As much as I don't like the DJI business practices, they are about a full generation ahead of Walksnail right now.

Glad I'm not the only one feeling more stuttering with the Googles 3. It wasn't terrible but definitely more noticeable than on the Goggles 2. Fingers crossed we get a new firmware soon that resolves this.

The O3 air unit doesn't have remote id.

The latency is the same. Madstech saw that 5ms difference on his first test and then he could not reproduce it. All the rest he did afterwards resulted in the same latency.

How many flights have you put on them so far? I haven’t had any dropouts but definitely a few stutters. DJI usually works out these firmware issues. I remember the early days of the original air unit and the o3, the thing would failsafe or lose video regularly.

I’ve heard some isolated reports of this but hasn’t happened to me yet. I just had a few more noticeable stutters than what I saw on the Goggles 2.

Just had a update, it might be the app fw update, causing this vid drop out, all OK if updated fw by pc method

Ya, I initially thought they would flip up but nope. You also can't just pull them down around your neck either.

@@LovesM855A1 That's DJI for you, they always leave a few things out! They're still really good goggles and better than my Goggles 2 at about 30% cheaper than what I paid for the Goggles 2 at launch.

Hey. Thanks! I've been running these motors on 6s for a while and still going strong. The key is to set a motor limit in betaflight to 66. Similar to what you see in the screenshot in the video at the link below. @@Mangorille thank you for that explanation, you changed the camera mount right? ive seen other reviewers say and show the original camera mount gets the frame and props in view on the O3 camera, could you share your camera mount design? also i didnt know you were in the GTA! barely any other pilots here

You can't fly both at the same time but I had them both setup and would just switch the SBUS on the Port channel to whichever UART. Did that more for testing purposes when making this video.

@@Mangorille OK, can you explain please, was both on the same uart and you just switched from CRF to SBUS in betaflight? Or u have a spare uart for additional receiver?

Generally DJI has a history of making things work one generation back. Look at how right now you can't even use the RC2 with the Goggles 3. DJI is not known for backwards compatibility.

@@Mangorille Yeah, was just thinking that the RC2 controller and Goggles V2 was same cuz they came along the DJI FPV drone

@@DominoCinematic I'm sure DJI can make them work if they wanted, this is their way of introducing what I would call manufactured obsolescence. I don't recommend anyone get the DJI controller unless you must because you have one of the DJI drones.

Depends. How important is it to get the quad under 250 grams? Its very difficult with a 6S 650 to do that. Yes you can run a smaller 6S pack but then you start to get into lower performance packs.

What combination of goggles, air unit, controller are you using?

The case isn't helping the situation but it is actually a GPU design issue. Even running the GPU with the case open and an additional fan right in front has the same issue.

You need to first setup what they call Canvas Mode (also called MSP Display Port) so that the OSD information is being sent to the goggles. Once you have that setup, yes, you just need to open Betaflight and move around the OSD elements. A naked GoPro is about 50 grams so definitely will impact the performance.

Yes, the xml file has an issue. You may have moved it too far off the screen. Unfortunately it is a lot of trial and error unless you can get that overlay preview tool working (which I wasn't able to).

No, this only works with the WTFOS partition and that only works with the previous generation.

I'm no Alex Vanover but my other quads fly better. This thing is still quite impressive out of the box and most likely can be improved with a new version of betaflight and some tuning.

I haven’t tried that motor but the specs seem fine for a 6s motor. What’s your concern? My usual motors are the Xing2 1404 or the T-motor 1604.

Both work fine. I like the ABS option a bit more because it weights less and the screws hold better.

@@Mangorille I just tried the ABS option and went a flew a all day at the end of the day i noticed a bad smell coming from the 03 air unit and behold the abs had melted to the middle and bottom pieces melted to the rf shield thank god i left the rf shield on, this did not happen with tpu weird.

@@Viseo3dp Did you use pure ABS filament or some sort of hybrid? Usually you print ABS at something like 260 degrees C and I doubt your air unit would have gotten that hot.

They changed the way this works in newer versions of betaflight. I added a pinned comment when that change was made. JB makes the big bucks so I don't expect anything less. ;)

Biggest decision would be the battery charger, goggles, air unit, and the hand held controller (i.e. transmitter or radio). Once you figure those out, the rest would be specific to whatever quad/drone you want to purchase (e.g. batteries will depend on the drone). You are correct, the first step is steep if you want to get say the O3 and Goggles 3. You can use the DJI controller 2 but I don't recommend that anymore. Do you recommend the DJI goggles 2 or the DJI Goggles 3?

@quinmuma6943 the newer dji products are not backwards compatible with the old, and the older products are not compatible with the new. For me, that says no matter how good or not the dji 2 goggles are, the dji 3 goggles are the ones to buy.

@@dustinyoung3069 Historically DJI has provided 1 generation of backwards compatibility for the goggles. I'm testing the goggles 3 and still see the goggles 2 as the better choice right now especially if you can find it at a discount. The goggles 2 works with both the o3 and the vista plus if we follow history with the 1 generation of backwards compatibility, it should also support the o4 whenever that releases.

I've got BF4.5, a new tune, and different props on my list of items to try. I didn't have any issues with ducts in view but possible that I run a higher up-tilt angle then you.

how about 2009 gemfan? i want to change my pavo20 blades to 3 blades.

Correct, if you use the DJI Remote 2 then you can use the built in radio receiver in the O3 or Vista (when used with the Goggles 2 or Integra) rather than using a separate stand alone radio receiver like TBS Crossfire or ELRS.

I’ve moved all my quads over to ELRS already. I’d suggest going with that if you already have the module, etc. the ELRS version of this quad is also a lot cheaper.

@@sq1nee No, ELRS is solid and the open source nature of it makes advancements more quick. Just make sure you get the receiver from a reputable company. For the radio, the Radiomaster Boxer is popular.

Was pleasantly surprised at how well this thing performed. Did you try updating the Betaflight version or doing a new PID tune on yours? That’s my next step.

For what type of flying? I see this as more of an indoor type of quad or outdoor on a very calm day. Best suited for new comers to the hobby or those looking to keep the skills sharp during the winter months.

@@Mangorille I actually like tiny whoops for indoors. Outdoors I fly everything from 2 to 10 inch. Just never got around to getting a cinewhoop for filming around people and sub250g. The go to used to be a sub250 2.5 inch, but it seems the trend shifted to 2 inch. I just dont understand why. My guess is 2.5 inch flys way better or am I wrong?

@@chrisbee5481 I still think 3 inch is the sweet spot for performance but then it starts to get tough to hit sub250g for a ducted cinewoop.

@@windwalkerfpv I saw a leak video on Mad's Tech that he thought was from the O4. I suspect we're not going to get an amazing improvement in video quality (just 60mpbs instead of 50) but curious what the other features will be.

@@Huntmx24 Go with 1604 motors and a 6s setup in that case. If you want something light and under 250g, go with 4s and 1404 motors. I went with 4s and 1404 and was happy.

It’s just held by hopes and dreams (friction fit). I used some cap head screws on the naked case so that the o3 can’t eject. Take a look at the full review video once posted for more detail.

Did you already update the firmware on the remote and activate it through the dji software?

Agree. Problem is that there really isn’t anywhere else that’s well protected during crashes.
