Great stuff Mick. I've watched a lot of camper conversion vids and I like this the best.... Maybe because I intend to do the same for a bike/camper van, or maybe because you are a fellow CRF rider... Either way good stuff, keep it up !
Hi, I just purchased one for my Himalayan 450 but I'm still waiting for the gps mount to arrive. I wanto to ask you what connection method did you use? The Himalayan 450 have a usb-c port exposed on the handle bars. Do you connected directly to the battery, if so can you please share the method or the connector used ? Thanks a lot!
Hi. I used the waterproof connecter, wired directly the battery The cable comes with the carpuride kit. You can use the USB on the Himalayan, but it rains a lot in the UK so I wanted something waterproof. You can still disconnect it and remove the system easily. I will try and find a photo of the connector. Cheers Mick.
@ thanks a lot!
The idea is that the kit comes with the battery cable but at the end there is only 2 wires red and black. I don’t know if connecting this directly to the battery + and - without any protection is a good idea.
@ yes just two wires. Black and red. The red (live) is protected with an inline fuse , so perfectly safe.
@ in this case I will make the connection directly, thanks a lot!
Im in the US. What is "green lane"?
Hi. A green lane is a legal road that is not often used by the public. It’s usually farm track or a fire road. Sometimes it’s a very tricky section, like an old Roman road that has not been maintained for many years. Basically they are legal roads we can use are bikes that are challenging. Cheers Mick.
@RAD_RIDERS_UK thank you Mick. I bet there are beautiful places to explore in the UK.
@ your welcome mate. We have some beautiful places here in the uk. you have the amazing landscapes and vast amounts of country to explore in the US. Ride safe 👍
Excellent accent!
Many thanks 👍

Great vid .good job Mick . Like what ur doing with your van man .. 😂
Cheers Mate. It’s coming on now Just the dark nights stopping play.
stop man you're gonna put us vehicle converters out of business lol
Hey if I could afford it, I’d get you to do it. Then I could enjoy my free time riding motorcycles.
I have a deposit on one. I hope it arrives in the US by April / May time frame. I want it soon enough to get it modded up for my riding season, which usually starts about late May.
I’m well jealous. You lucky man. Cheers Mick.
G'day from Australia, Great ride of respect and a fantastic turn out on such a wet day, hope all where safe, cheers, Neil 🤠.
G,day mate. Yes it was a fantastic turn out, even though the weather was awful. All home safe and well. Cheers Mick.
Brilliant can’t think of anything better just brilliant power To you all respect
Thank you for adding your kind comments. Really appreciate it. Cheers Mick
Quickshifter will be available
That’s great news. Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice bike, bat, after 24 years from the first model we get more weight and less power, the graphics and color are a disaster, the sixth gear is missing, I hope the rear spring is stronger than on the old model.
I’m definitely with you on the 6 speed. I did expect more weight due to all the rider and electric aids. Sometimes we just want simple.
Would you mind including the link to the bulb. Thanks
Hi The link is www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155440957997?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=t8xqhnb0qf6&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=zIZCxNVHQju&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The price has gone up since I bought it, I paid £7 and im sure it will come down again.
Looking forward to this !!
Yes Im totally looking forward to seeing the also.
Best outback bike in Oz so we'll see how this goes assuming it gets here. All good except the extra weight and 5 speed.
Yes Im totally in agreement with you on the weight and 5 speed. But it’s a great start.
Yes, 5-Speed will be a massive gripe for many, but more options in this dual sport category are desperately needed so it’s a good thing. Hopefully Yamaha will answer this and bring back the WR250R as a 300-400cc variant and crush the competition…
@@Bicycle_Fungi now that would be the answer. Come on Yamaha, join the party
WR350R...👌👌
Heavier and still a 5 speed
Yes that was one big point from me. I think 6 speed is standard now
The lower capacity market is really taking off
Yes it is. I remember a couple of years ago saying “I wouldn’t ride anything less than a 1000cc. 😂
Your doing just what i want to do. I will be watching with interest. Especialy how the bike goes
Thanks for your comments. It’s going to be an interesting conversation as it will fully be customised around the bike. I’ve got some good ideas which I want to try out also. Cheers Mick
Love it bought it best colour 1000kmn plus getting better engine loosening up 33kms pLitre torque is way better than anything else i tried at a 450, tired are great weight is fine fuelling is awesome i have no complaints accept perhaps hatd to see indcator warning lights on screen but the tftisspet awesome yay,!
I’m totally in agreement with you on the 450. And especially on the indicator warning light. It’s virtually none noticeable. Cheers Mick
Looking forward to seeing the stages of this van being made into a camper .
Cheers Taffy. Hopefully when all the insulation is in, it will start to take shape. Cheers
G'day from Australia, it's always great to go riding with mates and the banter that it creates😊, l have the same heated grips on all my road bikes as we do have a few months when it get cold, not wet just bloody cold, LED the way to go, riding at night where l live is problematic, hundreds of Kangaroos feed along the road side, cheers mate, good video, Neil 🤠.
G'day Neil. Thank you for adding your comments. yea the heated grips are awesome, and the LED is a game changer. I thought we had it bad here in the UK with the odd deer, but I don't envy you with all them Kangaroos trying to spoil your ride. Ride safe mate Cheers Mick.
@RAD_RIDERS_UK hi thanks for the comment, worst time's are Dusk and first light, and this time of year it's breading section so there on the move, 30 million Aussies to 50 million plus Roos, been riding over 45 year and they haven't got me yet, cheers mate, you ride safe, Neil.
Hello Mick, (Guys), I test rode a Moto 450MT yesterday, very impressive for the money, apart from a very snatchy throttle and 2 seat options, both pushing me towards the handle bars. I sat on a showroom Him 450 that did more of the same thing although there's a height adjustment. Mick, could you offer a comment as you're riding the Him regularly, thanks
@@markfenlon7049 hello Mark. Hope your well mate. I’ve not yet had chance to ride the CF moto 450 so can’t give you my thoughts on that. However watching a lot of reviews on this bike say it’s a little cramped in the legroom for taller riders. I find the himi perfect for me and not cramped at all. I have heard the rally seat is a fantastic upgrade for that extra comfort. Hope this helps mate. Cheers Mick.
I've got a shoe almost exactly like this on my Bonneville and it works very well. I have been searching for a similar shoe for my RE Classic 350 which has the same problem. I'll go to aliexpress and look around.
Im sure you will find one on there. I cant believe they are not a standard item on motorcycles.
Thanks Mick for your insight. Glad you're an owner doing this review. I'm a young 66 years, finally deciding to down size (riding a XL1000 Varadero which I love and will keep). Choice between the 450 Him and the CF Moto 450. Deciding factor after test riding, if they both come out even, could be the economy. 90 MPG is a real winner as I'm doing longer EU tours.
Thanks Mark for sharing your comments. The XL1000 is a big bike to come down from, but I’m sure you will not regret it. Especially as you’re keeping it. It’s a tight choice between the 450’s and I’m sure you will make the right choice for your riding needs. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. Ride safe buddy. Cheers Mick.
Excellent review, thanks for sharing. Cheers
Thanks for sharing your comments. I really appreciate it. Cheers Mick
New subscriber here and I love the channel, been going through as many vids of yours as i can, they are great. Back into biking this year on a 2020 CRF250L at 55, luckily with an early retirement package im out and about as much as i can. Lightweight adventure festival 25 here i come. All the best, Mark 👍
Thanks Mark. Really appreciate your comments. Lucky you with a retirement package at 55. We ride all year round and just love being out on the lanes. We ride with all ages and skill levels and every ride we meet new friends. See you at the lightweight adventure festival 25 Cheers Mick 👍
Wow that's a 125cc. It's big too. Looks like a 450cc or bigger. Great vid Mick.
It’s so much fun to ride too. It’s a proper thing and a great looker.
They look brilliant these and for the money you have got a bargain there. I’ve been on a couple of them. One brilliant with a few thousand miles and one awful with 500 miles. I think it depends who put them together. Sounds like you have a good one there 👍
I’ve had both good and bad reviews on these bikes. I must have a good one as I was out for hours on it yesterday. Cheers mate.
Looks great,enjoyed that video,bargain for £800😁👍
Thanks for your comments. Yeah it’s a real nice bike and a bargain at £800. Cheers Mick.
Might be a small capacity bike but, like you say, it looks like a bigger bike and most importantly, IMO, it looks like a proper bike!! I've just finished running in my new Guerrilla 450 ........ I like singles ....... takes me back to my youth 😁 Good video! Cheers
I’m with you on singles. I have the Himalayan 450 and the CRF300. Love all three of these bikes for different reasons. Not tried the Guerrilla 450 yet but looks awesome. Cheers Mick
@@RAD_RIDERS_UK Yes Mick, I watched your Himalayan videos. I test rode the Himalayan just before the Guerrilla came out and was sorely tempted. I don't do off road but, IMO, I think the Himalayan makes a brilliant road bike and it's extra travel suspension makes so much sense with the rubbish road surfaces we have. Most of all, I really liked the gutsy 450 single, it doesn't feel over refined but in the same breath, it feels well engineered like the rest of the bike. In the end, the Playa Black Guerrilla won me over 😊 I reluctantly traded in my Hunter 350, a totally different character to the Guerrilla but brilliant in it's own way. Being fully run in now, just need some decent weather and clean roads. Howz your Himi going? Cheers, Phil (Somerset)
@@PAGallagher hi Phil. Yes the Himi is going great. The weather is not great here in the NW so limited rides out at the moment. I’ve not even seen the Guerrilla in the metal yet. I’m going to have to get over to my local dealer and throw my leg over one. Cheers Mick.
@@RAD_RIDERS_UK Good idea ......... don't forget to leave your wallet at home 😁 Phil
Great vid. Thanks for you help and guidance Mick. Im learning all the time with what your doing. Magnific shagga.
Cheers Taffy. Really appreciate your comments and support. Cheers Mick ❤️
Check engine bolt torques, quite often will resolve the vibes on these.
Great tip thank you. I didn’t think of that. Cheers Mick.
Just put some on mine, great for the price. Looking at your solution I think I have done the right hand one incorrectly...oops. I found it easier to fix the brackets to the plastic guard first, thanks for the video Mr Riders 😉
You’re welcome mate. I think fit them while works best for you. Super made up with mine and really takes the wind off your hands in the upcoming winter months. Cheers Mick.
Another great video Mick! I like how you keep these short and to the point. Im sure there are lots of us looking the the same sort of thing, a simple van setup for transporting the bike while giving an iption for camping out. Would be good to hear all about the practical use once you been out a few times . Keep up the good work fella 👍🏼
Thanks Chris, really appreciate your comments. I will be starting the build in two weeks, then will be getting out with the van and the bikes all over winter. I will keep you posted. Cheers Mick
Presa qualche giorno fa , la trovo fantastica, e una moto fatta veramente bene , controlla il livello dell'olio motore perché nella mia c'era una quantità eccessiva
Thanks for leaving your comments. Happy that you are enjoying your bike also. Good job you checked your oil. Cheers Mick
Sad to see a generation of bikers fading away. The show is getting smaller each year. What will happen to all those lovely classics? The generations following have no interest.
I totally agree. I’m in my mid 50’s and was one of the youngest at the show. It would be a shame if these classics disappear. We need to get the youth into our beautiful passion for motorcycling. Cheers Mick. .
Great videos, great channel. Am a proud owner of a Himi 452 myself and l love to see and hear about your experience with this bike. Thank you for sharing on UA-cam! 👍
Thank you very much for your kind comments. Glad to hear you are also a 452 owner yourself. Cheers Mick.
Thanks for the video, very good job. I also made some videos there and am posting them up but they are just raw footage of walking around in/out as I don't have your editing skills! I enjoyed the day too and thought there was a lot to see. I am also in your video at one point so now I will look out for if I notice you in mine!!
Thanks for your comments, I will look out for your vids. some people just love the raw straightforward videos, editing gets easier the more you practice and find a software that works for you. Cheers Mick
Thers a lot of space inside,, used to be shoulder to shoulder, ,, Covid killed it,
too true
sunday was the better day ? no rain .
The weather was favourable for Sunday. And a little sunshine really makes the show Chers Mick.
Nice video 👍 im looking at the powerbronze adjustable screen but worried it won't let me fit the GPS mount (same as yours)
Many thanks. I've not tested the Powerbronze screen, if you do purchase it, let me know if it fits. Cheers Mick
Poured down as usual. Lots of open spaces. I left to go home at 3.45. Not the best show, with horrible gate staff, who show absolutely no regard, for disabled people.
We were lucky with the weather on Saturday. Nice open spaces and there was quite a few people with disabilities. It’s a shame that the staff are not properly trained to deal with disabled customers properly. I was also surprised that there where no staff directing trafic on leaving the show. It was left for a free for all. Cheers Mick
@anythingoldmechanical Hi yeah we were very luck with the weather. Think next time we go a bit later as not as many ppl about around 2pm ish. So sorry to here about the gate staff . That's just not on. There should be absolutely more disabled access. Maybe I mention that on other events vids.
@@taffy2wheels577 I am severely disabled with lung disease and osteo arthritis. All I wanted to do was go out of the gate, and turn right to go 50ft to the bus stop. Instead, the jobsworth on the gate made me struggle with my walking stick and out of breath and go down that underground tunnel, which taken me 15 minutes to do, then I had to cross the busy main road to get to the bus stop, that wouldn't of been necessary if he had let me out of the gate. I went to the event office, and out of breath tied to explain, and they also couldn't of cared less. As I result of this, I won't ever be going back and supporting this event ever again.
@@RAD_RIDERS_UK I suffer from severe osteo arthritis and lung disease, so as well as having difficulty getting my breath, I struggle walking distances without having to regularly stop. I went to the jobsworth on the gate, and asked him if he could let me out, so I could turn right, and walk 35ft to the bus stop on the same side of the road. He arrogantly denied my request and made me hobble down that long tunnel that goes under the road. When I eventually emerged from tbe other side, I went straight to the event office to put in a complaint, and the staff couldn't of cared less. I then had to cross the busy road to get to the bus stop, that i wouldn't of had to do if he had let me out of the gate to walk tbe 30 odd feet to the bus stop. By then, I had missed my bus, and also my straight through train back to my home, in North Wales. This nasty young jobsworth, and the staff at the event office ruined my day and as a result- I have wowed never to return and support this event ever again. They don't deserve any support behaving that way to people who make the effort to go their, and even forsake their disabilities for a day of enjoyment. If I knew who organised it, I would be in touch with them, too about this.
Great vid Mick. Hope ur toe is feeling a little better. Enjoyed the day.
Cheers Taffy Fantastic day, cheers bud. 👍
Nostalgia is fading fast 💸
Too true 👍
Great video but I think you said that the extension adds 20mm, it doesnt look like it does The Base may be nearer to 20mm but it has a recess of about 10mm so it would increase the height by about 10mm Could you please check as I would like to fit one too Pirelli MT60s for tyres, had a few people asking asking about mine, great tyres I tried going down a narrow country lane on the original tyres and lost control at about 10mph, the insurance co wrote it off. So be careful as I am sure you will be 😉 But I got a full payout as I bought it new and it was less than 6 months old. Accessories were paid out too. Bike Sure if anyone is interested (Adrian Flux company) Had the same colour as you (Kaza) but replaced it with the Hanle Black tubed I have the same hand guards but havent fitted them yet, do you like them and did you keep the weight attached as I think it is supposed to be 😀
Thank you for your comments. You was spot on with th 10mm rais and not 20mm due to the recess. Great tyre choice also. The hand guards fitted very well and survived a couple of drops. Highly recommend them. They do come with other fixings but you can fit them accordingly to your needs. Cheers Mick.
@@RAD_RIDERS_UK Have fitted them now and they are fantastic, looking to incorporate drl n indicator into the guards

It says Givi on the bag, but it was purchased from eBay for around £15. Great little tank bag, with magnetic and strap attachments.
