@@carlosarevalo1047 Hola!! Gracias por tus palabras 🙏🏻 Un buen 2025!! 🔦🎊
Thanks for the demo, man. Very helpful.
@@mmhmm9271 Glad you liked it! Thanks 🙏🏻
Without a protected cell, is voltage sag going to harm a cell? Using turbo when the cell is low? Or using turbo soon after long usage on high mode where the voltage sag might be already happening?
Im curious what would be the main benefits of a quad vs the single emitter? Also about the benefit of a 17mm driver?
⚠️⚠️⚠️ Hey folks! I just noticed that I forgot that the NlightD E1 also takes AA batteries 🤦🏻♂️ I didn't measure the draw with those cells (Alkaline or Rechargeable) and I also gave wrong information about that! 😢 I apologize for the mistake!!! Sorry and thanks for understanding 🙏🏻🔦
Thanks for the beamshots, The advantage of 14500 is just being very slim, short and lightweight. Nitecore did a really good job on it. The other one is way larger and looks more like a 18650 flashlight. Of course it will trow further with the same emitter due to its size. Dont't see the reason for putting a 14500 battery into such a chunky body. I think Nitecore MC1pro would be a better match for the white one and still much shorter,
@unclevasco Thanks for watching and for your comment and ideas about these lights 🙂 While I understand your point on the MT1A being a slimmer and lighter flashlight, with a good throw and some versatility, I cannot avoid stating the great quality that the E1 has, even if it is a bigger flashlight in all aspects! But of course, the 14500 in such a "bigger" light may seem "too small" and almost comparable with 18650s. Still, I think it is a tank of light. As for the MT1A, i guess it may have some more efficiency in some way, but it also drains some more juice from the battery on the highest mode. I don't own a MT1C, but that one would surely have a different throw due to being larger in the head. If I come to get one, I will compare them ;) Again, thank you for your comment and perspective!!! 🙌😎
i bought 3 E1 heads and two bodies (SFT25R, and 519A in 4.5KK & 3.5KK) and i have the MT1A Pro as well. i agree that the E1 is has better throw but it’s almost the size of an 18650 light. as soon as the S6 is available with an SFT25R i feel like that would be a better comparison wrt size. all that said, i really like the E1 and L2 (which i also have). ty for this comparison tho. i am subscribed and i love your content
@@ShawnDumas Hey, thanks for your comment and kind words 🙏🏻 As for your note, about the S6 with SFT25R you are probably correct, it will be able to get more power and put out more light with an 18650 than the E1 with a 14500! Still, the E1 is a beast of a light with an incredible throw and amazing host! The MT1A is smaller and very competent too, more stable in drop but less throwy! I actually will probably use it with AAs just to have 2 modes 😅 Thanks again 🔦🙏🏻
nice
what is convoy s6 emitter?
@@dltkddifmt I am currently using a Osram W1 (can't remember all the technical reference, sorry). The Driver is from led4power and is probably set to 4 or 5A, to avoid turning the LED blue.
This LEP probably has the best tint I've seen from an LEP to date.
Although I have only this LEP light, I tend to agree since most of the others are greenish or yellowish! 👍🏻🔦
@@MascaratumBLF Yeah, I really like lights with a tight beam pattern, but LEPs are too tight and not really useful for me without some spill. My old Jaxman E3 has had quite a few emitter swaps, 519As, LH351D, SFT40 and currently a W1 running on Convoy's 5A driver, but I'm considering the SFT25R next (in 5700K).
@@CorradoVR6z You will be in the right direction to have a tge SFT25R, as the E3 is a great host as well, and will be able to absorb some heat ! And if you find a suitable SMO reflector, it will put out a nice beam 😎
@@MascaratumBLF I'm debating between 5000K and 5700K from Kaidomain, have you seen any tests with them?
@@CorradoVR6z Hum, honestly, I haven't seen tests in those temperatures, only 6500K, by member "koef" on Budgetlightforum. So I cannot say which is the best! If it was another kind of LED I would go to 5700K, but I cannot make that affirmation regarding the SFT25R. For SFT40, 5000K seems great, though!!!
Hey folks ‼ ⚠Sorry, I messed up and gave wrong information about the Nichia version. The LED is a 219B and not 219A version!! 💡 ⚠ Also, the LEP version is the L2, not L1 🔦 ⚠ And I also forgot the name of other flashlights (FW3AA), and mispelled some other stuff 🤦♂ ⚠ I also forgot to show it to you using flat and button top cells, but it works with both types of cells ✅ If you have any comment on things I messed up more, let me know!🎯

I've build the exact same light but im confused on how cresendo works, can you give a simpler exlpanation.
Well, it is hard to explain without doing it, but I will try! I would suggest checking the diagram you find here: www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=17 If you have a REVERSE CLICKY SWITCH: - Click for ON (starts "ramping" from the lowest output up to max and down again, if you don't tap); - Click for OFF - While ON: * tap the switch to stop the "ramping"; tap again, to resume "ramping" (up to max output and then down to lowest output); double tap to invert the "ramping" direction * after turning ON, 2 quick taps go to Moon (lowest output) (1 tap, starts "ramping") * from anywhere, 3 taps to go to Turbo * from anywhere, 4 taps to enter strobes (single tap to change the strobe) and battery check (10 blinks is full, less blinks mean the battery is not full). If you have a FORWARD CLICKY SWITCH (as in "momentary ON"), the explanation is a bit more dense, since the switch and the interface differ a little bit. The principle is almost the same, except that for turning ON the flashlight and to lock a certain output, it will be different. Let me know if this helps in some way. This is an older video, so I may need to do an updated one :x
hello! does this flashlight get very hot when charging for you? mine gets very hot to the touch, and I use a 2amp smartphone charger, and a EVE INR21700-50E cell inside. Is it normal?
Honestly, I normally charge the batteries in a separate charger, not using the flashlight for that purpose. I can test that, though, and then I can inform you about mine's behaviour!
Where did you get the diffuser cap? I cant seem to find any that come with it as an option
If I remember correctly, that diffuser was from the Wuben E05 (1st version). It fits a lot of AA and 16340 flashlights! Lumintop has some diffusers but they glow in the dark, but maybe you can try them.
It was painful watching you struggle with the twisty control. I've come from using a Jetstream Jet-U twisty top for many years. It is the same length as the Lumintop EDC15 but less than half the weight and about half the circumference (thickness) with an aaa battery. I became very comfortable with the twisty. I've owned the Lumintop EDC15 for a few months now and haven't had any issues with the control. I believe that with twisty top lights, timing is important. You need to pace yourself, pause slightly, between light intensity modes. if you change modes very quickly with the EDC15 you'll probably end up in strobe mode. After a few times it becomes natural. I think that if you used only the EDC15 for a while, control would become less frustrating for you.
@ARobbieC, thanks for your comment. Sorry for making it painful to watch, but that was, and still is a struggle with this light! I am not sure if it is this sample, but I still have some struggles to make it turn on and change modes correctly. I have several olther twisty lights (Sofirn, Nitefox, Lumintop, etc) and with none I have troubles controlling it. Before doing the review, I tested it to see if the problem was mine or not. And although I admit I may not be the most proficient "twister" I guess it was not just on me. But, to each, its' own and I am glad you didn't have issues with yours☺
No memory and it always starts in low and even no momentary on without fully press the button. For that reason I love my Fenix LD12 but I think it's discontinued.
I have the driver with host taffled p15.
👍👍👍
is that an anduril version?
Nop, the old version with modes. I actually saw the driver with Anduril today and I may replace this one by it!
@@MascaratumBLF the side switch only lighted when charging?? or it can be set like the anduril version?
@@KULAS6463 I will have to check it as I don't remember it well and from the video I can't tell that with certainty. Will let you now when I check it!

I have that MAO (stone white) and 519a 3500k. I changed my switch to metal RGB.
Have the MAO too, but single 519A 5700K like this one, and a black one with a 3000K 519A (and a smooth reflector). The most I did was swap out the original (magenta AR-coated) lenses for Convoy's now-standard green AR-coated ones. Very nice lights, don't think I'll be modding them.
how to turn/mod into quad?
You would need some kind of spacer (brass, copper or aluminium), to put between the quad MCPCB and the pill. I don't have a notion of the measurements (diameter/height) of that, though. On BudgetLightForum, member "kiriba-ru" sells some spacers, you can check that in the thread: budgetlightforum.com/t/low-cost-copper-pills-spacers-optics-drop-ins-updated-23-10-2022/38581/1 In the USA, I am not sure if MTN Electrincs sells those spacers, but you can check in the store, as well: www.mtnelectronics.com/ Besides the spacer, you can also check the optic and MCPCB/LEDs there or in www.kaidomain.com (or other online sellers). Check this mod: budgetlightforum.com/t/what-did-you-mod-today/37376/10458 I hope the it helps! 👍
I like these for small survival kits where space is a concern. 1 The flashlight is pretty small for AA size 2. I can pop in a primary lithium and dont have to worry about it for 10+ years going flat in storage with no use 3. In pitch dark even 20 lumens is a godsend and you will have that for 16 hours (lithium primary has ca 2300mah, same as eneloop) having more light is naturally better (120lm for 2,5h in high) but even mid mode 20 lm is usable light for a long time. 4. No button is one less part that can fail and i dont have to worry about lockout,- if its off, its off - no accidental button activation in the pack if were to forget lockout before packing it away like with switch lights. 5. i can get these from ali for app. 15-16 bucks, cheap but still a lumintop quality light. Of cause its not perfect, twist activation and UI is a bit awkward , doesnt throw very far (but I like the floody beam) and i would prefer a warmer tint. but for the intended role and what you get for the price its good. These are an upgrade from CMG infinity AA lighs (discontinued) in my small kits - which I still have and use (they do work well even after 20y... but were a bit underpowered, haha :)) We`ll see if these last as long... As an EDC keychain carry which is used daily I`d prefer something else though. Button operated, rechargable internal akkus or shorter runtimes dont concern me as much there. there is plenty of options in this category avaliable nowadays but for survival/emergency kit small lights with long runtime and replaceable battery - the pickings are much slimmer.
It's probably not the best light, but for the price it's handy to keep in the car and versatile to say the least. I bought six and gave them to wife sons and daughters. It's great as a power bank just to get you out of trouble but don't fully charge your phone as it could damage it, disconnect around 90% and you should be fine.
I have the Fenix E12 V2.0 and works perfectly with the Fenix ARB-L14-1600U 1.5V USB Rechargeable Li-ion AA Battery ! Thank for the review man, it's an excellent little flashlight for edc, i bought it after i saw this review !

Very excellent review. I also got a lumintop EDC-01 it's an excellent flashlight. If you want to see my review just click my name. I'm assuming that is the AA variety.
The UI is very bad. 10 Klicks for lock . Not intuitive. You should have the manual in your pocket if you want to use this light. I love the convoy S2+ SST40. I don't buy such a klicking orgie lamp.
@nighthawkflyer Thanks for your comment! I on the one side I do agree with you that 10 clicks for lock may be too much, one can still lock the light physically by slightly twisting the head or the tail, preventing it from turning ON. I also state and agree that the UI is not perfect and is not for everyone, specially if the person wants a simple UI. But, still, the UI on this light is versatile and allows different configurations, which is something we don't get from many major brands. 🔦
Exactly. It's also annoying that you need to double click again to exit turbo. Lol.
I have this torch. It's 4 clicks for lockout and you still have momentary turbo when it's locked out. This torch takes both the regular sized 21700 batteries and the slightly longer ones which not all torches can. It's also very compact and built like a tank. For those reasons and more, there are plenty of people who use this torch as their EDC light.
@@mrwan7010 it's a nice little light. Just annoyed with the UI. It's a versatile light. You can attach a tail magnet and the clip can be attached to your cap. My only problem is it needs extra attention when stored. 4 clicks is momentary and will continue to burst turbo as long as the switch is pressed. Dangerous to be left inside a bag since it only takes seconds for it to punch a hole through dark-colored fabric. 🙂🙂🙂
Great video! Thank you
@PardonMyEnglish Thank you ! Soon I will relase the beamshots video. Don't forget to check what it does in an outdoor nocturnal environment ;) ua-cam.com/video/kLJHA4JELOw/v-deo.html
Hi, we are a flashlight manufacturer, if you are interested in trying our products please reply me your email, I will contact you and send our products, thanks!
Has the same exact led as the spot emitter in the marauder mini, literally identical specs too. Buy one and have 5 different lights instead of a one trick pony in the Javelot
@NoMercyInc Thanks for that information about the LED. This was the first time I saw one of these, hence my lack of knowledge about it. The Marauder Mini is a different flashlight, more complete and more complex, and surely can be used for different purposes. The Javelot Mini serves the single purpose of a "small" pocket thrower, although underpowered due to the 18500 cell. An 18650 or a 21700 in this format would be better in my opinion. Still, the price of the Marauder Mini and the Javelot Mini can weigh in the decision of buying one or the other, which is why this one still has a place in the market, despite the cons.
The Marauder Mini is a $200 flashlight. I just got this Javelot for $65 on flash sale.
Marauder is much fater and cost twice the price and has a tricky button.
Marauder is less focused !
does it remember the brightness?
I cannot confirm it right away as I don't have the flashlights, but this is what I wrote in my review on BLF (budgetlightforum.com/node/77842): "LEDs always turn ON on max output: it would be nice if they could be turned ON in different levels, which could be memorized" and " the front and side LEDs always start on their max power, independent of the last used level." So, I guess it alwways start at a pre-defined level, not the last used one ! I hope it helps ;)
@@MascaratumBLF Thank you for your reply.
Is it ok with 1.5volt 1000 mah li lon AA batteries? Li lon battery
I believe that it can work since it is a 1.5V Lithium battery (not Li-Ion). But 3.7V Li-Ion batteries will probably damage the driver and/or LED.
Didn't expect this when I click the video! Need more views? -> "Promo SM"!!!
Does this has a momentary on tail switch?
The stock flashlight has a reverse clicky switch but if you want you can install a forward clicky switch that will allow you to have momentary ON . You can use the same tail PCB+spring, but you need to unsolder the reverse switch to use the forward switch. Also, normally these forward switches are taller and larger than the reverse so you need to "trim" the corners to make it fit. I hope it helps in some way. If I can I will make a video showing what needs to be done, but only in the next week!
Tremendous help much appreciated!
@@MrMramirez23 I'm glad it did. If there is anything else I can help with, let me know! Still, I will try to make a video showing the differences between the switches! Have a good year!!
Ive been looking for the long range spot light, thanks that helps
It surely reaches a long range with a defined beam, but it is not 2000 meters and I said in the video. Please be aware that it was a mistake! I really see it as a "pocket thrower" and when I go to my village I use at night to spot things in a long distance! Thank you!
Wow 2000 meters that's over a mile I want that
Sorry, I was meaning 200 meters, but sometimes when recording I mess it up between hundreds and thousands :x It was my fault and it should not be seen as brand mistake! Please accept my apologies concerning that mistake. I will edit the description! Thank you and sorry for this!
