NO do not use heater hose instead of vacuum hose. Heater hose will not stand up to fuel. As the vacuum hose is connected to the intake manifold there will be some fuel vapors on occasion. ALSO you need a good vacuum hose that will not collapse when the vacuum is in it for prolonged periods. This system is not like brakes today. When you lose em you lose all 4 wheels at the same time. Remember heater hose is designed to take pressure from the inside. Vacuum must do just the opposite. I'm sure you know but a check valve in the vacuum line as close to the manifold as possible will help keep gas fumes out of that line. Otherwise Great Job! love to see these older rigs rolling on the road.
Did you sell this truck
Hey bud what do you have to say about the RC lift? I’m looking at the 2.5” with rear leafs for my 93. Kinda on a budget but If I could get first hand experience on it that would be great.
The RC will get the job done just fine! If your a weekend warrior or crusing dirt roads or moderate trails RC is great for that. Some people really hate RC but for their kits are affordable and have performed great for me.
@PappProductions Wow thanks for the fast reply. I’m building a camping rig for my family and I’d love to hit some moderate trails. I seriously appreciate your input.
Awesome! Good luck on your project!
Need to learn how to change gears. Ain’t no shift pattern I ever seen
How's the soft top holding up to UV?
Looks like an great time on the trail ! Got my 94 bronco ready for some good times
Where is an update video?!
Those front leafs will beat you to death
Now this is my kind of ambiance. Old bullnoses and rain on the shop is my “happy place”
You can save her, Im fixing up my 250 6.9... sadly up in the north its gonna be a lot of rust repair over the next few years.
Oh nice! I got a driver side floor pan im putting in this dually now. Rust repair business is no fun! Good luck on your ole F250!
we gotta save these trucks man, especially looking at the absolute state of modern trash @@PappProductions
What is that knocking sound, misfire? Good to see a nice video of one of these running, I have one myself.
That knocking sound sounds to me like an exhaust valve guide is going bad. If you crack open the injectors one by one you will find the culprit cylinder. I screwed up the motor in my ‘83 by not listening to someone that told me exactly what it was and it dropped the exhaust valve over time. Idk if the motor is ruined yet or not but I do have another one to put into it and will be paying very close attention to things like this from now on.
I need that sun visor in my life.
Sweet truck
Thank u!
What keeps rubbing? Cool truck,
5spd is a 4 spd low hole,no OD,and i would the rear ratio to be somewhere around 488 or stiffer
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I’ve seen several of these over the years. Tried to buy both of them. Didn’t have room for them anyway at that time. The old N Fords were quite cool, beefy, roomy & stylish. So you took the bed off the 1st thing. It did make a nice glorified pickup. Hey, either way, you can make such a nice driver out of it. I’m glad that it’s in such nice shape. Get a feel for the truck, what it needs to fulfill its purpose & then go gung ho. Maybe add a second bumper below & then road lights. This truck has so much potential. Enjoy this truck! Blessings my friend. 🤩🥰✌️
Thanks Brother
What’s the color on this thing man? Absolutely sick! 👍
Im not sure its one of those dead grey colors hopefully the ford one lol but could be toyota color i know they offer a dead grey color too. I bought it already painted just put wheels, tires, lift, soft top, and exhaust on it
Beautiful truck! Love bullnose Fords. I also got a 84 but mines a 460 4spd and 4x4. SRW.
Hec yeah sounds like a fun truck! The ole 4x4 bullnoses are hard to find and are the coolest
they make extensions for them
What is the color called? Love this truck!
God damn it sounds so good.
Where did u get the replacement I tried to find where u posted or said where u got it but I can’t find it I’m needing one for my international dump truck
I've wanted one of these for awhile now, how much did you get it for? I'm also in Georgia so I'm curious what a general price would be.
What gears do you run in diff?
Thanks for recording and posting this, also thanks for posting where you found a replacement booster! I've got a 1975 ford F600 that was a uhaul special in one of its past lives that I'm putting back into service and even tho my brakes worked I still insisted we replace everything in the brake system before I go barrelling down the road with 18,998lbs of stuff.
No problem! I dont blame you for going through the brake system. Your truck is going to be real fun putting it to work!
Fue magnífico freno pero con el tiempo se agota 💪💪💪💪👏🇨🇴🇨🇴Colombia
Pretty sure there’s a 66 n in my hometown in Minnesota . It’s a Tow truck . Believe it was bought new by the Gentleman’s Father . Been in a shed for some years now .
No way thats too cool!
@@PappProductions , I’m sure it won’t go cheap , when and if it goes . Knowing the Gentleman, I would imagine it will be in his “estate “ sale . Was a beautiful little rig , probably still with original paint .
@@darrelljohnson5764 they look cool set up as a tow truck rig too dang!
Awesome video! Keep those Farmall videos coming!
Wow. What a find.🥰
Looks sweet can’t wait to tow my Datsun down from PA with mine
That will be a fun haul! Put the ole cb on 19 and roll
We have owners 2 up until the ‘80s, great work horse’s, Uhaul used the industrial 330 cu in engine in a lot of there f350 and above trucks through the 70’s and 80’ if you are looking for engine parts ,like heads ,in the future
It needs a power stroke diesel swapped in
How did that truck do pulling the tractor????????
It did well enough for me. Very slow but very fun! It definitely does not hold up to modern towing standards. If u live in a flat area she would tow really well. Where I live there is alot of stop and go and hills so it struggles. It has 4.10 rear and and 4 speed so i can go 60mph toped out lol
@Kodiak that's good 👍 I'll be honest with you my 95 gmc jimmy I have ever since I first got it in 2015 it hasn't had anything pull behind it yet.
@@jordanperry3126 u got to hook somthing up to it lol see how she does!
@@PappProductions I will after I get him outta the shop
@@jordanperry3126 right on! Hope it goes well for u!
Shift pattern must be different
Love that tractor!!
Thank you I love it too!
Take me for a drive now!
Hey lets go!
I"d love to find a n series like that. My dad pulled mobile homes in the early 70's with a n600 i believe it sportted a 360 or 390 and it would blow mufflers off split them open. odd ball shift pattern 5 speed.
hec yeah thats too cool Charles! the old FE engines would pull all day!
Does yours top out at like 45-50 mph? Mine is slow as can be! Will pull God awful amounts of weight but not quick.
Yes lol i can only go 55 and also slow as molasses but so fun
@Kodiak OK cool! Thanks for the reply. It's a great ranch truck, tough as nails and actually does well going up and down snowy roads!
@@hook86 roger that, I would love to drive this thing in the snow!
Love the Truck bro, I have been working on the Big red that ya sold me, bout to put the secondary fuel tank back in her after fixing a ton of leaks haha
Fantastic dude im glad you enjoying it!
That's a beautiful truck brother
Thank u sir! I want to do some more videos on it
I happen to be one of them kodiak i never owned a 6.9 diesel but seeing how great they are i want 1 so i can work on it drive it and use it have a great evening brother.
Awesome! If u find one buy it you wont regret it they are so fun to work on and drive!
@@PappProductions to be truthful these days I'd rather have something like this these new trucks cost more than a mobile home does.
@@jordanperry3126 dang strait I have a newer pick up but i dont ever drive it. The old ones are way more fun to drive

@Kodiak I have a 1995 gmc jimmy needs some tlc and a 2007 dodge nitro which belonged to my late grandmother and both of them are amazing even better with no monthly payments and when I find a 6.9 diesel I'll make a video so you can see it.
I have one also ....not those switches ...have a diagram or point to point?
All u need is a switch and one hot wire going to to the high idle solenoid
Sweet…. Go off road and then drive home on the hwy. Broncooooooooo!
A unloaded gun is useless 😂
put one on my f600-1969, went thru whole system, still weak brakes. i hear the vaccum booster vent on startup, it stops sucking when i press brake pedal. have a strong- hard pedal with weak brakes.??????
Truck beds look so goofy on those lmfao
The probe connectors are compatible and are actually a good upgrade.
Roger that! Didnt know thanks!
