Cheap ways to make bike lighter

There are many ways to make your bike lighter but in this video I am focusing on small and cheap modifications. Separately they may look funny and insignificant but altogether they may make an essential difference. More importantly these changes won’t ruin your pocket and are safe. I don’t recommend buying expensive, ultra-light carbon components because in many cases they are not practical. Fo...

Yes he probably was the best, and doping in a peloton of dopers made it a fair enough fight. But the trail of lies, destruction and ruin he left in his wake from hiding his activities and covering his ass is inexcusable. So yeah - greatest cyclist but also the biggest piece of shit ever.

The Key to all this excuse ''Eveyone was doping" Is who is advising you on the doping?-- How much ..when to use, what combos? This... and how you individually respond is key as you hinted..but another HUGE component is having a entire system devoted to your doping/winning ...decreasing the stress etc...LA had all this in spades..no way was it equal play ground...also Floyd Landis was physically way more talented than Lance ....He is one guy who if all was equal would have had a chance at winning a TDF with a good team

Lance got me into cycling back in 1999 , for that i will always be grateful , it has given me tremendous pleasure cycling London to Paris charity events and keeping me from becoming a couch potato . When he set up the Livestrong charity raising awareness of cancer , it raised awareness all over the globe and gave people hope , my father was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer was given a 12% chance of survival and survived another 10 years , he was an avid cyclist and followed lance , and regularly had medicals something i don't think he would have done had it not been for Livestrong . When you look at the cards life dealt lance , being dropped by Cofidis and having a low percentage of surviving testicular cancer , then coming back fighting to not only compete professionally but to win a single tour , was mind blowing , when every other person in the peloton was also doping . You cant take his ability and drive .away , wether you admired him or loathed him , he was a spectacular cyclist . Great memories of riding up ventoux with pantani , or racing Jan Ulrich . You would be glued to the TV. Should he have lost those titles ..........No chance that was an era when EPO was the norm , How far back would you have to go to exclude riders who never doped ? for me he lived by his morals " you were either in team lance " or off the reservation , I have no time for "grasses" or whistle-blowers , the fact that he actively used his survival of cancer to raise awareness and give hope to millions of others out weighs his doping offences IMO

Anyone who thinks that someone can win the TDF without PEDs is delusional or just naive. I lived in France for several decades and got to know the lead motorcycle rider who led the TDF from Anquetil to Armstrong. He was good friends with Merckx, Bobet, Hinault, Anquetil, Fignon, Indurain, Armstrong, Lemond and the other top riders. What some people love to do is point fingers and scapegoat others unjustly and what my friend reiterated was something everyone who knows cycling should know. Riders have always been using PEDs. At the get-togethers nobody hid the fact that it was a given for the peloton. Water bottles before and after the war had a tube running along the side in which they put the PEDs, called a 'dopette'. To win the any of the 3 major races - TDF, Giro, Vuelta, with all of the grueling mountain stages with a 'normal' physical recuperative ability is impossible without some "help". All of those greats I mentioned and the others did what everyone else was doing and still does. Merckx admitted it publicly as did Bjarne Riis... and Anquetil was 'outed' in the press as well but they never had any of their TDF titles taken away. An American dominating the most famouiis cycling race in the world more than any of the French and European greats ruffled too many feathers. It's not about the quality of the cheating or how well executed it was... they all did PEDs and nobody should be singled out or scapegoated like Armstrong - it was a grave injustice to the greatest TDF competitor in history. The lies that are being spread are evil and very inaccurate - those who need to blame someone for a sport which is rife with PEDs, attacked Lance mercilessly. It was pure hypocrisy... one can't pretend the truth away via a lynch mob mentality. David Walsh made a career out of Armstrong bashing. I confronted him on his bias and also for not mentioning that all of the riders are doing it... and then asked him why Eddy Merckx and Bjarne Riis kept their TDF championships even though they tested positive for PEDs... ditto for many other riders with the exception of Lance. You can choose to be a part of the abject ignorance and blind hate or opt for justice... be careful when pointing a finger at someone - it will always come back to you and your own biases and prejudices. Once I accepted that they all took PEDs to achieve the super-human feats of endurance that those 3 week tours require it became a non-issue. The TDF, Giro and Vuelta are like running 3 solid weeks of marathons over many of the steepest climbs imaginable. These races are wars of attrition - they cannot possibly recuperate and be in the kind of form required for 3 weeks without doping. Their careers, reputation and income depends on it. Wakey wakey !

I was a supporter of Lance until the interview when he was asked " have you ever used performance enhancing drugs?" His answer: " I have never tested positive ". Immediately I knew he was dirty. It's one thing to cheat individually, but when you demand systematic doping from all of your teammates and silence and complicity from the directors of your professional cycling team, in my opinion that puts you at the bottom of the scum's barrel. As a corollary to his athletic prowess, remember his VO2 max was 85, several other riders in his era had a higher number. Greg's was 91 !! So, on any day, flat, hilly or HC mountains little lance without enhancers would have been minced meat, period !! The excuse that many others were " juiced " as well, doesn't justify the deed.

  • @lazyrider6918

Bottom line, if you were a "TRUE" cycling fan as I was watching Lemone, Indurain, Cippolini etc prior to Lance's wins, then you knew what was up. It was all the bandwagon cycling fans that couldn't understand and got so offended when Lance admitted to doping. Lance is guilty of being an A$$HOLE and a douchebag, but he was the best of his era at the TDF. If it weren't for his ego and he'd stayed retired, he would still be revered.
