A severe winter storm is coming through for the next 48 hours. I am in increased symptoms: dizziness, numbness or on right side of face and around eyes and the rare headache. I took a Benadryl to hopefully settle it a bit. My question is, do I still do VRT during this ‘event’ or take a bit of time to rest? And can you tell me if I do the field trip to a store or restaurant (as suggested by my doctor), doing some gaze exercises; is this considered a VRT session? My therapist said to do the exercises 3xs / day. It seems that I don’t have time for anything else- not enough hours in the day for 3 VRTs, exercise, field trip, cooking/cleaning etc. thank you for any advice you can offer. ❤

There is no biomarker for this and we have little to no understanding of etiology … to say that it is definitively permanent is not scientifically proven. Indeed there are multiple success stories where people have made complete recoveries .. now it may be that these aren’t really vestibular migraine but more psychogenic but as we have no clear biomarkers for vm you can’t possibly prove that these people weren’t suffering from vm…. This is biological biasing of the very worst kind since it will wholly unnecessarily put a lot of fear into people’s minds and divert some people who would benefit from a biopsychosocial approach from that path to their disbenefit … you should be ashamed of yourself

Betahistine is not an antihistamine. It's a strong H3R antagonist and mild H1R agonist, which increases histamine, so basically the opposite of an antihistamine

How long do the vertigo last? I have seen my Dr who diagnosed me with BPPV. The next day, I was at a Physio who treated me including doing the manouvers. According to the Dr and physio, mine is from the right ear. I get attacks whe I lay down and turn to the right. It was so intense one specific day that I could barely walk with no help and puked twice. Since my last visit at Physio 5 days ago, I still have these. How long do they last? Why doesn't it go away after the treatment?

I solved my PPPD 100%. PPPD is caused by eating disorders (especially keto fad diets), low sodium diets, when we have anxiety, we don’t eat, we don’t eat, we automatically have anxiety and low confidence, low confidence and starvation = panic. Panic = adrenaline, adrenaline = dizzy. Low carb and low calories and low salt diets also make you trigger dizzy that then gets spiraled out of control due to panic and adrenaline. Stop the panic cycle, the medical literature LIED and said it’s not curable, that’s the exact LIE that CAUSED my fear of PPPD as a self fulfilling prophecy. Occam’s razor says the simple answers are correct, in this case, it’s very simple. Not correct/sufficient nutrition plus FEAR from false information about PPPD. Anytime you have anxiety, FORCE FEED and watch it remove anxiety like a Xanax. Once you notice did helping, your confidence will build. Next, get on your social calendar because depression causes brain fog (which feels like dizziness). Eliminate the eating disorders, get off your couches and attack life, KNOW it heals, IGNORE the dizzy and challenge it, it will disappear faster than you can imagine. It’s NOT a physical disorder, it’s purely mental and physiological. Food heals, everyone starving themselves these days with low carb low calories popping pills instead of eating proper natural foods and healthy carbs to be skinny. I promise you, eat more when you have anxiety and watch it disappear

Lamictal helps with vestibular migraine. I took one dose and my dizziness went away though it did trigger a hypomanic episode. I ate a whole bag of pistachios and went to sleep and woke up with shells all over the place. I think dosage is key though maybe a lower dose is just as effective without the negative effects

Hi! My name is Camille Pagán from Puerto Rico. On October 2nd, 2023, I started having tinnitus on both ears nonstop. Now on October 11th of this year 2024, I started having what I now think is nonstop vestibular migraines. An MRI of the brain and neck was performed 10 days ago, and I have a small enhancing lesion in the left internal (intracanalicular) auditory canal (measures 1.4cm in width and 5mm in diameter) compatible with a small vestibular schwannoma. This vestibular migraines are impacting my life in so many ways (already had to leave my job and I have a 1 year old baby I am taking care of.) I am desperate to feel well. Do you think the vestibular migraines could have been triggered by the schwannoma? Please, I need help!

I have been diagnosed with vestibular migraine after 6 months of mostly chronic lightheadedness, walking on a trampoline, feeling of disequilibrium and just general dizziness. Also some feelings of “disassociation” which I probably hate the most. I haven’t started on any medication just yet. Sometimes I have good days (rarely maybe a good week) where I feel mostly fine but most days there are at least some symptoms. One weird symptom I often find is that il be feeling fine then il walk into someone’s house or a shop and as soon as I walk through the door, immediately feel like the floor has totally moved or I’m unsteady. Whereas a few seconds before I was fine. Does anyone else experience this strange and immediate sensation when walking into a building? It’s horrible!

The problem I'm having with the whole Mindset component here, is that it can be used to invalidate someone's not responding to your treatment approach; as in, "It didn't work for you? Oh, that's because you don't have the right mindset." It just doesn't sound falsifiable, scientific. Are there any studies or data suggesting that one's Mindset is a key component to their successful recovery from PPPD/VM? I'd love to learn more about it. I guess I'm just skeptical. I've been gaslit and misled too many times. I was even born into a cult, for crying out loud. So, yeah, I need hard data, evidence, that a given treatment approach works before I commit.
