My guy do you seriously not know the defenetion of fascism??? The guy rejected the Legion which follows the text book teachings of Mussolinis manifestos on fascism. Though he believes in nations so far he believes that every one needs to understand the ideas there following with him actively being disgusted at the whole "the people are the state and the state is the people" and actively despises Cultural oblitarion in exchange for total conformity the very basis Fascism at it's very core is built of which is something Ulysses, a tribal who has had bad experiences with civilisation would never be down for. Cultural oblitarion and the stripping away of his tribes identy is litraly the first ever thing about the Legion that caused him to be disillusioned because other wise he wouldnt be obsessed with History and recording as many ideas and stories for him to even fit within that criteria. Which brings me to a nother statement of fascism Ulysses actively vehemently rejects, which is the destruction of any and all "poisones" material and writing which goes against the establishment of "super state" and the one goal all citizens of said state should strive for, which is the basis fascism is built upon. A.K.A book burnings because you don't agree with who wrote it. As this is something Ulysses would recoil at, as the idea of preserving any and all ideas and history is legit everything Ulysses main ideology is built upon. As he believes all echose and writings of ancient voices should be preserved so that way free men can find there own symbols and make it there own while giving knew meaning. It's why he was so easy to speech check in order to get to step down and realize how much of a crack pot schitzo he was being. Which is a nother thing about the guy as Ulysses is a fanatical believe in individuality and free choice to such unhealthy levels, the guy found a way to blame a mail man for accedently nuking the Devide for the Crime of not being considerate of there choices by not looking in his clients packages and just doing his job. Which is a nother thing that goes against fascist redaric where individuals don't matter and how you are forever a slave to the State A.K.A a core tenant of the Legion Ulysses craps all over. It's the most basic qualificational and focus tree you have to meet to even be given the label and Ulysses didn't even sighn of on the very first 2. Ulysses has shown to actively reject that entire notion that fascism is built upon due to how radically individualistic he bases his entire world view on. If anything Ulysses is a liberal extremest as the guy would low key join up with Antifa, and doesn't lean any where close to the right and if anything the guy would seat on the opposite far end of the stick. As your basicly imprinting modern politics that has flipped over in the decades to q character that belongs in his own political definition of his own. As Ulysses is basicly unholy cocktail trinity of senator arms strong and Eren Yeager, a synthesis of the most crack pot ideologies fuiled by trauma. As all ideologies are inherently tied towards the Cultural Norms that led to there proliferation, and a tradition to better ground said ideology in order to give it shape and how to best follow through it and impliment it. Voting for ypur party can be classified as a tradition as your following the fundamentals that enable your ideology to better function. It's like calling a Najvaho fascist because they still identify themselves with there old traditions or an American fascist because they see voting as a requirement they can never miss out on which could also be classified with tradition. Hell communists and socialists are straight up state orientated and believe that in order for the revolution to work everyone needs to be part of the Revolution or in the socialists case believe that everything should be monitored by the state. It's not just fascism that is state orientated as that's litraly every ideology that's system oriented I shouldn't even be saying what's essentially common sense that everyone should know! Hell democracy is state orientated for gods sake as everyone is required to vote for the Democratic political foundation's to function! I read Mein Kamph for my college literature class and Mussolinis book on the doctrine of fascism for my 9 grade History presentation, to know Ulysses doesn't tick of a single boxe and Ulysses would feel way more right at home with Antifa than any other group. Sorry for the long Rent but this is the second comment that lumped Ulysses with fascism, and as someone who wrote a political theses for me college tenure. Seeing the worst misrepresentation outlook on politics and some how go "he da fascist" honestly proves just how cooked society is TBH as we managed to twist "things I don't agree with" to "he a fascist" to the point the term had been so deluded it essentially gives actual fascist a shield they can hide behind and a knew supporter base to chose from for people who arnt familiar with the actual mechanics of fascism to end up falling in to its trap. It's basicly 1984 news speak with how twisted the term is. And though I agree the narrator is off when it comes to Ulysses politics as his more of a blanck slate on the mechanics of his ideology. Just even the bare bones surface level of his ideology leans no where near fascism like at all... "He choses which nation does and doesn't deserve to exist" so the Americans who toppled multiple south American governments because they don't align with there idea of democracy? The Soviet Union who forcibly tried to expand there communists sphere of expansion in order to spread there revolution? The multiple Christian crusaders and Islamic jihadists who chose which religion deserves to live and die? Litraly every single country that passively agrasivly hate each other and who think the world would be better of if they were the sole super power? Come on nations that chose which one should or should not exist is a dime in a dozen with Americans today who believe that our ideals and freedoms such as human right's are inalable and how every human deserves them. Which I 100% agree with but not every nation agrees with this even of there immoral which can only be achieved by either abdominaly strangling the nation till the people take it down from the inside or we invade. Again I would 100 percent agree with the notion if we all could collectively decided to take down dictatorships but that can only be done by choosing which nations would live and die and regardless of the descions people would still suffer. My point is your essentially drawing up different broad political stand in virtually every single person unless there a borderline pacifist that doesn't care or are toxic centrists would hold. And your essentially drawing from those borders and dumping a guy who would be on the exact opposite of that political and calling him fascist Again I don't like Ulysses because I don't agree with some of his stance but come Tf on.

A lot of "Fallout Fans" fail to understand Ulysses is a tribal, that's why all the hate towards him is solely directef the way he speaks. It's why he speaks so long because even though his intelligent he isn't educated thus why he talks For so long as his trying to explain different concepts but doesn't know the right simple terminology to use as he had to forcibly learn English from the Legion who valued the recollection and long detailed break down of information in order to keep there subordinates on there toes at all times and disciplined. Thus why when he raises his voice you can hear it crack and a slight accent crop up when you agrivate him. Not to mention when you talk to him you notice he always stops mid sentence between his words, and sometimes even parroting a couple of the Couriers own dialogue when you speak to him so that we better understand what his getting at. Not to mention his tribe were likely oral traditionalist where the conveying of long detailed information was essential for there history and culture to be passed, hance why he doesn't write and only communicates via holo tapes. And due to the Cultural differences his essentially obligated to go into more detail in order to explain his points but not really knowing the right words for the simple terminologies. It's less to do with him purposely trying to be edgy (for the most part at least) and more so to do with the fact it's just how he talks. It's kind of a nother point that makes up Ulysses character as his Culture is long dead and decimated to the point we wouldn't know this simple fact. For me as a character he had potential and was damhe near the best character i have ever read about. But he would have worked better if he was inducted and part of the base game as it would allow for better pacing of his dilouge as it's less of the fact he speaks to much and more saw to do with the fact so much of his dilouge is crunched up in such long bursts due to time reason. Though I can understand the hate sometimes I feel like people are dunking on him for the wrong reasons all because Bethesda didn't bother to give obsidian time to better induct most of there cut content in to the base game. And I honestly love Ulysses and he would have worked better if lonesome road was given more content in the form of extra quests and at the very least a couple pf character's who manged to survive the devidem. Plus making the DLC slightly longer to get us more antiquated with Ulysses. And though him blaming the Courier is half assed at best,I wouldn't call losing your entire potential home in nuclear fire and forcing yourself to crawl back out with broken ankles and likely suffering a brain hemridge as "Over reacting".

I agree with your point of him being in no position to call out the Courier when he has done just as bad, my brother in Christ were mail men not forces of nature I don't know you! And I do somewhat agree with you on Ulysses interms of how he pushes the blame on us. But I just wanted to make my point that despite this, he isn't some edgy Ahh drone who talks to much and wants kill everyone for the sake of it all (for the most part at least). And I feel like not a lot of people appreciate Ulysses for leaving the leagion as this is a big thing to do that not a lot of people appreciate about him as mind you this guy grew up under a religious Cult of personality and how he was taught from a young age to forever worship, gas up and juggle Caesers balls after watching his entire world be burned by Vulpes and replaced with a new one. And despite the heavy brain washing when he was exposed to new ideas instead of doubling down and fighting back against those ideas like most Legion drones, He went out of his way and defied was was essentially the will of his God which is expressed in his Holotapes on how he found it hard to even conceive the notion of going against the Legion despite hating them on account of that being the only life he had ever known. And despit all that went out to learn new perspectives and actively find alternatives better than the Legion and fight against them it's why the Devide matters to him so much despite never living a day there aside just passing through. And when you put it from that persepective you genuinely begin to sympathise with him as his essentially a dark reflection of Joshua Graham if he never got a chance at redemption because Ulysses is exetly what Joshua would have become if Zion got nuked before he even got a chance to change his life and truly leave his scuffed past behind and be better. A massage on how broken people need a second chance and a reason to keep going, Joshua had the bible and Zion and Ulysses had the memory of his tribe and the Devide. But what happens if you take that second chance away from them? And Joshua graham when we measure both there Crimes has done way, way worse and if anything he created Ulysses with him likely being the first person Ulysses reported back to after the discovery of Hoover Dam. With him acknowledgeding Ulysses was the one who sent the white legs when he first meets the Courier when he sais *"Not the Courier I was expecting but I suppose he wouldn't have come with a Caravan"* . And yet Joshua doesn't actively hold it against him or blames him for helping the white legs as he ackwndeges he was just following Caesers Will just like him as Courtesy of both of them being former legion Soldiers and if it wasn't Ulysses Caeser would have just sent a nother one of his goons like Vulpes to do the job. Again I agree with you on Ulysses being a bad person but I just wanted to point out his capacity to change by hearing out the Courier and his quest for redemption and genuine guilt for helping the Legion until that motivation to be better than those slavers it was all snuffed out. And how he could have been a better person if anybody actually gave him a chance to do just that. And honestly when I met Ulysses for the first time I killed him out of annoyance as this man blamed me for something I had nothing to do with and u was skipping through his dialogue so fast all I wanted to do was take him out and steal Old glory and his old world flag duster. But on my Second playthrough after bothering to listen to his holo tapes I Genuinely began to ball my eyes out as it's almost like the universe actively went out of its way to screw him over for the crime of just existing with his speech to the think tank solidifying him as one of my favorite fallout goats to have ever existed. And I still killed him regardless and barried him just so I could put him out of his misery as my guy lived a hard life and him punishing him self by sniping marked men on a ledge till he eventually ran out of bullets was a wake up call telling me I needed to give him peace. He might have deserved having his penance and getting torn apart by the Devide on account he wanted to make his problems every onece problem and cause a second nuclear Haulocost. But he had been punished enough and deserved his rest, something Joshua would have done if he saw Ulysses now and what he would have become if he was never given a second chance him self.

To be fair with the help of vulpes Joshua did help orginize the genocide of Ulysses tribe and 82 others, with most of them being thrown at baulder city before it blew up so... If anything Joshua created Ulysses...
