Ilvermorny House Sorting on Pottermore!!
There are flat water bottles that I like to use with that style of side pockets!
Awesome review thank you
You are an outstanding reviewer!
Thanks for the review and mentioning the straps. I've been looking at this bag for a month now and can't decide to get it or not because the straps look so beefy. With the new update of this bag they also now include a sternum strap which seem overkill. Do you think it will hold a DSLR with lens if I toss it in the main compartment?
It could but it would be a tight fit. I wouldn’t. Since the bottom of the bag isn’t flat (it’s curved) it would be a funky fit. My biggest issue with this bag was the shoulder straps. it seemed like overkill.
The smart lady not hauling around a laptop, I carry a tablet with Bluetooth keyboard, smaller and lighter. Kindle app on tablet.
Ugh this bag is discontinued
Very nice backpack ! I saw on it's the Kelly's ! I really want this & underseat personal luggage !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Nice video!
'it doesn't fit much'. Subjective but really grateful for this review. I generally find most of the 'small' EDCs are too tall/big for my small frame and don't consider that not everyone carries around their laptop/tablet. Small, light, aesthetically pleasing backpacks are for me more like handbags (because I hate handbags) - for my ILC camera, wallet, umbrella and water. The mini topo canvas seems to hit the spot. Though that cyclo sling looks pretty cool...
Thanks for this video! I was looking for a review on this bag when I came across your video. I watched it a few times before I bought the bag. You also inspired me to 'make it mine' and do some modifications to it. So I made two extra zipper pockets on the inside and lengthened the keys strap. Love this bag. I've been using it for the last month and it's been great!
Great review!!
Thank you!
BEST REVIEW! Makes for some great ideas..... For those of you who ultralight backpackers who like to do 3-4 day hikes all over the USA and use a no-frills cheapo airline like Spirit, this is your bag! Method: 1) Obviously your hike pack is smaller, a frameless 18 - 25 L, weighing at 1 lb or less. Pack your base gear into it minus the mandatory food, water, optional stakes (I use a OR Helium bivy, no stakes required), hiking poles (some can do without) and simple knife (TSA anyone?). 2) Pack an extra set of a clean shirt, underwear, socks for your return flight. You nay need to use some light travel shoes, since the hiking ones may get really dirty. Use the same pants you departed with. I also leave a small chromebook and power block plus some other toiletries. This is a great reason for this bag, plus it protects your ready to go hiking bag as well. Additionally, there are no hiking bags that have this requisite dimension, that is, they are only as tall but not as wide and as deep, so the argument you are about to make about buying just a hiking bag this size, replacing the return clothing/shoes/toiletries/laptop with the food bag, and not needing the Underseat Pro will not work....ok? 3) When you get to your flight destination, will you rent a car to drive to your hiking place? Have someone else take you? If so, first drive or get to whichever Walmart is closest to, on your way to your hiking destination. There you can stock yourself with your 2 mandatory Smart Water bottles (1L - 1.5L), create a food kit from the food bars, "flattened" hawaiian rolls, peanut butter and trail mixes, to the canned beans and the salmon/tuna pouches, maybe even buy cooking fuel too. Hiking poles cost about $20 a pair (much cheaper than a one way Spirit Carry-On charge), steel tent stakes (.78 ea) and the requisite Ozark Trail 3.1" Pocket Knife at $2.97. You can also stock on a travel size toothpaste and wipes. I like to get the rolls prepped up by first flattening them, then using the knife to cut them sideways and slobbering some peanut butter. Pack them up in some sandwich bags. I also buy a 32 oz Gatorade bottle to be used as breakfast hydration prior to the hike and may use it afterward as a pee bottle if it will be really cold. 4) Since you will need a shower and maybe some rest after your hike before you depart, may I suggest you leave the Underseat Pro at this location (motel, hostel, acquaintance) right before you depart for your hike (if you don't rent a car)? 5) Finally after your hike, you may want to leave, the poles at the hiking entrance with a "free" sign, at the ranger station or at the hiking hostel. Someone else will appreciate and use them, believe me. You may be able to do the same with the steel stakes. I don't believe you can do anything else with the $2.97 knife but throw it away (liability, laws, judges, lawyers, JAIL!) in the garbage, well hidden into it. There are many decent ultraligh hiking packs, but you may be able to do with a variety of companies and packs such as Gossamer Gear (Minimalist 19 Day Pack at $69, Loris 25 Day Pack at $130) to Waymark's Mile 28L ($150). UL Hikers also use 1 lb inflatable sleeping pads. I use the OR Helium Bivy mentioned above, a bombproof 1 lb shelter. Finally, a 20 degree quilt will make sure you are at least 3 season ready, if not 4 in some cases (as in the Southeastern States).
Excellent review! 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
This was such a great review!!!
Thank you so much!
How tall are you? I can't figure out if I should try the Daily or the Thirteen.
I’m 5,2. If your looking for a minimal carry I would go with the Thirteen. If your looking for a bag for work or school my recommendation would be the Daily.
@@NaturallyNerdy Cool, yeah... 5'4"-ish here, so was trying to figure out if the Daily would dwarf my frame. Got rid of my Evergoods CPL 24 (fave pack) because it just looked too large for me.
I know that feeling all too well. I was using the 19L Brown Buffalo (Tokyo) Conceal for a few weeks but decided it wasn’t for me for the same reason. My favorite commuter EDCs are the Minaal Daily and the GoRuck Radio…both are short/wide packs that fit my frame better then a pack with a long and narrow build.
@@NaturallyNerdy High five for the the Minaal Daily! Def one of my faves. I haven't tried the GR Radio, but have a 15L GR Bullet that I adore. And neither have tried the Brown Buffalo (that's holy grail status there) because for some weird reason their 19L looks like 30L, lol. You might like the Fjallraven Raven 20L if you like casual packs. It's more organization, but it's pretty perfect for my frame, and I like organization when I'm in the mood for that. Cheers - Keep up with the great reviews!
Awesome video. The connection of these two bags is so hard to find on UA-cam, and the reason I will be buying these. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! And enjoy your bags!!
Great review. I saw this pack at the DEN airport and sat on it for a bit. Found the desert mars color for half off on their site a bit later. Looking forward to using it.
It’s a useful little pack when you wanna carry lite. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for that great review! I just ordered the rover mini in mud colour in canvas. Also ordered the mini duffle and the mini quick pack. I’m hoping to find a way to connect them to the rover even though they don’t have the D rings like the bigger pack has.
THANKS!! You might be able to connect them to the top and bottom loops of the mini. Let me know how it works!
What’s your favorite travel bag?
My favorite travel bag is hands down the Nomatic 30L travel bag. It’s small enough to use as a personal item but big enough for extended travel. (Plus I love the added organization)
@@NaturallyNerdy THANKS
No problem!
Appreciate this video. Just got back from a week long trip using the Peak Design Everyday Zip 15L and my shoulders are bruised up, especially near the top of my armpits where the metal buckles on the straps were digging into me. I'm not sure if it's because the Peak Design straps are too short, I'm on the heavier side, or a combination of both. Have you experienced any discomfort with the straps on the Able Carry 13? It's nice to see they have a 14 day trial period so I just might go for it.
I hope you enjoyed your trip! No, I’ve never felt any discomfort with the Able Carry. The shoulder straps are well padded. Since the inside of the bag is tight it’s also harder to over pack the bag so it’s never weighed me down. If I’m honest my favorite set of shoulder straps are on the Minaal Daily Carry. I’ve been using it as my commuter bag since working back in the office and it’s always a comfortable carry.
Does it have a way to harness it onto the extended handles of a rolling bag? (so as to sit it on top of the other bag, rather than carry it separately)
Yes! There is a luggage pass threw on the back of the bag!
You meant a trolley sleeve !? It does . Like the channel owner said ! I saw it on another channel.👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
thanks for a very thorough review!
I've been waiting for this bag for months and it hasn't been available so purchased the Take Off Luggage personal item on wheels and it now fits Frontier Airlines too! It worked great for me! 🙂
Our apologies, we’ve been experiencing supply chain issues. The backpack is available now in a new line made out of 70% recycled cotton and 30% rPET (recycled plastic bottles) They come in grey and purple. Hope you’re still willing to give our backpack a try!
@@underseat_pro Hi there! Unfortunately, I have back pain issues so I cannot use the backpack, which is why the wheeled personal item is so important. I wish I could tho. 😊
Another great review. I don't understand why Tom Bihn made the tablet sleeve the way tey did either.
I don’t either…it’s the biggest issue I have with the bag.
Great video! You're the fist reviewer that actually packed tech that made it useful to me. And now that I have seen your video I'm sold on Topo. I have a couple of their packs but not these two. Great job!!
Thank you!!
May I ask if this version is in X50 or VX21 material?
I believe this is the Xv51. I’ve had this bag for almost 2 years (about 18/19ish months)
What is the size of the iPad?
It’s a 11in Pro
@@NaturallyNerdy thank you beautiful
10 liter!!!
Yup! It’s small. I consider this a purse like or purse replacement style backpack.
3:40 32 liter bottle, huge if true :)
The water bottle pocket fits…my Nalgene, Hydro flask, and Klean bottles…all 32oz
If I'll get this bag ,I'll put my water bottle & umbrella in there !! 💜
Hows this bag doing 2yrs later after this vid?
Very well! I use it as my commuter bag when going into the office. And on occasion as a grocery bag. Structurally the bag is fully intact I’ve never had a issue with the zippers or shoulder straps
@@NaturallyNerdy sounds awesome! It looked great in the video. So what was it's daily proposes replaced with? Did you go down or up in size?
@@PanaMaJwaaRd I used the Radio as a EDC/ weekend bag originally (pre Covid). I went down in size…My daily bags are now 10 to 15 liters.
@@NaturallyNerdy that's funny, I originally also used that size for edc(recycled firefighter24), but have also downsized to around 10-12L. Well, if you are interested in possibly letting it go, i may be interested in buying it from you, see what this radio is about🤷🏻♂️.
Loved this, thought I'd recommend a good travel carry-on bag you can consider on your future travels. It's the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. It's the best, hope you'll check it out!
Thank you for the recommendation. Unfortunately, I’m not the biggest fan of traditional duffle bags.
Great enjoyable review. I subscribed too :-) The bag seems no longer available on amazon but really well designed I think you might have missed the laptop compartiment since it s called 17.5 afterball (probably for laptop size) I have bought a cabinzero military 28 &44L That i still have to put to the test but they have nice 10 YKK zipper Édit : you might have a slightly different model, on amazon the pictures do show à dedicated padded laptop compartiment
Hello Joe! You are right, the current model does have a dedicated laptop compartment. We listened to our customers and did some upgrades. Thank you!
@@underseat_pro That s really good to hear. Thank you guys!
Great review! Love your mod! Does the bag’s external fabric material attract dust / lint easily? At the back panel where it touches your back, is the fabric there rough or smooth? Thanks so much.
Thank you! The material on both sides are soft and smooth. The fabric doesn’t really attract dust.
I've been considering this bag and this video was super helpful to me! Thank you so much 🥰
Your Welcome! It’s a great bag!
Great review 👏.
Thank you so much!
ρɾσɱσʂɱ
I just saw the bag was unavailable on Amazon, do you know if anything comparable? Really liked that it could either be used as a backpack or on the shoulder bag plus that pocket that you could put the backpack straps in 😍, loved it so much. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel.
Thank you!!! I ended up returning that bag. It was great in concept but it was annoying in use…. The Peak Gear Travel backpack is my favorite “affordable packable bag” It’s on Amazon….it basically had all the same features of the tote bag but is made from better materials.
I'm so excited about that packable backpack.
You covered things that no one else did, thanks for taking the time to make this video. I found it helpful : )
Thank you! That really means a lot!!!
I have this bag in green and love it.
It’s such a fun little bag!
I am curious for a review of the YNOT Deploy; how it compares to the Kånken? I noticed the YNOT seemed to have no padding on its straps?
Right, the deploys straps are made from seatbelt material. It’s meant to be a minimal light weight carry as a packable backpack. (It honestly has some of the best construction for that bag category)
Love this bag! I contacted the company and they are planning a smaller size to fit stricter airlines underseat size limits, includes many European and Asian, some US airlines. But I am very hopeful... I think it would be a bag I could use for many many years. I love so many of the features. Good point re the zip size! Great review and happy travels! Best, Lynne
A thank you!!! A smaller version would be great! Maybe around 19 to 21 liters. It would be small enough to double as a daily carry bag.
Hello Lynne! Thanks for contacting us, we just wanted to confirm that we are still working on bringing smaller backpacks to the market. Follow us on instagram for updates! And thank you Naturally Nerdy for spreading the word about our backpaks!
@@underseat_pro doing that now!
Good!! thank you
Loved this video! Its so great to see this toiletry bag filled with girls products. :)
Very thorough. No water bottle holder for this pack which is odd. Thx..
That’s one of the downsides. I would use a carabiner and attach my water bottle to the top handle
Great vid
Thank you
Great review. You sewed the extra pockets yourself? Hoooowwwww?! Would love to add extra pockets/luggage sleeve to my backpacks too
Thank you, yes I did! I took the pockets from an old purse I had. I then cut a thin line in the lining of the backpack…I placed the pocket inside the lining and stitched the lining of the backpack and the zipper from the pocket together. It really was a game changer!!
I would call it a "Padded handle sleeve" Thank you for such a detailed review! I own an underseat pro backpack myself and I love it, it is so roomy and well built.
Yes! Padded handle sleeve slipped my mind when I was recording.
Just bought due to this review. Thank you!
Thats great! I hope you enjoy it!!
